Chapter 21 Headless Knight
Bang!
The bar door was opened with a loud bang as if it was kicked open from the outside. At the same time, a vigilant voice came from outside the door.
“Why is there a strange door here? Who’s inside?” It was the voice of a mature man.
Lin Ge, who was wiping a wine bottle, was startled. He looked up and saw a pitch-black flame suddenly burning outside the door, but not a single wisp of flame entered the door, rather, it didn’t even touch the door.
“Is the person outside trying to burn down this shop?” He turned to Elise and asked.
Lanya, who had been sitting in front of the bar, turned around and saw the black flames. She exclaimed, “High-level undead flames!”
Elise, who was feeling extremely bored, had already stood up from her chair and started to twist her wrists and fists. A hint of excitement flashed in her eyes.
Finally, something for her to do.
She stared at the door, waiting for the special customer to come in.
The sound of armor clashing accompanied the black flames, and a figure slowly emerged.
The moment the figure completely appeared, Lin Ge’s pupils suddenly shrank.
The newcomer was wearing shiny black armor and a dark red cloak. He held a wide, charred sword in his hand. On his shoulders, there was only a snow-white neck. In his left hand, which was not holding a sword, he held a human head.
“It’s a headless knight!” Lanya exclaimed, “He’s a high-level existence in the underground world. But why would a headless knight appear in Castaron?”
After seeing the headless knight, Lin Ge was more concerned about something else.
The armor did not fully cover the other party’s figure. There were gaps at the waist, thighs, and chest. Judging from the fair skin and the voluptuous figure, this was a perfect woman’s body. Yet, the head the other party was carrying was a man’s head with stubble.
Why a man’s head?
Which one was the main body, the body or the head?
The long-haired man who was being held asked, “Who are you? Why did you appear in my castle? If you don’t tell me the truth, don’t blame me for being merciless.”
Elise smiled, “Dear customer, please don’t get too agitated. If you want to have a drink, please put away your weapon and sit down. If you’re here to find trouble…”
Elise’s smile disappeared, and she clenched her fists, “I will throw you out!”
“A mere surface creature dares to provoke me?
You’re looking for death!”
Ink-like flames burned on the charred broadsword. The headless knight swung his right arm and slashed down at Elise.
Elise’s figure disappeared the moment the broadsword was swung. Before the headless knight’s right arm fell, she reappeared right in front of him. She raised her left hand against the headless knight’s gardebras, preventing the sword from falling.
“How fast!” The man’s head in the headless knight’s hand revealed a shocked expression. Elise lowered her head and smiled at the head, “The weakness of the headless knight is here!”
“W-what do you want to do?” The man said nervously.
“Nothing. I just suddenly felt like playing football.”
Before she even finished her sentence, Elise kicked. With that, the head that was tightly held by the headless knight was like a football that was heading toward the goal. With a cry of pain, it flew out of the door at an extreme speed.
Only a strand of hair that had been pulled out was left in the headless knight’s hand.
The headless knight waved the broadsword in his hand wildly, but he could not touch Elise at all due to the lack of vision.
Elise seized the opportunity and her long leg was like an iron whip as she quickly and violently whipped the abdomen of the headless knight, causing the sword in the latter’s hand to drop. His body slid back to the door, and he knelt with his hands on his stomach. Neelu, who heard the commotion and came out of the resting room, saw Elise kick the headless knight out of the door.
“Elise? Did you drive the new customer away?” Neelu said with a yawn.
Elise was in a good mood after “exercising”.
She pointed at the black flames outside the door and said, “Look, he made the first move. He even wanted to burn down our shop.” Watching Elise make a move, Lin Ge wondered if there was a rule in the employee’s Code of Conduct that forbade them from attacking their colleagues, but he decided not to provoke her in the future.
This customer was the most special one he had ever had since he started working here.
“Lanya, did you just say the underground world?”
Lanya nodded, but the shock on her face was still there.
“The underground world is the Kingdom of the specters and undead. The headless knight is an elite existence there. It is impossible for him to appear in a large city like Castaron unless the surface has already fallen.”
Elise explained with a smile, “There is more than one entrance to the Emeralds bar. The entrance to Castaron is just one of them in the human cities.”
“Does this shop have entrances all over the continent? To think there’s even an entrance to the underground world. That’s just ridiculous.”
“That’s right.”
“This shop is really amazing,” Lanya exclaimed with her mouth agape.
After understanding the situation, Lin Ge thought to himself that there would probably be even stranger customers in the future. He had better be mentally prepared.
He looked at the black broadsword that the headless knight had left in the shop and asked, “What do we do with the sword?”
Elise easily picked up the sword and hung it on the wall with a white silk thread that appeared out of nowhere. She smiled and said, “It’s not a bad idea to keep it as decoration in the shop. Or when the knight comes back, we can extort a ransom from him.”
This woman was really ruthless… After work, Lin Ge and Lanya went to the jewelry shop near the bar. It was a ten-minute walk from the bar.
The two gemstones Prince Lieyang had given them were sold for a total of 12000 gold. Lin Ge did not let Lanya keep the money this time, and the latter was too embarrassed to keep them anyway. She did not even take the 100 gold that Lin Ge had given her.
According to her, her fortune with money had always been very bad, so she always spent her money as soon as she had it. Otherwise, she would lose it in various situations.
As she had not made any money in a long time, she had forgotten about this characteristic of hers. If she had remembered it earlier, she would not have agreed to help Lin Ge keep his 1000 gold coins.
With his bulging money bag, Lin Ge arrived at a magic item shop near the Adventurer’s Guild under Lanya’s lead.
Standing in front of the shop, Lin Ge raised his head to look at the wooden sign on the door. On it was written “Allison Magic Item Shop”. Although it was a little disgusting to recall, he still let the door spirit lick him last night. At that time, it felt like an electric current had passed through his body, and there was no other abnormal situation.
It seemed that the enchantment ritual was a success.
The two of them stepped into the shop, and a gentle voice immediately came from behind the counter, “Welcome, please feel free to take a look.” The shop manager, Allison, was a mature woman who looked to be in her twenties. She had long, smooth brown hair, and was wearing a black and purple mage robe. Her figure was very eye-catching.
When she saw the bulging money bag in Lin Ge’s hand, her charming eyes immediately lit up.
Judging from the size of the pouch and the shape of the gold coins, each gold coin was worth 100 gold, which meant that there was at least 10000 gold in the pouch. More importantly, both Lin Ge and Lanya looked very young, and it was obvious that they were adventurers who had just started their careers. This kind of customer was simply a standard dupe.
Alison walked out from behind the counter and said even more enthusiastically, “What kind of items do you need? I can give you recommendations.”
