Chapter 31 Roll Happily in the Mud with the Wild Boar
Lanya waved her staff, and a wind blade cut through the air and flew over the wild boar’s head.
The wild boar’s ears twitched as if it was about to wake up, but it only snorted and didn’t open its eyes.
Lin Ge looked at Lanya sympathetically. The target was huge, yet she could not even hit it even when the boar was lying on the ground. No wonder no party wanted her.
Celia was even more puzzled. Even though she did not know magic, she had seen other people cast spells before. Was Lanya doing this on purpose?
“I’ll do it.”
“If you have a powerful spell that can finish it off, just use it. It’s sleeping, so it’s a good opportunity to launch a long-distance attack.”
“I only know beginner-level magic.”
“Is that so?” Celia raised one of her eyebrows, obviously not believing him.
Regardless of whether she believed it or not, Lin Ge had already raised his staff. Fire elements began to surge from the pitch-black staff, condensing into a small flame the size of a soybean. It then began to expand, quickly forming a fireball the size of a basketball.
This was almost Lin Ge’s limit. The simple structure of a beginner spell could only support so much magic energy. Any more and the fireball would explode in front of him.
At this moment, the boar in the mud seemed to sense the gathering of magic energy and suddenly opened its eyes.
“Ah, ah, it’s awake! Quickly hit it!” Lanya said quickly.
Lin Ge waved his staff, and the fireball quickly flew toward the wild boar. However, it had already stood up, and with the strength of its four legs, it kicked off the splattered black mud and nimbly dodged the fireball.
Celia looked at this scene in disbelief. Had Lin Ge missed too? Could it be that he has sensed her intentions and was deliberately hiding his strength?
This couldn’t do. She had to find a way to make him give himself away.
Looking at the wild boar that was charging toward them, Celia shouted, “Keep your distance, I’ll block it.”
Lin Ge hurriedly pulled Lanya to the back and only stopped after running for about 30 meters. When he turned around, he saw that the wild boar had already rushed to Celia. If one were to be stabbed by the boar’s spear-like fangs, one would definitely be pierced through.
Finally, Celia made her move. She leaped and dodged the fangs. At the same time, she stomped on the boar’s head and soared like an eagle. Then, she spun in the air and landed on the boar’s head like a drill.
In the distance, Lin Ge could hear Celia shouting the name of the technique.
“Whirlwind Battle Dragon Kick!”
Bang!
A heavy, muffled sound.
The kick seemed to have the force of a thousand pounds. The four strong legs of the wild boar went soft, and its huge head fell heavily to the ground.
Such a gorgeous combat technique stunned Lin Ge and Lanya, who were watching the battle from a distance. Their mouths unconsciously opened.
Just when Lin Ge thought that the battle was over, the wild boar shook its head and stood up shakily. Its huge eyes were bloodshot and completely red.
When it stood firm and sensed the human standing on its head, it let out a shrill cry and frantically shook its head, trying to shake the human off.
“To think you managed to withstand my full-powered Whirlwind Battle Dragon Kick. What a tenacious beast!”
Celia jumped and landed on the back of the wild boar. Then, she shouted in Lin Ge and Lanya’s direction, “It has gone berserk. Use magic to attack it!”
A few wind blades slashed across the boar’s back, cutting off a few of its manes and cutting through Celia’s knee-length socks.
“Little girl, you’re aiming at me on purpose, aren’t you?” Celia took a deep breath and widened her beautiful eyes.
If it wasn’t for her quick reaction, her socks might not have been the only thing that was cut.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose!” Lanya apologized in a panic.
Boom!
Lin Ge’s fireball hit the pig’s head, but it only burned part of its fur and did not cause any substantial damage.
This undoubtedly angered it.
The berserk wild boar suddenly turned its head, roaring as it charged in the direction of the two.
“It’s coming. Lin Ge, what do we do?” Lanya immediately panicked. She clasped her legs tightly and couldn’t stop trembling.
“Of course, we run!”
Lin Ge cast a Fleeting Spell and Godly Movement Spell on himself, then pulled Lanya and ran.
The berserk wild boar was like a tank that rolled over the place where the two of them had been standing. After missing, it drifted at a high speed, kicking up a large piece of soil, then dashed in the direction where the two of them had escaped.
Standing on the back of the wild boar, Celia was as calm as a knight. She stared at the fleeing Lin Ge and Lanya, trying to figure out something.
“Stop pretending! Show me your true abilities!”
However, the two only ran, running for their lives. It did not look like they were pretending at all. Lin Ge was pulling Lanya along with him and thus could not shake off the wild boar in terms of speed. He could only observe the surrounding environment and try to use the environment to shake it off.
The surroundings of the swamp were flat, and there was open farmland nearby. No matter which way they ran, they would definitely be caught. There was only that place. As long as they could reach that place, they would be saved. The big tree in the middle of the swamp was probably the wild boar’s parasol. Its trunk was thick and strong, and its branches were luxuriant, casting shade on the swamp. Now that things had come to this, he couldn’t care less if it was dirty or not. Saving his life was the most important thing.
He pulled Lanya and ran towards the swamp.
Lanya trembled and said, “Lin, Lin Ge, where are you running to? That’s the swamp!” Lin Ge didn’t have the time to answer. He picked her up and charged forward, finally entering the swamp.
The cold and sticky black mud instantly gushed into his trousers, licking his calf like wet tongues. The air was filled with a pungent smell.
Lanya hugged his neck tightly and raised her butt crazily, afraid that she would fall into the black mud that was like an abyss.
As Lin Ge ran, drops of cold mud splattered on her snow-white neck, and her petite body instantly became stiff.
When she saw the huge wild boar that was about to catch up, she cried out, “It’s almost catching up!”
At this moment, Lin Ge was still about ten meters away from the tree, and the wild boar behind him was only three to four meters away. The mud splattering from behind had already hit the back of his neck.
His speed was ultimately no match for the wild boar that lived in the mud. This was its home field.
He used all his strength to throw Lanya towards the big tree.
“Quickly climb up the tree!”
Plop!
Lanya fell into the cold mud. When she struggled to sit up, her eyes had lost their luster as if her soul had been drawn out of her, and she was motionless.
“Don’t dawdle anymore, quickly climb up the tree!” Lin Ge shouted.
Lanya stared behind Lin Ge in a daze. Her lips quivered and she said subconsciously, “But I… I don’t know how to climb trees…” Then, she suddenly giggled as if she was mad, “Ha, haha. I’m no longer clean. Just plunge into destruction…This world.”
Lin Ge was stunned. Was he going to sacrifice himself for nothing? However, he soon realized that something was wrong. Why hadn’t the wild boar crashed into him yet?
At this moment, a shout came from behind him, “Quickly climb up the tree!”
He turned around and saw a scene that he would never forget. Celia had jumped into the swamp at some point and was standing between the boar and him. She held the pair of terrifying fangs in her hands and held the huge creature in place. The scene of a petite and cute girl fending off a berserk wild boar that was like a black war chariot stunned Lin Ge for two seconds before he came back to his senses.
He quickly ran to the tree, pulled up Lanya, who was still muttering curses about the destruction of the world, and climbed up the tree.
