Chapter 40 Magic-replenishing Wine
“Name.”
“… Lin Ge.”
“Where did the other two go? What’s their relationship with you?”
“We’re not in the kind of relationship you’re thinking of,” Lin Ge tried to explain.
“No?” The police sneered, “If not, why would you run? Heh, cosplay, three girls? Young man, you seem to know how to have fun.”
When Lin Ge walked out of the police station, he looked up at the night sky and took a deep breath. Then, he exhaled a heavy breath and turned to the weak Lanya, “Thank you. If it wasn’t for your bewitching magic, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have been able to explain myself.”
Lanya’s face was pale from the excessive consumption of her magic energy. She grabbed Lin Ge’s arm and trembled like an old grandma.
“It’s okay. If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have been caught by them. This is what I should do.”
Lin Ge squatted in front of her.
“I’ll carry you.”
Lanya lay on his back gently. She seemed to be weightless.
Not long after, Lin Ge felt her head on his left shoulder, and he could hear her even breathing.
Under such circumstances, he could only send her back to rest first. He would check on Prince Lieyang another day.
After walking for a while, Lin Ge suddenly felt that his shoulder was wet. He turned around and saw that a clear liquid was flowing from the corners of Lanya’s mouth.
Her sleeping habits were really bad, or was it because she was too tired?
Lin Ge shook his head helplessly and continued walking. When he returned to the Emeralds, Karina and Celia were waiting for him in the hall.
Looking at Lanya, who was fast asleep on his back, Karina clearly used her excessive imagination again.
“What did you do to her?”
Lin Ge walked straight into the resting room as if he didn’t hear her.
“Ha, I’ve been ignored again.”
When Celia noticed the expression on Karina’s face, she was once again certain that there was something wrong with this woman’s brain.
“To think he brought her into his room. What do you think they’re doing inside?” Karina turned around and asked.
Celia looked awkward and did not know how to answer. Luckily, Lin Ge quickly came out of the resting room and walked to the bar.
He took out the bag of evil-clothed herb that Celia had brought and a glass of blue liquid. This was the slime liquid left behind by the slime called Diluko.
Then, he took a bottle of sweet red wine, a bottle of cherry brandy, and a bottle of Poire Williams from the wine cabinet. These three wines had a high sugar content, and if mixed well, they should be able to neutralize the spiciness of the evil-clothed herb juice. Both Celia and Karina were drawn to the bar counter. Looking at the busy Lin Ge, Karina asked curiously, “Are you mixing a drink?” Lin Ge had already used magic to squeeze out the liquid from the evil-clothed herb, gathering it into an egg-sized ball. He replied, “It’s wine, and it’s also a potion for recovering magic energy. I want to try it.”
If he wanted to achieve the effect of magic energy replenishment, adding one or two drops of the evil-clothed herb juice would not be enough. He would need at least the juice of three stalks of evil-clothed herb.
Lin Ge opened the three bottles of fruit wine. Dark red, peach-colored, and light-colored wine flew out from the bottles respectively and fused into the ball of dark clothes grass juice like three thin threads. The dark dark juice was gradually dyed with a touch of pink, and the egg-sized liquid turned into the size of a goose egg. Then, the three threads of wine suddenly broke, and a drop of the mixed liquid separated and fell on the tip of Lin Ge’s tongue.
His sensitive taste buds touched the dark red liquid, and his brows quickly furrowed. “Hm, it’s not smooth enough. Let’s try adding some slime liquid.”
A thin line flew out of the blue slime liquid in the cup and merged with the prototype of the magic-replenishing potion. The dark red ball began to change, showing a touch of purple.
Lin Ge tasted another drop. “The ratio is wrong. It’s too astringent.”
“Good, the fruit fragrance is fresh, sweet, and smooth, and the spiciness of the evil-clothed grass has diluted the smell of alcohol and the sweet taste. It’s done!” After repeated mixing, the taste of the magic-replenishing potion was finally to Lin Ge’s satisfaction. He noted down the ratio in his mind, took out a glass, and poured the successfully mixed potion into it.
Karina and Celia stared at the glass in his hand.
The dark purple liquid rippled in the glass and gave off a mysterious fragrance.
“It looks good, can I try it?” Karina licked her lips. “No, this cup is for Lanya to replenish her magic energy, but you’ll be able to drink it in the shop soon.
Lin Ge walked into the resting room with the wine. On the bed, Lanya was sleeping soundly.
Lin Ge walked to the side of the bed and brought the glass of magic energy-replenishing potion close to Lanya’s peaceful face. The tip of her nose twitched twice, and then her nose led her head, and her head led her upper body. Following the movement of the glass, she sat up on the bed.
She opened her eyes and saw Lin Ge sitting on the bed with a glass of wine. “What’s this? it smells so good.”
“This is a magic-replenishing potion specially made for you. Drink it.”
“Magic-replenishing potion?”
Lanya took the glass and drank it in one gulp.
Her pale face quickly regained its color, and a wave of heat surged in her body, quickly replenishing her depleted magic energy. She took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled, accompanied by the fragrance of wine.
She suddenly lifted the blanket and jumped down from the bed. “You’re not sleeping anymore?”
“How can I sleep like this? I feel like the magic in my body is about to overflow and many bugs are crawling on my head. I’m going to release a few spells to vent.’ Lanya rushed out of the resting room with her staff. When Lin Ge returned to the main hall, Karina and Celia were staring at him in shock. Both of them had just seen Lanya rush out aggressively as if she was going to fight someone. Lin Ge scratched his face and muttered to himself, “Did I put in too much of the evil-clothed herb’s juice?”
After Karina and Celia left, Lin Ge lay down on the sofa and took out the glass of Honeyed Apples that the slime Diluko had drunk and spat out.
The wine was crystal clear and had a fragrant smell. “This wine…”
The wine had undergone a wonderful change in the slime’s body. Just from the smell, Lin Ge could tell that its quality had reached a higher level.
Finally, he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He dipped his little finger in the wine and put it on the tip of his tongue. Sure enough, the taste had become fresher. The extra taste was similar to the blue liquid left by Diluko, but there were also subtle differences. Could it be that the fluids from the slime’s body were different?
Lin Ge began to consider whether he should capture a slime to study. Perhaps they could be developed into biological tools for making wine, just like the yeast used in the fermentation process of wine… Just as he was thinking about this, there was a sound from the door. He quickly hid the slime wine back in his ring and lay on the sofa, pretending to take a nap.
It was Lanya who came in after venting her anger. She still sounded a little excited. “Wow, Lin Ge. The thing you gave me to drink was simply too powerful. Not only can it quickly replenish magic energy, but it also tastes great. If we sell it in the guild, it will definitely be sought after by mages and we can definitely make a lot of money.” Lin Ge opened his eyes and smiled, “I was just planning to add it to the shop’s menu. I don’t think I should sell it at the guild though. I don’t want to be too tired. You sleep inside today and I’ll sleep on the sofa.” The next morning, Lin Ge was lying on the sofa when he was awoken by the sound of things colliding.
He abruptly sat up from the sofa and looked at the door. The shop manager, Glenfiddich, was carrying a large cardboard box. It must have been the sound of the cardboard box hitting the door.
