A Deal With The Frigid Wizard - Chapter 24

Chapter 24
Hisran clenched his teeth.
The expression disappeared from his face in an instant. As he descended from above Jaeha, he gave her a shield and whispered to her.
“I’ll come right back after the—no, I’ll take care of it and come back.”
It was a friendly voice as usual, but perhaps because it was expressionless, it somehow felt eerie. Jaeha, a little startled, stared blankly at his back.
Hisran’s golden eyes flashed wildly as he locked the door and came out.
“I’ll tell you why I’m Archwizard of Fire.”
There were a whopping twenty Chinese Zombies attacking Hisran and Jaeha. It was terrifying to watch the group of Chinese Zombies approaching like a siege to the house. Nevertheless, he glanced at them and raised one hand.
A wall of fire rising from in front of his feet burned and ate the creatures that were rapidly crossing the ground and devoured a group of Chinese Zombies.
“Uaaaaaa!”
“Kuuughh—!”
In the blink of an eye, the wall of fire that had turned twenty Chinese Zombies to ashes disappeared again with Hisran’s single gesture. His feet, who had used Haste magic, moved to a place where he felt familiar magic.
“Fire sphere.”
Except in special cases like Hisran and Jaeha, wizards and knights were usually fighting for two or three at most.
While the Viscounty’s knights drew the attention of the two of them, the fire spear prepared by Kyle, the wizard of the red tower, accurately hit the back of the head of one of them.
The knights and Kyle’s faces brightened. They had no doubt that the creatures would soon be engulfed in flames.
“What, what…?”
The fire only burned the back of the Chinese Zombie’s head and did not spread to other places. It was as if the whole body had been soaked in water. The sight of the Chinese Zombies waving their nails with his head on fire was terrifying.
“Why doesn’t it burn…!”
“I, I don’t know. The Tower Master said that he had burned it with a fire sphere!”
Embarrassment caused mistakes.
The moment his foot slipped, the knight predicted that the Chinese Zombie’s claws would pierce his neck. However, it was about half a beat faster for its whole body to burn than for the sharp nails to pierce his neck.
“Tower Master…!”
Kyle exclaimed as if pleased. Kyle, who was trying to ask Hisran why he put him in a difficult situation by lying that he killed the Chinese Zombie with a fire sphere, shut his mouth as soon as his eyes met.
Glittering golden eyes, expressionless face.
Exuding furious heat from his entire body, he was insulted by the previous Tower Master and swept the Tower Master with a wall of fire, earning the notoriety of ‘human disaster’ and the titles of ‘The Archwizard of Fire’ at the same time.
In short, he was in a state of being unable to see anything now. He seemed to be on fire with the Chinese Zombies if he got caught wrong.
‘Oh, I’m an idiot for thinking that this fire sphere and that person’s fire sphere. It looks like I’ll have to use a firestorm to burn it.’
Kyle, who found the answer on his own, said in a gentle voice.
“Thank you for saving me, Tower Master!”
But, Hisran was already running to another place. The knight, who was about to die, slumped down on the floor as if he had relaxed. Kyle, too, was about to sit down with him, shrugging his shoulders as he suddenly remembered something.
“Oh, this is not the time for me to be like this!”
“Are you going to go elsewhere?”
“Support is not an issue now. We must inform the other wizards quickly. Red Tower Alert 1 is on, so we need to build a barrier around it.”
There was a sense of desperation in Kyle’s voice.
The most powerful number of alerts from the enemy tower… As long as Alert 1 went up, it wasn’t the time to worry about the Chinese Zombies. They had to build a defensive barrier and a wall of water to keep the house from burning down.
Hisran went to a place where he could feel the magic of the red tower wizards and burned them again and again. He thought some wizards said something, although he heard it in one ear and spilled it out the other, so he couldn’t remember anything at all.
It didn’t matter.
Now he had only one goal. He burned all the Chinese Zombies who interfered with the critical moment, found those who manipulated them, and beat them.
Rage burning like fire helped smooth out the magic supply and made it less tiring. Having almost dealt with the Chinese Zombies who ran rampant in the residence, Hisran began to pursue Zephiroth’ magical power.
On the other hand, the wizards and Zephiroth, who were chosen as the separate unit, each had their concealment magic unfolded, and they used fly magic to watch the Viscounty Koufen as if they were patrolling them.
When the Chinese Zombies moved, the magic of the manipulator was barely exposed. They decided to seize that moment.
When the veil of the night completely covered Viscount Koufen’s residence, the whole family had left, and from the vacant houses, the Chinese Zombies rose through the dirt on the streets.
Zephiroth gave an expression that he had been hit in the back with a hammer.
“So, that’s why we didn’t find it. It’s hard to tell the difference even if you can feel the energy under your feet because they have been churning around the territory for several days, and the energy of death and negative energy has spread all around you.”
Although the number and momentum of the Chinese Zombies seemed significant, the separate unit believed in other wizards and knights and concentrated only on the pursuit of the warlocks.
After all, the strongest wizard among them, Hisran, was in charge of handling the Chinese Zombies. A few sacrifices may occur, but the territory will be protected.
The presence of black magic led to the mountains. The mountains in the vicinity of the territory belonging to a part of the Usturas Mountains were deeper and more rugged than they seemed. Nonetheless, since they only searched during the day today, there must have been a place that their eyes could not reach.
“That looks like the place?”
Zephiroth and the wizards stood in front of the lush place. To ordinary people, only trees could be seen, but as wizards, they felt an abnormal flow of magic.
Beautiful water magic unfolded from Zephiroth’s hand. The clear water had the power to break delusion.
A blue stream knocked down the bushes. The landscape shook, the bushes disappeared, and a small cave appeared. Five Chinese Zombies standing in front of the door like a guard, showing their teeth and waving their claws, attacked the wizards.
“While the Chinese Zombies buy out of time, the warlocks can run away. Diana, enter the cave with me. The rest, please.”
“Of course! If you miss it, the Tower Master will riot.”
Zephiroth and Diana, who performed Haste magic, started running with all their power. Choosing Diana as his companion was a good decision.
Thanks to her adeptness at catching traps, curses, and breaking barriers, she was able to quickly neutralize the warlock’s sleight of hand and make their way inside.
“Wow, it’s hard to see the people’s faces.”
“You guys! You already came all the way here.”
It was only after defeating the two Chinese Zombies, which seemed to be the last defense, they were able to meet the four warlocks.
At the feet of the warlocks, there was a dark blue magic circle that looked like it was painted by grinding obsidian. It was presumed to be a magic circle that controlled the Chinese Zombies. They continued to pour red blood and magical power into the circle.
Three warlocks attacked Zephiroth and Diana, pouring curses on them. It was a 3 to 2 battle, but not only Zephiroth, Diana was also a wizard with excellent skills.
Rather, the warlocks seemed to be pushed a little.
“Shaq!”
“It’s done. Hold on a little longer!”
After listening to the warlocks’ conversation, Zephiroth noticed that they were preparing teleportation magic.
Due to the nature of black magic that was difficult to control precisely, teleportation magic was a magic that had to be thoroughly prepared and unfolded. Presumably, from that point, it was clear that Shaq was the most talented person here.
Regardless, even though he was leading the battle to his advantage, they had no means to interfere with the preparations for his teleportation magic.
‘What? At this rate, I’d miss them…’
Should he sacrifice the flesh and take the bones, risking injury and interfering with the warlock named Shak?
As Zephiroth hesitated, heat surged from the passage they had passed.
“Found it.”
A familiar voice was heard. He felt glad to the Tower Master’s appearance until he saw his expressionless face.
‘Why is he so angry…?’
Not only Zephiroth but also Diana’s brows frowned.
In that state, Hisran could attack his allies, so they had to be careful. The only ones who could endure in the face of his maddening fire were the tower masters of each tower, including the Blue Tower Master, Sjord.
