The hunched elder raised an eyebrow at this and paused his actions for a second even though his eyes never left Gu Yunyue.
At the same time, the horse-faced young man took out a black dagger and ruthlessly cut his arm with it.
Blood surged out and transformed into a thick cloud of bloody mist before it seeped into the ghost emblem scroll.
The gas emitted from the black scroll became more concentrated and an eerie breeze appeared out of nowhere. Loud howling and wailing suddenly started and sounded extremely scary.
Growl, growl!
Two ugly ghostly figures appeared from the scroll and growing in size with the wind as they became about five feet tall.
The two ghostly figures had an upper body similar to an ape short, dark green fur on top while they had white, sharp teeth poking out of their mouths. Their ape-like arms were thick and muscular, while their fingers were laced with bloody, sharp and long claws.
Their lower bodies were covered with a black mist.
The cold wind around the scroll grew even stronger and the black aura boiled as more and more scary ghostly figures flew out from it.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds of ghostly figures appeared.
The majority of them were in the Foundation Establishment level. However, there were about six ghostly figures that were a lot bigger than the others and each of them exuded the aura of the Core Formation level.
“Kill!” The horse-faced young man smiled uglily as he pointed at Gu Yunyue and the rest of the group.
Growl, growl, growl!
Hundreds of ghostly figures flew towards the flying boat, their speed and aura extremely scary.
Gu Yunyue’s expression immediately changed as she moved her hands that were pressed onto the silver handkerchief. She hit the storage pouch by her waist and four rays of white light flew out, landing all around them. They all turned into human-shaped white jade puppets and each of them wore armor while holding onto a broad white flag as the spiritual glow around them sparkled.
The four puppets merely shook the large flag in their hands as extremely dazzling white light appeared from within them. The lights hurriedly connected with each other and formed a protective white array that surrounded the flying boat as a barrier.
The moment the array was formed, the hundred ghostly figures flew over and surrounded the white barrier completely.
Growl, growl!
These ghostly figures growled nonstop, grabbing with their hands and biting with their mouths, doing their best to attack the white array.
Especially the few Core Formation level figures. Green rays kept spewing from their mouths to attack the array.
The white array immediately trembled.
Gu Yunyue hurriedly made a hand seal and white rays landed on the four puppets one after another before the array finally stabilized.
The horse-faced young man’s figure shook, before he reappeared near the white array. He muttered something under his breath and grayish-white fire appeared around his body again, forming a fiery sea that was about a few hundred feet in size.
His hands grabbed the air and the grayish-white fire in the fiery sea immediately broke apart into smaller clusters before reforming into two longspears.
He then waved his arm and a fiery longspear immediately shot out, creating a screeching sharp sound and ruthlessly landed on the white array.
A loud rumble sounded!
The fire spear broke into pieces. However, the white array also shook violently. Gu Yunyue’s body also trembled and her face turned pale.
The horse-faced young man kept smirking. Spear after spear shot out from his hands and landed on the diminishing array one after another.
The white array that was originally eight yards wide trembled violently and its area narrowed speedily. Within a few seconds, it shrunk till it was barely thirty feet wide.
Gu Yunyue’s face turned even paler as cold sweat covered her forehead while her body shivered lightly.
Above the array, the hunched elder saw Gu Yunyue’s current expression and laughed out loud. He slapped the storage pouch by his waist and twelve black rays shot out from within and revealed itself to be twelve bone forks.
The bone forks grew in size with the wind and spouted black fire on its surface. They exuded a cold and sharp aura as they flew down and stabbed towards the white array.
With Qi Xuan having ordered the two of them to come, either of them could make a huge contribution if they could kill Gu Yunyue.
Gu Yunyue was already at her peak right now, so the hunched elder immediately moved to snatch the credit.
The horse-faced young man was extremely angry. However, since the hunched elder’s cultivation base was greater than his, he could only swallow it down sadly.
Seeing this, Gu Yunyue could not help but fall into despair.
However, right at this moment, a figure flew towards the sky from the flying boat. With a tremble, the figure actually pierced through the white array and into the air outside. It was Han Li.
They watched as his figure shook left and white, before he quickly split into several shadows and then remerged into one.
The twelve bone forks suddenly disappeared in a bizarre manner.
The hunched elder’s gaze darkened, before his expression changed completely.
Han Li opened his hands slowly and revealed the twelve bone forks in them. He then put his hands together and the black fire on the bone forks all dissipated, showing their true selves.
He glanced at the bone forks, before he waved his hands to stow them away. His expression remained unchanged from the start, like he was doing nothing important.
“Y-You…” The hunched elder pointed at Han Li, overwhelmed with anger and shock.
Those ghostly figures smelled the aura on Han Li and immediately gave up on the white array and pounced towards Han Li instead as they let out excited growls.
“Noisy!”
Han Li furrowed his eyebrows and his body shook once more before it turned into a blurry shadow and rushed into the group of ghostly figures.
Wherever the shadow went, it left a trail of destruction as if those ghostly figures were waves crashing upon rocks as they disintegrated.
In the blink of an eye, nearly a hundred ghostly figures were killed by that figure easily and they looked like autumn leaves falling down.
The horse-faced young man’s face was dumbfounded as he watched everything happen with a blank expression.
The shadow flashed and Han Li appeared in front of him as he punched out.
There was a loud bang!
The horse-faced young man did not even have time to cry out in pain when his body immediately burst apart and he turned into minced meat. His Nascent Soul hiding in him was not even spared.
“Not good.”
Seeing this, the hunched elder hurriedly waved his sleeve and many green flying needles appeared. There were hundreds of them and every needle was as long, sharp and thin as a strand of hair, but each of them burned with a green fire.
The thin flying needles rained down on Han Li with a hiss.
Almost at the same time, green fire emitted from the man’s body. He hurriedly turned around and flew away and did not even bother to take back his golden pagoda.
Seeing this, Han Li merely opened his mouth and sucked in a deep breath.
Rumble!
A strong sucking force suddenly appeared in front of him and everything within a hundred feet was sucked backwards. Ringing and buzzing filled the air.
The rain of flying needles were immediately sucked in and they flew into Han Li’s mouth. His mouth moved and crackled a little as he leaned back slightly before he swallowed them directly.
Seeing this, Gu Yunyue opened her mouth in shock as she froze on the spot.
Yu Menghan and Liu Le’er, who were on the flying boat, only saw everything in front of them turning into a blur. They did not understand that the situation had changed until one of the enemies died and the other tried to flee. They could not help but feel dumbfounded.
At this time, Han Li saw the green glow moving away with the hunched elder. His expression darkened as a faint golden hue appeared on his arm and he threw a punch.
There was a sonic boom!
The void behind the hunched elder flashed before a golden fist the size of a skull flew out. It was faster than the ones before.
“Ah!”
The hunched elder’s expression changed drastically and his body shook as a black glow covered him. In the next moment, he was punched ruthlessly by the golden fist.
Bang!
A green ghostly fire exploded but there was not any blood. There was only the rain of white skeletons.
At the same time, there was a change in the air at a void about hundred feet away from there. A black glow appeared out of nowhere and a figure flew out of it haggardly. It was the hunched elder.
He glanced behind him in fear, before he spat out a mouthful of green glow again, which turned into a green fire that surrounded his body. He flew away into the distance, before he disappeared completely.
Han Li’s consciousness had long spread out. Everything that happened within a hundred feet was naturally within the range of his consciousness. Just as he was thinking about what the hunched elder would do next, he suddenly looked down and saw the green glow on himself. It was clearly dimmer than before.
Han Li immediately frowned and the thought of chasing after the hunched elder disappeared. He immediately waved his hands to remove the green glow and swept the horse-faced young man’s storage pouch over before turning around and landing on the flying boat.
Even though he mainly used his body’s strength to fight in the past few fights, this time he could not help but use his magic.
