Chapter 41: Small Bottle
A cloudless night a few days later.
A full moon hung in the sky among the stars and from time to time, meteors would flash past.
In the secret chamber of his cavern, Han Li sat cross-legged in the middle with his eyes closed tightly, and streams of starlight poured down through the big hole above him, it looked like he was bathed in a silver light.
Under him there was a rather mysterious array formation.
This array was composed of seven big star patterns, each of which was the size of a round cushion. They were shining brightly and they all connected to form the shape of the Big Dipper.
This array was called the Big Dipper Congregation Array. It was not recorded in the Minor Big Dipper Nascent Soul, but it was derived from the reformation of another star array formation. It was a product of his observations of the stars at night the past few days and combining the attainments and insights from other array formations in his memories.
The starlight power in the sky appeared to be all the same, but in fact, there were differences. Some starlight powers were more Yin, some were more Yang and there would be some where they would be sometimes Yin and sometimes Yang, which could not be lumped together. The starlight power used in cultivating the Minor Big Dipper Nascent Skill was from the Big Dipper. The seven stars were divided into Yin and Yang, built on the four seasons and even with the Five Elements. They were mysterious and changeable.
This array was designed by Han Li according to the characteristics of the power of the seven stars and used to assist him with connecting to the starlight power of the Big Dipper.
The position he was sitting on now was the first star out of the seven stars of the big array. He suddenly opened his eyes and waved out a spell.
Buzz!
The star array below began to work and the seven stars suddenly became brighter. The first one was especially bright and white light flashed. The white light of the stars appeared out of the sky and filled the air around it and formed countless star patterns.
Han Li was immersed in this sea of stars, his body was faint and blurred.
He chanted while his fingers were constantly changing their gestures and slowly worked the magic of the Minor Big Dipper Nascent Skill.
After five minutes, there was a faint trace of crystal light between the area of his eyebrows and an amazing power of divine sense rolled out of it. After turning around, it formed an invisible vortex in the air above his head.
His hand seals changed. The divine sense vortex above his head spread out and changed slowly into a pattern that was similar to that of a nebula. In the nebula, there was also an image of the Big Dipper that echoed the big star array below.
Han Li raised his head and looked at the seven brightly shining stars in the night through the big hole at the top of the chamber, then his eyes landed on the Dubhe star and he chanted an incantation.
Bang!
The bright Dubhe star seemed to become slightly brighter for a while and countless starlight power rushed down from above and like a silver waterfall falling from the sky passed through the big hole and covered Han Li.
Han Li’s expression turned solemn.
How much one could receive of the starlight power depended on the strength of one’s divine sense. Although his divine sense at the moment was comparable to that of Immortals, he had already laid a solid foundation for cultivating this skill. But he still needed to be careful.
He made hand seals to circulate the skill.
The starlight power around him fluctuated and gathered together, turning into countless threads of crystal light that were like fine needles. They circled slightly under his divine sense and then fell like raindrops into his body.
Han Li’s body suddenly quivered and he frowned slightly, gasping aloud.
These threads of lights were completely solid. They pierced his skin directly and entered his body, as if a thousand swords had penetrated his body.
At the moment, it looked like his body was covered with needles and blood seeped out of it, soon dyeing his body red.
What was more, those threads of starlight were scurrying into his body like countless knives were wringing and breaking his bones.
If his body was not so strong, he would have cried out in pain a long time ago.
But after a while, his eyebrows gradually relaxed because he clearly felt that the threads of starlight were gradually disintegrating into the most pure power of stars and integrating into all parts of his body.
Han Li was ecstatic!
Taking a deep breath, he quickly suppressed the joy in his heart as well as the pain in his body and continued to circulate the skill.
More starlight power fell down and ruthlessly stabbed into his body. Under the urging of his skill, it began to move along in a certain way.
His body was extremely damaged. He had not been able to replenish his vital energy before and had still not recovered. At this moment, being exposed to such pure starlight power, his body quickly devoured it and he quickly recovered from the damage.
The small pinholes that were pierced by the crystal starlight disappeared in an instant and could not really hurt his body at all.
The pain of being pierced by ten thousand swords gradually faded from his mind and he was completely immersed in cultivating this new technique.
Seven days passed in a flash.
In the middle of the cavern abode, Han Li was still sitting cross-legged on the pattern of the first star. His body was full of light and every muscle was starting to shine like a star, and there was starlight appearing in his bones.
The most peculiar thing was that a little blue light was spreading on his abdomen, which was very eye-catching.
The blue light rose and shrank, as if it were breathing.
Most of the starlight power gathered were swallowed up by this light.
There was no pained expression on Han Li’s face, only calmness.
Suddenly, the astral power around him fluctuated.
The blue light on his abdomen suddenly burst into dazzling brilliance and rolled about endlessly.
The blue light flashed and a mysterious star rune appeared inside.
After rolling around for a while, the runes quickly disappeared into his body.
Han Li opened his eyes, a happy smile on his face.
With his strong body and divine sense, he was able to perfect the first level of Minor Big Dipper Nascent Skill in just a few days and successfully gathered the First Mysterious Orifice.
However, he had no intention of going out yet. Closing his eyes, he sat down again and planned to consolidate this skill.
A starless moonlit night a few days later.
In the middle of the secret chamber, Han Li had his eyes opened and his eyebrows raised. Raising his hand, he stopped the Big Dipper Congregation Array and the astral power and flecks of white light around him suddenly disappeared like the tide.
He quickly stood up, walked to the front, bent over and picked up a small dark green bottle with a narrow neck and put it near his eyes.
The small bottle was wrapped by a layer of green light, and a few strange golden symbols appeared on its surface.
However, in the next moment, this green light submerged into the dark green patterns on the bottle, but those strange golden symbols remained, protruding slightly from the surface of the bottle.
Picking up the bottle, he shook it in front of his eyes and there seemed to be a drop of liquid the size of a broad bean shaking inside.
He could not help but smile at this.
In the past few days, every time he cultivated, he would put the small bottle in the open space in front of him.
When it came to a certain time, the surface of the small bottle would be covered with a pale white light.
If he looked closely in front of his eyes, he could see that the white light was composed of countless small spots of white light, like a living thing rushing about in the small bottle, until it was completely absorbed.
It was just that such a vision did not last long. It would immediately disappear at a specific time every night.
And every two days, after the white light on the surface of the small bottle faded away, a layer of green light would appear, and then a drop of green liquid would appear inside the small bottle.
Han Li looked away and rubbed the leaf pattern on the bottle with his fingers. His movements were delicate and gentle, just like touching the cheek of his beloved.
Feeling the slight protruding texture from the bottle, his mind could not help but sway.
In a trance, he seemed to have returned to the Seven Mysteries Sect, the small medicine garden in God Hand Valley, and then to the young man who first experimented with the green liquid in the small bottle, feeling worried yet looking forward to it.
He knew that if he had not discovered that the green liquid in the bottle could enhance the properties of elixirs, he might not have been able to walk the path of cultivation, or became the first cultivator of the Human race with his his mortal body and then be admired by tens of thousands of people. As well as being named the Heavenly Venerate Han and worshipped by everyone.
If he were to say what had been with him since he stepped into the door of cultivation, there was no doubt that it was the small bottle named ‘Grasping Heaven’ in front of him.
Even in the three hundred years he was in a coma after entering the Immortal World, he lost Daoist Crab, Gold Devouring Beetle and many of his connections, he was still subconsciously protecting this object carefully and never let the bottle leave him.
He felt unclear complex emotions about this small bottle.
Han Li’s eyebrows suddenly raised and he stopped stroking the small bottle as a strange expression appeared on his face.
He opened the cap of the bottle and looked into it. The expression on his face became more strange, it seemed that he was slightly surprised and happy.
At the next moment, he closed the lid and then turned around before rushing out of the room.
