Chapter 48: Abduction
“Don’t look around. You only have the time of five breaths!”
At this time, Immortal Elder Tongxu’s voice sounded from above him. The voice sounded like thunder and shocked Fang Pan so much his heart trembled subconsciously.
He hurriedly recollected his thoughts and looked around. Apart from seeing the endless mountain streams, he saw nothing else.
However, very quickly, he felt something and looked down suddenly. Under his feet, he saw a faint pale golden-red line growing from under the water.
Fang Pan looked in the same directions, discovering that there was a faint greenish figure that appeared under the water. Suddenly, it was far and then it was near. It materialized and faded again. He wanted to get a clearer view, but he could not do it.
Just as he was about to lower himself and push his head under the water to get a closer look, the red line under him suddenly blurred and dissipated.
He froze for a moment. Before he could think about it, the scenery around him changed completely and distorted. By the time he regained his senses, he found himself still standing next to the large greenish-copper urn. He was bowed and had both hands clenching the two sides of the urn.
He looked down and saw the liquid in the urn was once again as black as ink. Everything that happened earlier felt like a dream.
“Tell me. What did you see?” The bearded elder’s voice trailed over faintly.
“I am ashamed. I was not able to see anything clearly… I only thought that the person’s figure suddenly appeared closer and farther. It was extremely blurry and I couldn’t get a clear view.” The young man shook his head as he truthfully retold everything he saw.
After some thinking, Immortal Elder Tongxu said, “They say that others see it best. The reason why you saw what you saw in the secret urn is mostly because the owner of the blood essence isn’t in the Northern cold immortal area right now. He is either in a certain hidden secret realm in the Immortal World, or maybe even… be in a lower realm that is directly connected to the Immortal World.”
“Can Immortal Elder take another step to confirm which secret realm or lower realm the person is in?” Hearing this, Fang Pan could not help but ask again.
“Ridiculous! Do you think that this Immortal World is as small as those miniature worlds? That you can find a person so easily without any marks and just with a simple drop of blood?” Immortal Elder Tongxu hummed coldly, saying with slight unhappiness.
Seeing this, Fang Pan hurriedly cupped his hands together as he said, “I was stepping over the line. Immortal Elder, please don’t take it to heart.”
After a while, outside of the Green Jade mountain.
Fang Pan stood in the air with his hands behind him. His eyes were dark and his expression was filled with malice.
“Humph! I will crush you to pieces no matter where you run in the world!”
With that said, he reached towards his waist and took out a communication device. He muttered some chants softly, before he tapped against the space between his eyebrows with a hand and pulled something out. A light immediately appeared in his palm.
The light reflected the figure of a tall young man wearing a green robe and looked normal.
With that, Fang Pan waved his hands and the light shrunk and flew into his communication device before it disappeared.
A few days later.
There was a valley in the depths of a mountain in the northwestern part of Feng Nation. A thick mist filled the valley as it roiled nonstop.
Loud cracks and clangs from the clashing of magic treasures sounded from the mist from time to time.
Suddenly, with a loud and thunder-like bang, the mist broke apart and a green light shone out from inside.
A young girl wearing a green shirt was in the light. Three green jade pieces that shone brightly floated around her as they danced around her while she floated in the air on a green jade shuttle.
The girl looked pretty and bright. It was Liu Le’er.
She had yet to fly too far when the thick mist in the valley suddenly grew thicker and five rays of light burst out from inside and hurriedly chased after her.
The aura of the lights were not weak and they all belonged to Nascent Soul cultivators.
Although Liu Le’er used all of her power to increase the speed of the flying shuttle, she was still slower than the people behind her.
Within the time of a joss stick burning, there was barely thirty yards left between them!
“Who are you and why do you continue to chase me?” Liu Le’er changed her hand seal and called out behind her.
One of the black lights in front stopped and a burly muscular man was seen. He glanced at the flying shuttle under the girl’s feet and chuckled evilly as his eyes shone with an unconcealed greed.
“Hehe, don’t ask the things you shouldn’t ask. If you understand your position, you should surrender obediently and spare yourself some trouble.”
The other four lights split into two as well and drew into two curves of light as they surrounded Liu Le’er on both sides.
The lights dissipated and four figures appeared. They were a red-faced elder, a purple-robed woman and two young men dressed in black. The two young men actually looked the same, and it appeared they were twins.
“You’re bullying the weak with numbers. Do you think that our Cold Fire Sect disciples are easy to bully?” Liu Le’er said as she glanced at the people coldly.
“You’re just a mere Core Formation cultivator, yet your words are big. Why don’t you taste my strength first!” The red-faced elder chided lowly as his robe trembled.
With a shine, a red ring shot out from his arm and morphed into several overlapping shadows that spun towards Liu Le’er.
Apart from the burly muscular man, the other three people had also taken out a magical treasure each. Using their magic, the magical treasures attacked Liu Le’er from the other directions.
Liu Le’er’s expression froze. However, as she was long prepared for the attack, she waved her arms softly and muttered under her breath as the three green jades surrounding her instantly grew several times its original size. They morphed into layers of shadows and formed shields around her.
With a loud thudder, the four piercing lights instantly exploded!
Under the relentless assault the green card shadows flickered as the spiritual glow around it dimmed drastically. However, it was still able to barely hold off the four people’s attacks.
This left the five, including the burly man extremely shocked.
“We cannot stay here for too long. We have to settle this quickly. Remember we cannot take this girl’s life.”
After the burly man instructed hoarsely, he waved a hand and an object flew out. After it twirled around, it morphed into a giant black brick of about hundred feet wide and joined the group’s assault.
With the combined attack of five Nascent Soul cultivators, the attack became even stronger and the glow on the green card shadows quickly dimmed.
However, right before the card shadows were exhausted, Liu Le’er waved a hand calmly and threw out a purplish white silk treasure. The level of this treasure seemed to be even higher than the green jade cards before.
The white silk merely twirled above the girl’s head and with a flicker, layers of pristine white light surfaced and rings of white runes spread out and covered the girl once more. She was barely visible through the dense layer of light.
The group of five was alarmed and angry. They clearly did not expect a Core Formation cultivator to have such a high-leveled magic treasure.
However, it was clearly not their first time working together. They instantly injected more magic into their own treasures at the same time.
Thunder rang loudly four times!
The white glow instantly started to tremble. However, for the time being it appeared undamaged. As soon as she activated this magic treasure, Liu Le’er hurriedly drank an elixir with one hand while she made hand seals nonstop with the other. However, her expression was tense and she felt even more nervous.
This was the first time she was faced with so many stronger enemies. After all, she was able to defeat Jia Ren, the Deity Transformation stage cultivator, that day because she depended on the Fine Burning Firebird that Han Li had temporarily granted to her. If she did not take an Extraction spirit pill before she activated the bird’s power fully, it would have been impossible for her to kill the other cultivator with a single blow.
Moreover, the only reason why she could hold on until now was because of the treasures and spirit pills Han Li gave to her before he left on his venture. Even so, the situation she was in grew graver by the second.
“No! Nothing can happen to me! I promised Brother to take good care of myself!”
The teenage girl gritted her teeth tightly and her eyes sparkled despite her pale face. She suddenly lifted her left arm and made a hand seal.
A complicated silver array formation suddenly lit up on her left arm.
With a clear chirp, a silver firebird that was smaller than before flew out. It spread its wings and flew out with a flash.
Two puffs rang at almost the same time!
“Ah, this… what is this?!”
“No…”
As the two young men dressed in black cried out in horror, silver flames surrounded them.
This happened too suddenly and before the other three could even react, the two young men dressed in black had been burned into ashes in front of them. Even their Nascent Souls were not able to escape in time and they completely disappeared from the world.
In this short delay, the red-faced elder was also swallowed by the silver flames with another silver flash. The protective spiritual glow around him was of no use and he did not even have the chance to cry out.
By the time the burly man and the purple-robed woman regained their senses, three of their colleagues had died. Their hearts were filled with fear and they hurriedly turned around to run away without another word.
Amongst the two, the former’s cultivation base was higher than the latter, so his speed was naturally faster than the woman’s.
However, the silver firebird did not even give them a chance. Like lightning, it morphed into a blurry silver glow and chased after them. The firebird flew over thousands of feet in the blink of an eye and created a hole through the purple-robed woman from behind as the silver flames disintegrated her into small specks of ash.
“Master, save…”
Seconds after the woman’s pitiful death and accompanied by a terrifying cry, the burly man was submerged in silver flames and all life left him.
The silver glow turned around like lightning in the distance and flew back into the teenage girl’s arm in a flash and disappeared.
Liu Le’er finally let out a sigh in relief, although her face was already as pale as paper. Her body shook slightly. It was clear that she could barely stand at all.
She hurriedly took out a spirit pill and ate it, before some color returned to her face.
Right at this moment, there was a sudden change!
The void above her head pulsated and a black magic claw appeared out of nowhere and strongly grabbed downwards.
Before it really landed, the void below her already started to pulsate as well and an invisible spiritual pressure pushed the teenage girl downwards.
Whoosh!
The protective white glow was already unstable to begin with and with this immense spiritual pressure, it finally broke apart!
The teenage girl’s expression changed instantly as she hurriedly wanted to gather her magic and use a skill to run away.
However, in the next second, she felt the air around her tightening. Not to mention a hand seal, she could not even move a finger. She could only watch as a black glow flew out of the magic claw that morphed into a giant black net that wrapped her up.
With a flash, the black magic claw faded into the void. A black-robed elder appeared out of nowhere in a space not too far away. His hair was white, his beard was black and his figure thin.
