“Ah!”
Liu Le’er wanted to cast magic to stop the strange blue horse, but she was too shocked and the magic in her body wasn’t working properly. She could not help but exclaim.
At the critical moment, she felt everything in front of her turn dark. It was Liu Shi who stepped forward and reached out with a flash, grabbed the neck of the strange horse which was as thick as a bucket, and turned sideways, colliding with the horse.
There was a loud bang!
Under the loud neighing, the strange blue horse seemed to have hit a massive wall. Its huge body stopped in place and because of the strong force generated, even the hard stone slab on the nearby street was kicked into pieces by its iron hooves.
The silver carriage knocked into the back of the strange blue horse because of inertia and turned to its side, flying a few feet away before landing heavily on the ground.
Although the carriage did not turn over completely, the shape of it had changed drastically as it littered things from inside all over the ground.
The driver did not sit properly and almost fell off.
The tall youth was like a nail, standing motionless in place.
The people nearby were stunned when they saw the scene. There was the sound of someone in the teahouse exclaiming ‘divine strength’.
Liu Le’er patted her chest and then looked at the tall figure in front of her, feeling a little warm in her heart.
In the past few years, whenever she encountered any danger, ‘Brother Stone’ would come forward subconsciously to protect her.
The relationship between them was even closer than family.
The strange blue horse was stopped by Liu Shi and was even more mad. It hissed and lowered its head, bashing itself against Liu Shi’s chest.
“Look out, Brother Stone!” Liu Le’er was shocked when she saw it.
Liu Shi was expressionless and the hand around the horse’s neck tightened hard.
With a thump, the legs of the strange horse buckled and its huge body was pressed down and as it kneeled before him, the stone slab on the ground shattered.
Its whole body looked like it was being pressed down by a mountain, its bones almost breaking apart. The blood-like light in its eyes faded, replaced with fear.
Faced with Liu Shi, whose strength was far greater than it, the strange horse calmed down and laid down on the ground obediently, not daring to move anymore.
“What strength! The force of a single knock from this horse beast is 2000–2500 kilograms, but this person was able to easily stop it!”
“Amazing!”
“Who’s carriage does this belong to, for them to be so daring as to recklessly run around here. If this strong man did not stop it, who knows how many people would have been hurt!”
Most of the people around finally reacted and started to discuss it.
Liu Shi then let go of the horse’s neck and stood still.
Although the strange blue horse was free from Liu Shi’s hold, it still did not dare to stand up from the ground.
“Brother Stone, are you all right?” Liu Le’er hurriedly went to check Liu Shi’s body and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that he was fine.
The driver had already turned pale and seeing how the strange horse was subdued, he slumped down weakly on the shaft of the carriage.
At this moment, the door to the carriage was pushed open and two pale young men jumped down.
The first was a man in his twenties, wearing a white Confucian robe and had a handsome face.
The other looked to be about seventeen to eighteen, his face as beautiful as jade, his eyes clear, his lips ruby red and teeth pearly white. He was wearing a long white robe, with a jade belt around his waist and a jade headpiece with a pearl the size of a pigeon egg inlaid in it. His demeanor was far from that of his companion in the Confucian robe.
“You scum, what sort of driving was that? You almost killed me!” The young man in the Confucian robe was frightened and he snatched the whip from the driver’s hand and started to beat him.
Streaks of bloody wounds appeared on the driver’s body, but he did not dare dodge. He knelt down and kowtowed for mercy.
When the young man in the Confucian robe saw this, he became more angry and whipped him faster.
“Shut up, it’s the people from the Yu family!”
“This is none of our business. Don’t talk anymore.”
As soon as they saw the faces of the two men clearly, the discussions nearby suddenly stopped and the people’s eyes on the two men all became submissive. It was obvious that they recognized them.
“Second Brother, let it pass. We can’t blame him for this. After all, this Blue Wind Horse is a low-leveled beast. It is feral in nature and is hard to tame.”
An arm suddenly stretched out and held the wrist of the man in the Confucian robe and stopped the whip from falling. It was the slightly younger man in the white robe. His voice was like the sound of spring water, very pleasant to listen to.
The young man in the Confucian robe glanced at the white-robed young man, his mouth moving slightly and he huffed, throwing the whip away.
“Thank you very much, Seventh Young Master!” The driver kowtowed to the white-robed young man.
“Get up and take these pieces of silver with you and give them as compensation to the people and stalls that were hurt by the carriage. If you handle this well, your responsibility for this will be reduced.” The white-robed young man took out a bag and handed it to the driver.
“Yes, yes.” The driver nodded repeatedly, took the silver, and went towards those people who were injured.
“Many thanks to this brother for subduing the Blue Wind Horse. It’s nothing if my brother and I are hurt that much, but if it had continued to hurt other people, we would never be able to redeem ourselves.”
When the young man in the Confucian robe saw this, he also glanced at Liu Shi. Seeing how shabby Liu Shi looked with his ordinary facial features, tanned skin, and simple blue robe, the young man’s expression became slightly contemptuous and he reluctantly cupped his hands together.
Liu Shi’s gaze was blank and he did not speak.
The young man in the Confucian robe had never been ignored by anyone before and his expression turned angry, but he was stopped by the white-robed young man.
The young man looked at Liu Shi. He noticed that Liu Shi’s gaze was strange and his heart suddenly jumped.
There were more and more people gathering, making Liu Le’er feel uneasy. She pulled Liu Shi, whispering, “Brother Stone, let’s go.”
The white-robed young man then noticed Liu Le’er. After seeing her delicate face that was like a porcelain doll, his eyes lit up and he hurried to stop her.
“Please hold on.”
“What’s the matter?” Liu Le’er stopped and raised her eyebrows, her expression fierce.
“My name is Yu Qi. I am sorry that my carriage went out of control and almost hurt the two of you,” the white-robed young man said with a big smile.
“We’re fine. Get out of our way,” Liu Le’er said with a tense expression.
“Today’s matter is thanks to the help of this brother. If I don’t repay you, I will feel really uneasy. The Yu manor is not too far from here. Why don’t you come to my residence and do us the honor of being our guests?” Yu Qi said slowly.
“There’s no need. It’s no trouble at all for the matter just now. We siblings still have something to do.” Le’er shook her head with no hesitation and pulled Liu Shi, wanting to go around the person in front of her.
“Please wait. You say you have something to do, could it be that you want to seek medical treatment for your brother?” Yu Qi asked seriously as he blocked them again after looking at the tall youth.
“How… How do you know this?” Le’er was startled and showed a surprised expression.
“I was born with a sensitive nose. You have some herbal smell on you so you should have just come out of the nearby Chrysanthemum House. Although the strength of this brother is amazing, it seems like his soul is obstructed so I guessed as much. It seems like I was right.” Yu Qi looked at the Chrysanthemum House that was not far away and smiled. Although he was dressed as a man, there was a trace of charm in this smile.
Even Le’er, a female who looked younger, was in a daze from the smile. But she quickly turned her head to look at Liu Shi beside her. She did not know why but she felt slightly relieved when she saw that her ‘Brother Stone’ was still expressionless.
The white-robed young man at the moment had already replaced his ‘stunning’ smile and continued.
“Little Sister, our Yu family has some influence in Mingyuan City. We know a lot of famous doctors and if you’re seeking medical treatment, we should be able to help.”
“Yes, we came to seek medical treatment, but Brother’s illness can’t be cured by a general practitioner.” Liu Le’er still shook her head.
“So it seems like your brother’s condition is not ordinary. But it doesn’t matter. We have an Immortal Master as a guest in our Yu family. He has excellent medical skills, which are far beyond those of ordinary mortal doctors. Why don’t I ask him to take a look at your brother?” Yu Qi frowned, but after looking at Liu Shi and Le’er, he smiled again.
“Immortal Master…” Liu Le’er’s eyes lit up and she hesitated.
“Please don’t refuse and let me do what I can. I’m not boasting, but although there are other Immortal Masters in Mingyuan City, the one in our manor has the best medical skills.” Yu Qi’s eyes moved around slightly before he said proudly.
“Okay, we can go back with you. But if this Immortal Master can’t cure my brother, we will leave at once.” Liu Le’er was finally moved by the last words of the white-robed young man and reluctantly agreed.
“Of course. By the way, I haven’t asked for your names yet,” Yu Qi was happy that Liu Le’er agreed and immediately asked again.
Liu Le’er hesitated for a moment but still gave her name and Liu Shi’s.
“So it’s Sister Le’er and Brother Liu Shi.” Yu Qi nodded.
“Seventh Brother, these two people are of unknown origins. How could you bring them back and even let the Immortal treat his illness?” That young man in a Confucian robe did not have a pleasant expression as he had been ignored for some time and he could not help interrupting.
“No problem. I know what I’m doing. Second Brother, you don’t have to worry about it.” Yu Qi waved his hands as he spoke.
The young man in the Confucian robe seemed to be a little afraid of this younger brother. His lips moved a few times, as if he wanted to say something, but he did not say it in the end.
At this moment, several street guards in bright clothing with swords rushed over.
Seeing this, the onlookers suddenly dispersed. It seemed like they were very afraid of these people.
The guards did not pay attention to the people around them and hurriedly bowed to Yu Qi and his brother.
“Seventh Young Master, Second Young Master, we came late. Please forgive us.”
“We’re fine, don’t make a fuss. Take the carriage back and don’t make this matter public,” Yu Qi said.
“Yes.”
The guards were obedient. They immediately took the strange blue horse and left.
“Please follow me.” After the white-robed young man handled that, he turned and smiled at Liu Le’er and walked forward.
Liu Le’er looked at Liu Shi, grabbed his hand tightly and followed behind Yu Qi.
The expression on the young man in the Confucian robe became darker as he looked at them leaving. He stood on the spot for a while and then snorted, striding forward to follow after them.
“Haha, interesting! She is the one said to have a good cultivation base. The Prime Minister of Feng Nation was planning to make great efforts to send her to the Cold Fire Sect.” Not far away, at an inconspicuous corner of the street, two people turned around suddenly. The young man dressed in black in front, who had slender eyes, looked at Yu Qi and the rest walking away, his expression full of unspeakable evilness.
“Junior Brother, you have to be more careful. It’s said that there are also unaffiliated cultivators in the Yu manor. We can’t underestimate them.” There was another person behind the young man in black, but he was a thin man in gray clothes. There were several bulging hide bags hanging on his waist. He was also looking at the retreating figures of the people from the Yu family.
“Senior Brother Fan, I know how to do it. But this Yu family is my first trial mission. You’re just here to assist me. If there’s no special reason, you don’t have to do anything. I’ll take care of everything.” The young man in black disapproved when he heard the other man.
When the man in gray clothes saw this, he gave a wry smile and said nothing more.
He was very clear about the disposition of his Junior Brother. Although his cultivation base was not high, he had his clan elders to back him up and had never taken other Senior and Junior Brothers of the same rank seriously.
While they were talking, their figures blurred and they disappeared.
