Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Gong Siyu Is a Big Fat Liar, Verification Complete
The servants led Ji Yunai to a small table with a parasol, for afternoon tea, in the garden of the mansion.
Wen Yu had ordered the servant to prepare and serve the desserts and black tea in an orderly manner.
She remained seated elegantly while waiting for Ji Younai, as though she was the mistress of the mansion.
Ji Younai casually weaved her long black hair into a loose braid that hung down the side of her chest. Wearing a black silk halter dress, she carefully and cautiously sat down at the side.
She felt like Wen Yu really was just the other owner of this mansion.
On the other hand, she was the “other woman” whom the master of the mansion brought home when the mistress was not around.
‘Wen Yu is really beautiful.’
‘She should be mixed-race.’
She had long, silky chestnut-colored curly tresses.
Her features were defined and pronounced, yet she had the delicate perfection of an oriental woman.
There was a fine and beautifully-winged eyeliner on her eyelids, which were perfectly creased and covered in some faint peach-pink eyeshadow. She looked a little coquettish but still pretty and sweet at the same time, and she had pale yet rosy skin that seemed exquisite and delicate.
She was wearing a Chanel-style suit that was themed around the colors white and pink. Her mannerisms were full of nobility, and she behaved like an upper-class socialite.
But every smile of hers made her seem gentle, sweet, tamed, and meek like a kitten that was lively but not mischievous.
Although Wen Yu was very beautiful, she was obviously the type who was good at playing cute and acting coquettishly.
All men loved such women.
‘Gong Siyu should like girls like her too, right?’
‘What am I then?’
Ji Younai was confused again.
Wen Yu was very warm and friendly to Ji Younai. She poured tea for Ji Younai and placed some lovely and exquisite macarons on Ji Younai’s plate. “These macarons are air-flown from Paris. Brother Siyu knows I love eating them ever since I was a child, so I always have them at home.”
Ji Younai continued to stay silent.
She stole a glance at Wen Yu with a look of apprehension in her eyes.
‘Are you sure?’
She had eaten those macarons in the kitchen before.
When she tried them the other day, she felt that they tasted terrible, and Gong Siyu tried them too.
The two of them both thought that it was too sweet and decided to throw them all away.
She was puzzled as to why there were suddenly so many of them.
“Have you been staying in the guest room?”
“…”
Ji Younai continued to stay silent.
She simply thought to herself, ‘I sleep together with Gong Siyu.’
“You should be staying in the guest room.” Wen Yu sipped on some black tea while her tiny lips that were covered in pink lipstick curled up happily. Seemingly trying to show off, she said, “I thought Brother Siyu would let you sleep in my room. The mattress on the bed in my room is very comfortable. Brother Siyu especially got someone to purchase it for me from Italy during the renovation period when he first purchased this property.”
“…”
‘Oh, what an expensive mattress.’
At this moment, Granny Yang, who was passing by, interrupted.
“Ms. Wen, Young Master dotes on you so much. How could he allow an outsider to sleep in your room?”
“You can’t say that. This Sister is the one who saved Brother Siyu’s life!”
Finally, Ji Younai spoke up.
She looked up, her almond-shaped eyes full of innocence.
She muttered softly with uncertainty, “Sister? I’m only 18 years old this year… Are you younger than I am?”
‘You’re younger than me, and you’re actually underaged. Yet, you’re all dolled up like an older woman. That’s your fault!’
Slightly stunned, Wen Yu was speechless. She smiled with some embarrassment before restoring her princess-like demeanor and behavior.
“Ah, so you’re younger than I am. It seems I should address you like you’re a younger sister. I’m 24 years old this year.”
“…” The silence continued.
“Brother Siyu and I grew up together. We’ve been living together with the Gong Family. We used to go to school and get off together. We’re very close, do you know?”
“For my sake, Brother Siyu has never gotten a girlfriend, and those women who adore him just love bullying me whenever they see me. Brother Siyu would teach them a hard lesson for me!”
“…”
Ji Younai continued to remain silent.
It turned out that Gong Siyu and Wen Yu were childhood sweethearts who had grown up together.
From Wen Yu’s words, Ji Younai got another piece of information.
Gong Siyu really doted on Wen Yu and was willing to not get any girlfriends for her sake.
They were childhood sweethearts, and they lived together.
The answer was already obvious.
“You guys are an item, right?”
That was the one answer that Ji Younai had concluded on her own.
It was a cruel and harsh answer.
However, Wen Yu didn’t answer her directly. She simply smiled sweetly and gave Ji Younai’s hand a light pat. “Hey, you shouldn’t be so direct about it. As a girl, I’m really embarrassed.”
“Okay.”
She answered gently with just one word.
Ji Younai lowered her head, hiding the sadness in her eyes and the sorrowful bitterness in her heart.
However, Wen Yu spoke again, and this time, she broke Ji Younai’s heart completely into pieces. It hurt so badly that she wanted to run away.
“You probably don’t know this, but when we were younger, Grandpa Gong even mentioned that he wanted to let me marry Brother Siyu.”
Wen Yu looked at Ji Younai with her pair of alluring eyes, her lips still curved in a smile.
When she saw Ji Yunai hanging her head low quietly and remaining silent cowardly with a sense of inferiority—like an ugly duckling who did not even dare to straighten her back in front of her—she knew that she had won.
At one point, Wen Yu thought that Ji Younai would be difficult to deal with.
After all, Wen Yu had grown up in the Gong Family ever since she was a child and had witnessed the power struggle between women who vie with each other to get to the top.
However, she discovered that Ji Younai, who could not even be considered a woman, did not have what it took to vie with her.
She seemed to be too lazy to continue talking about irrelevant things.
She decided to get straight to the point and make Ji Younai get out of her and Gong Siyu’s sight.
Her voice was gentle and warm, making her sound affectionate and personable.
“Ms. Ji, do you plan to continue staying here?”
“…” She wanted to leave, but Gong Siyu refused to let her go.
“Don’t you have a home of your own? Would your parents… approve of you living in a stranger’s home?”
She went on, “I think that it’s not appropriate for you, a girl, to casually move into someone else’s home, even if you’re Brother Siyu’s savior. Or… do you intend to gain something? Is that why you’re hesitant to leave?”
Ji Younai left.
She left without even turning around.
She only took her ID, bank account card, cellphone, and Blood Spirit Jade pendant, which would allow her to never see ghosts again, with her.
She was not a shameless dog that did not want to leave Gong Siyu’s home.
She was not an easy woman like what Wen Yu said either.
However, she was extremely miserable.
After leaving Gong Siyu’s mansion sadly, she walked for a few kilometers and stopped by a sycamore tree on a remote path. She then began sobbing and crying with tears in her eyes. She looked as helpless as a child and was heartbreakingly aggrieved.
‘He clearly has a girlfriend whom he grew up together with!’
‘Yet, he wants me to stay with him forever!’
‘Gong Si Yu, I’ll never speak to you again!’
‘Big fat liar!’
Ji Younai squatted on the ground and cried for a long time before stopping.
She took out her cellphone and deleted the phone calls and text messages that she had exchanged with Gong Siyu.
Her almond-shaped eyes were as red as a rabbit’s, and she pretended to be strong as she unlocked the call log unhurriedly.
While sobbing, she made a wishlist.
She felt that if she could check everything off the wish list, she would feel better.
…
Ji Younai was still sobbing and holding onto her cellphone.
The late afternoon sun was strong, casting warm rays of sunlight through the dappled forest shadows on top of her head, warming it.
However, Ji Younai suddenly felt a gust of cold wind blowing from behind her body.
Next, the sunlight above her head seemed to have been blocked as the surroundings turned dark.
She looked up with confusion, only to discover that a tall and burly man in a white suit was standing in front of her. He did not make any sounds when walking. He had remained silent. His strange and sudden appearance gave Ji Younai a great shock.
