Chapter 24: Attending The School Commencement Ceremony
Upon hearing Qu Xiaowan’s words, Qu Yun felt that this reason was very reasonable and did not think too much about it. However, he said, “I heard from the principal that Commander Jing will come over to speak at the school commencement ceremony.”
Qu Xiaowan exclaimed, “Huh? He’s going to attend the new students’ school commencement ceremony?”
Qu Yun asked in confusion, “Don’t you know?”
Qu Xiaowan hurriedly took a few deep breaths and forced herself to calm down. Then, she said seriously, “Commander Jing’s schedule is confidential. How can I know?”
Qu Yun dispelled his doubts and said, “That’s true, but Xiaowan, how did you get together with Commander Jing?”
Everyone in the Interstellar Federation probably wanted to know the answer, but Qu Xiaowan didn’t want to talk about it. She only left after a few perfunctory words.
The thought of Jing Yu participating in the school commencement ceremony gave Qu Xiaowan a headache. She looked at the AI in a dilemma, wondering if she should send a message to Jing Yu. However, after some thought, she decided not to. The other party might not even remember that she was here. After she sent the message, it was equivalent to exposing herself. She wished that Jing Yu had forgotten about her.
Blackie the AI gave a friendly reminder. “Mistress, every time Commander Jing checks his personal information, he will see your name written on the spouse column. He will think of you.”
Qu Xiaowan’s face darkened. “Shut up!”
Blackie shrank its non-existent neck. “Yes, Mistress!”
After Qu Xiaowan reported to school, she walked to her dormitory and even asked Blackie to pull out the guest list for the past freshmen’s ceremonies. She realized that Jing Yu had never participated in the school commencement ceremony of Chinese universities in the past few years.
“Could it be that he’s too busy? Actually, the school invites him every year, but he doesn’t have time to come?” Qu Xiaowan guessed.
He had no time in the past few years, so it would definitely be the same this year! At the thought of this, she put her heart back into her chest and went to the dormitory.
The male and female students of the medical school were all in the same dormitory building. Someone had also asked why the male and female dormitories were not separated. A senior who had graduated many years ago explained, “There is no distinction between species in front of a scalpel. How can there be a difference between male and female?” Everyone was enlightened!
The dormitory of the medical school was a suite with three bedrooms and a hall. The living room was public, and every room had an independent bathroom. It was quite convenient.
Qu Xiaowan had just scrolled through her roommate’s personal information when she realized that two of the rooms were already occupied. The door was closed, and only the door in the middle was open, indicating that no one had checked in yet.
Qu Xiaowan first sent the location to the robots and asked them to send her luggage over. Her two roommates still did not open the door when she was done packing. It seemed like these two roommates of hers were not easy to get along with!
But right now, she didn’t have time to worry about this. She was praying in her heart that Jing Yu wouldn’t have time to attend the school commencement ceremony today! If not for the fact that the school commencement ceremony was counted as credits, she would have run away!
In the remaining half of the day, Qu Xiaowan quickly browsed through the information about the school and even had a meal in the canteen. The food in the canteen was much worse than her family’s. However, she could understand that in the interstellar era, conditions were limited. Many people only cared about eating their fill and did not care about the taste of the food. Some schools did not even set up a canteen and simply distributed nutrient solutions to their students. Because China University was the top academic institution in the Federation of China, they were equipped with a canteen.
However, Qu Xiaowan was very picky. She remembered that there was a large empty space in the living room of the dormitory. She would ask her roommates for their opinions and turn that empty space into a kitchen. However, she would buy a house for her future live-stream.
Soon, it was time for the school commencement ceremony. Just as Qu Xiaowan was about to go to the hall, the door of the room on the left opened and a girl with red curly hair walked out.
The girl’s eyes were very deep and three-dimensional. She had fair skin and was stunned when she saw Qu Xiaowan.
Qu Xiaowan greeted her graciously, “Hello, I’m Qu Xiaowan from the Medical Faculty.”
The red-haired girl asked arrogantly, “Which district are you from?”
“District Two.” Qu Xiaowan answered.
When she heard that she was from District Two, the arrogance on the red-haired girl’s face was still there. She did not introduce herself and even flicked her hair before leaving without waiting for Qu Xiaowan.
Qu Xiaowan was not angry. China University was filled with talents. There were many nobles with powerful backgrounds, geniuses with outstanding intelligence, and geniuses with powerful backgrounds. This red-haired girl should have a high status.
Qu Xiaowan was about to leave when another door opened and a young girl with short brown hair walked out. The girl looked at Qu Xiaowan and reminded her, “You have to wear your school uniform to the school commencement ceremony.”
