Chapter 38: Little Childhood Sweetheart Is Quite Feisty (Part 38)
“Little idiot, happy birthday.” Qi He opened his arms with wishful thoughts on his mind.
If she were so touched, she would definitely hug him, right?
Alas, Little Chief merely glanced askew at him. She hadn’t understood what he wanted.
Beaming, she took the cake box from him and squatted by the roadside, before opening the box.
Qi He was speechless…
To be frank, this wasn’t the love he had visualized. His young heart had been smashed to pieces in a second.
The cake wasn’t big as Qi He didn’t have a sweet tooth, so he only bought an eight-inch cake. Qi He cut the cake into four slices before giving Fanxing her first slice. He held the remaining slices in his hands as he gazed seriously at her.
Little idiot, when will she ever get the point?
He was heartbroken.
Soon, Qi He got bored as he stood with the cake. He dipped his finger into the cream before smearing it on Fanxing’s cheek. In no time, he turned her fair little face into a little kitten.
Little Chief didn’t respond as she was too engrossed with eating.
Qi He smeared both of her cheeks again. Fanxing giggled happily as though this was a really fun game she was enjoying.
Both of them had also smeared cream on each other’s faces when they celebrated Fanxing’s previous birthdays.
Little Chief sighed in her heart. She glanced at the half-eaten slice of cake in her hand. Little flower seemed to really like this game.
All right then, she would play with him.
Smash!
She darted as quickly as a bolt of lightning with the cake in her hand and pressed it against Qi He’s face.
He had experienced this little idiot’s strength before! Qi He only felt a blast as though a hurricane had smacked his face! Warm blood then flowed from his nose. He really pitied himself at that moment!
The white cream and crimson blood were soon blended together. It was a tragic scene from a TV series.
Fanxing watched as blood flowed from Qi He’s nose, and she belatedly realized that she had gotten into trouble. She squeezed the hem of her dress with a hand and used the other hand to wipe the cream off Qi He’s face gingerly.
She leaned forward and blew at his nose.
“Is it still painful?” Please don’t let his nose be broken!
Her breath landed on Qi He’s face, and his heart pumped violently. Without hesitating, he replied, “It’s painful! Continue to blow!”
Damn it! This was worth it!
She was right in front of him, and she was so gentle and soft. He wouldn’t mind if she really did break his nose, instead of him just bleeding from his nose after she had smacked it with a slice of cake.
Wei Zizhuo had tailed her all the way here, and he witnessed the entire incident from afar. That scene was so wonderful that he wanted to snatch her away on a whim and then destroy her! She didn’t only have the dim-witted side, she was also quick-witted…!
“Little idiot, this is for you.” Qi He whipped out a sapphire-blue box from his pocket. There was a ring inside.
He had spent the entire vacation working so that he could buy this ring. Taking advantage of the fact that she wouldn’t understand what a ring represented, he would make her wear the ring first. He was a scheming man.
Fanxing tilted her head as she admired the dazzling tiny ring on her finger.
It was so pretty, she liked it!
…
After Yun Jiayue’s birthday celebration, her attitude towards Fanxing had improved.
She had become an adult, and there were many things that she ought to know. She had to learn to plan and scheme and not simply wallow in her jealousy. A girl with no foresight wouldn’t amount to anything in life.
After Xie Huixiu explained to Yun Jiayue, she understood what kind of a role Fanxing would play.
Although she couldn’t bring herself to treat Fanxing as her sister, she managed to act as though she did.
She would bring Little Chief out with her, showering her with kindness. However, she would always either intentionally or otherwise get Wen Renru to go out with them.
She knew that Wen Renru liked Fanxing. Ever since Fanxing appeared, his attention had been on her.
Although getting Fanxing as a replacement was an act that she had sneered at with disdain, she knew that she was destined to marry Wei Zizhuo; therefore, it was a good idea to get Fanxing to distract Wen Renru.
However, Yun Jiayue hadn’t noticed that Wei Zizhuo would occasionally be gazing at Fanxing with an ominous and dark expression in his eyes.
