Chapter 45: A Fight
“You want my bow so badly?” asked Gu Qingshan as he looked at Huang Hui.
Huang Hui cracked a smile, and there was a mocking look on his face as he replied, “You little thief, that’s MY bow.”
One of the policemen walked up and said, “According to procedure, you are now a suspect. After we verify your personal details, you can look for a lawyer.”
Gu Qingshan looked at the policeman and passed his optical computer over.
The policeman felt all his hair stand on end when Gu Qingshan looked at him that way. It was as if an ancient beast had opened its eyes and was staring straight at him.
He gulped and pulled out the scanner from his waist, then scanned the optical computer.
DEE!
“Gathering personal data.”
“Unauthorized access. Access denied.”
Those were the messages that came out from the policemen’s optical computer.
The relaxed faces on the other policemen instantly disappeared.
“Team Leader Zhang, I think this boy is of some standing, so you have to scan his computer personally,” said one of the policemen.
“I’ll do it.”
The team leader walked up, took Gu Qingshan’s personal optical computer, and scanned it.
DEE!
“Gathering personal data.”
“Unauthorized access. Access denied.”
All the other policemen exchanged glances as their hearts began to sink.
They thought that they had the upper hand and they could use their authority to bully Gu Qingshan, but the current situation looked more like they were fighting with a deity.
If they didn’t handle this properly, they wouldn’t get out of here in one piece.
Their faces started looking more respectful without them even realizing it.
One of the policemen squeezed a stiff smile out at Gu Qingshan and said, “Please wait for a while.”
After that, the policemen started looking toward the crowd like they were asking for help.
“You guys can’t even settle a simple thing like this, and I actually have to do it myself,” said a young man lazily as he walked out from behind Huang Hui.
He had been sent here to control the situation.
He took a scanner out from his sleeve and scanned Gu Qingshan’s personal optical computer.
DEE!
The scanner started to work, and rows and rows of data flashed through the screen.
“Hoho, so I had to make an appearance after all, eh?” remarked the young man smugly.
Suddenly, a voice came out of the scanner.
This electronic voice seemed to sound like a warning.
“There have been too many access requests over a very short period of time, so the security level will increase.”
“Unauthorized access. Access denied.”
Everyone was stunned and started looking strangely at Gu Qingshan.
Where did this guy come from? Why couldn’t the police even check his personal data?
Some of the men who had purposely come along with Huang Hui to handle this matter knew how Gu Qingshan was related to the president.
But they never expected that Gu Qingshan would be so highly protected by the Impartiality Goddess.
From the looks of it, going the legal way wasn’t going to work.
Huang Hui suddenly smiled and said, “If I had known things would turn out like this, then we would have just gone head-on in the first place.”
He waved his hand.
A few inconspicuous men walked out from the corner of the room and stared intensely at Gu Qingshan.
They walked over and surrounded him without making a single sound, but their presence and manner attracted Gu Qingshan’s attention.
“How interesting. Since when were Spirit Power practitioners slaves of the wealthy?” said Gu Qingshan with a laugh.
The expressions of the men who walked over immediately changed when they heard these words.
“You little punk! You deserve to die.”
One of them said this while taking large steps over with a black-colored force in his hands.
“Spirit Power of Darkness? What a waste on you.”
Gu Qingshan said those words as he raised his bow and shot an arrow.
Gu Qingshan’s actions seemed very slow, but by the time the men surrounding him wanted to react, they were already too late.
The bow was like a bolt of lightning that shocked the string and sent the arrow flying so quickly that it became only a shadow.
The fight ended the moment it started.
There were bloodcurdling howls ringing throughout the place.
Everyone only saw a blur before realizing that those few Spirit Power practitioners had been sent flying.
When they turned to look, they all gasped instantly.
Five of them were pinned to the wall at the back with their legs still suspended in the air.
The arrows had pierced through their shoulders, thighs, and then straight into the white walls.
Fresh blood started flowing down the wall.
One of them raised his left hand in indignation.
With a VOOM! A strong flame rose from his hand.
He was about to make a move when he heard a voice come from across the wall.
“Between you and me, who do you think is faster?”
Gu Qingshan said these words very quietly.
The bow in his hand was still raised, but the air around him had changed in an instant.
He now emanated an icy-cold intention to kill and had his eyes locked on the Elemental Arts Experts on the wall.
Those with the Spirit Power of Darkness generally found it difficult to grasp its technique and couldn’t do much damage, so he didn’t need to bother himself too much with that one.
But those with the Spirit Power of Fire were different.
Out of the Five Elements, Fire carried the highest damage. If this Elemental Arts Expert decided to make a move, Gu Qingshan would definitely kill him immediately without hesitation.
But that Elemental Arts Expert was already an old hand in fighting. After he felt that strong intention to kill from Gu Qingshan and looked at how coldly Gu Qingshan was looking at him, he knew that he had hit a dead end this time.
He had developed his Spirit Power of Fire very late, so now he had only just reached the second stage, Roaring Flame. He had just reached it, so even though it could do quite a bit of damage, he couldn’t wield it naturally because he needed more time to accumulate Spirit Power.
Gu Qingshan’s arrows were too fast. They were too fast for anyone to react to, and too fast for him to attack.
If Gu Qingshan had not aimed at his shoulder but aimed at somewhere else that would prove fatal…
He sighed deeply and put his hand down helplessly.
The flame was instantly extinguished.
The whole place fell silent.
Gu Qingshan walked over to Huang Hui.
PAK!
He gave Huang Hui a hard slap, and Huang Hui collapsed onto the floor.
“How dare you hit me! I’m the second son of the Huang family! You’re dead meat!” Huang Hui shrieked like a vengeful spirit with a face full of blood.
Gu Qingshan stepped on his chest and said, “I know there’s someone backing you, but tell me, if I decide to kill you now, do you think anyone will be here in time to rescue you?”
Huang Hui immediately shut his mouth.
Gu Qingshan understood what was going on after he saw the way Huang Hui reacted.
Someone had instructed this brainless, rich man’s son to create trouble for him.
There was no point in fighting with this brainless guy.
But who was the one behind him?
It was probably the families of the nine county magistrates.
They seemed to be very concerned about Su Xue’er.
This didn’t seem right.
Generally speaking, a daughter of an aristocratic family normally wouldn’t attract the attention of so many other aristocratic families.
Could it be that Su Xue’er could benefit them in a special way?
Gu Qingshan was still thinking about these things quietly when the other young men watching were almost going mad.
Many of them took out their communication devices and started calling their families. Some of them even pointed at Gu Qingshan and shouted loudly, “You lowly punk! How dare you hit Young Master Hui! Nobody can save you now, so prepare to die!”
The policemen looked at the bow in Gu Qingshan’s hands, then back at the five men hanging on the wall. They decided against acting rashly, so they quietly retreated and used their communication devices to call for backup.
“Hurry up, I’m waiting for all of you,” said Gu Qingshan.
He walked back to his lane, nocked another arrow to his bow, and continued practicing his archery technique.
He knew that if he didn’t teach these wastrels a good lesson today and make sure they were too fearful to do anything after this, they wouldn’t let him go, and they would keep finding an opportunity to attack him in the future.
He was going to make sure they were really scared this time. Only then would this matter really come to a close.
At this moment, the main door of the archery range suddenly opened.
A delightful female voice could be heard.
“Hmm? Why are so many people standing in the archery range and not moving at all? What’s going on?”
This voice was accompanied by a beautiful young lady with fiery red hair as she walked in from outside the main door.
There were two rows of men in suits behind the young lady. All of them were special bodyguards who wore the badge of the Federation.
