This was already within the slum area. There weren’t any closed-circuit cameras around here; there wasn’t even a single pedestrian.
Those professional killers had chosen a really good location and time to silence him.
Ironically, this also removed any concerns Gu Qingshan had had.
The ear-piercing sound of police sirens rang out from afar.
Gu Qingshan lifted his head to look and saw a small police shuttle flying over quickly.
Since there wasn’t a single person around, nobody could have called the police. The timing of the police was also way too coincidental, so this had definitely all been arranged beforehand.
If everything went according to plan, then Gu Qingshan should have been stabbed to death by the road. Then, when the police came, they would find a dagger and consider it as evidence before simply closing the case.
By the time Su Xue’er would have gotten the news and sent people to investigate, they wouldn’t have been able to find anything.
By the next day, someone would turn himself in and say that he’d got into a drunken fight with Gu Qingshan and accidentally killed him.
Since Gu Qingshan would be already dead, there’d be nothing that Su Xue’er could do.
So this whole thing would have come to a close.
Gu Qingshan looked coldly at the flying police shuttle, then picked up the last surviving young man before disappearing swiftly into the darkness.
On the other side.
At a casino.
Nie Yun looked at the cards in his hand and said, “Deal the cards. I’ll continue to follow.”
The female croupier couldn’t help but wipe away the perspiration on her forehead. She took a deep breath before dealing the cards to the two players.
“Young Master Nie, there’s no need to risk so much,” said the man wearing sunglasses with slicked-back hair sitting across him.
There was a beautiful figure hiding behind the chair that the man wearing sunglasses was sitting on. She didn’t even dare to peek her head out.
Nie Yun wasn’t bothered by any of this. “It’s just two million. If you can’t afford to play, then don’t.”
“Two million doesn’t count for much, but you’re asking for the top beauty in my hands, and I can’t bear to part with her,” replied the man.
“I can increase the amount of money,” said Nie Yun.
The man could feel the beautiful figure behind him tremble slightly, so he laughed bitterly and said, “This beauty isn’t for sale. Why don’t you let her off and I’ll send you two amazing beauties?”
Nie Yun said, “This woman dared to splash wine into my face, so I want her to understand a few things about etiquette.”
The middle-aged man in a white shirt and black bowtie walked in and whispered a few things to Nie Yun.
Nie Yun immediately slapped him and asked in a cold voice, “And who was the one who said there would be no problems?”
The middle-aged man hung his head and said, “I’m sorry, Young Master. Please give me an hour’s time and I’ll send someone to settle this matter.”
Nie Yun said, “You have only half an hour.”
The man paused for a while, then said, “Got it. I’ll go personally.”
He turned and left quickly.
“What’s wrong, Young Master Nie? Something troubling you? Why don’t I help you settle it?” said the man wearing sunglasses with slicked-back hair.
Nie Yun scoffed and replied, “What do you want?”
The man with sunglasses put up a hand. “Very simple. I help you settle this problem, and you let my girl off.”
Nie Yun thought about it for a while, then he suddenly smiled. “Why don’t we do something more exciting?”
The man grimaced in his heart, but kept a smile on as he replied, “Tell me more.”
He normally didn’t bother entertaining these men who only cared about spending money and having fun, but Nie Yun belonged to the most powerful aristocratic family other than the Su family within Changning County.
The man wearing sunglasses had spent many years mixing with people on both sides of the law, so he knew very well that if he wanted to do anything in this territory, he must never offend this young master in front of him.
Nie Yun turned on his own communications optical computer and projected the image on a blank, white wall.
Nie Yun said, “The image you’re seeing right now is from my subordinate. I just instructed him to turn on the live recording function, so we can now see him moving quickly.”
The man wearing sunglasses nodded. “That’s right.”
Nie Yun said, “He’s going to kill somebody, so let’s bet on how many moves he’ll need to kill the other party.”
The man wearing sunglasses asked hesitantly, “Who’s the other party?”
“A poor student. By the way, I’m betting on one move only,” said Nie Yun as he gave this instruction into the communication device.
The man wearing sunglasses laughed hollowly. “Your subordinate is a Martial Arts Master, which means he will only need one move to kill any Martial Arts practitioners below Five Stars.”
Martial Arts practitioners had to reach Nine Stars in order to break through the Martial Arts Master stage.
Once one reached Martial Arts Master level, this person would bid goodbye to being an ordinary person. Even the army couldn’t deal with such a person. Unless they used a group of battle-ready mechas, they couldn’t win against such a person.
Martial Arts Masters were as highly regarded as those from powerful families. Everyone respected them, and everyone treated them with great reverence.
“Are you going to bet or not? If you don’t want to bet, then this deal is off, so don’t blame me for becoming nasty,” said Nie Yun impatiently.
“All right then.” The man wearing sunglasses took a deep breath. “Then, I’ll bet that he won’t be able to kill that poor fellow with one move.”
“That’s the way. If you win, this two million is yours.” There was a smug look on Nie Yun’s face.
“If I lose?”
Nie Yun replied, “Then both the money and the girl is mine.”
The man flinched, and he was about to refuse this offer when a voice behind him who said, “Bet with him.”
He whispered back, “What if we lose?”
The beautiful figure behind him stopped trembling and whispered, “If we lose, then kill everyone in the Nie family, pull all his clothes off, and put him up for sale.”
She added, “At most, I’ll just give up this mission and go home.”
The man wearing sunglasses felt a chill in his heart. This lady behind him wasn’t going to take any more of this behavior.
He looked back at the arrogant and rude Nie Yun and sighed in his heart. “All right, deal.”
Nie Yun snapped his fingers then smiled as he picked up his wine glass. “Excellent. Let’s quietly watch Ferocious Tiger go on a hunt, then. Watching Martial Arts Masters kill others is a sort of enjoyment too.”
On the other side, the Martial Arts Master on an assassination mission was moving at high speed.
It was late at night, so the dim streetlamps whizzed past him continuously. The whole city was now asleep, and his movements were light and nimble, so he didn’t make a single sound as he moved and didn’t disrupt anybody’s sleep at all.
He was the Lead Hired Expert of the Nie family and had a vicious and cruel personality. He had remained the head of all the Martial Arts practitioners of the Nie family and had made a huge name for himself many years ago. So the Martial Arts world had nicknamed him “Ferocious Tiger”.
That poor fellow lived in a block within the slum. 22nd story, third room from the left.
Ferocious Tiger was very clear on his mission.
He would open the door, rush in, kill the boy. That was it.
But he definitely couldn’t be careless about it. After all, there was no news from the entire group of men he had hired earlier. He couldn’t contact them and couldn’t locate them either.
This was very strange.
Just as he was thinking about it, his communication device suddenly rang.
“Ferocious Tiger, the boy you want is with me.”
Ferocious Tiger was surprised. He replied, “Didn’t I tell you to kill him off on the spot?”
“Oh no no, I think you should increase the price.”
D*mn it. Ferocious Tiger cursed in his heart. So that’s what happened.
These pieces of trash from the lowest rung of society dared to actually increase their price at the last minute. Was the reputation of Ferocious Tiger not sufficient to scare them into obedience?
Ferocious Tiger had a sinister smile on his face and tried hard to sound calm. “Of course we could discuss the price further. Where are you guys?”
“I’ll be waiting for you at the boy’s place. I believe you know where he lives.”
He hung up.
Ferocious Tiger roared angrily and punched the advertising board by the roadside so hard that it exploded.
Ferocious Tiger couldn’t believe these people dared to negotiate for a higher price with him. He was going to make sure they knew that he wasn’t named “Ferocious Tiger” for nothing.
He increased his speed of movement and looked like a gray shooting star zooming through the night sky.
After five minutes, Ferocious Tiger stood on the 22nd story of that building. He checked the unit number, then kicked the door open.
