The sun had already set in the west and the people on the streets started to get busy.
Yi Qiu tossed the last cigarette butt. A full day of looking at long legs made him feel better.
As for death, Yi Qiu had faced it before. In that distant grey memory, being buried in ruins to slowly wait for death, he had already faced the most terrifying enemy in life.
But being killed by a wild boar really wasn’t a happy memory.
One didn’t enter the dungeon with one’s physical body, it was more of a projection. Thus, death would just be a painful memory as well as the sense of powerlessness and weakness that came from the soul. This weakness of the soul would last for 24 hours and one couldn’t enter the dungeon when one was in such a state.
Calculating the time, his package was nearly here. Yi Qiu was prepared to go home.
Yi Qiu stayed in City C, a normal second string city in the south. His mother was teaching in a university in this city when she was alive and the university gave her a house. When his parents both died in an earthquake and his hometown turned into rubble, this 30 square meter house became his final home.
City C Normal University, the best teachers’ college in City C, of course, it didn’t mean much when ranked in the entire country. Due to City C’s city zoning, it was split into north and south school compounds. The south was more prosperous while the north was pretty much a suburb. The place where Yi Qiu stayed was near to the north.
”Peng!” Yi Qiu tossed the heavy package on the ground and didn’t care about it for the time being.
In the package was 10 kg of quicklime and a few bottles of pepper spray. It was a large test for Yi Qiu to shift this heavy box up 4 floors with his 9 points in Physique. The building that Yi Qiu stayed in was built a long time ago and it had close to 10 years of history now. Thus, it didn’t have an elevator.
After the loss yesterday, Yi Qiu had calmed down from all the emotions of his fortuitous encounter. He was just a normal person, he wasn’t a special force member or a technical expert. A normal person like him, even if he had level 1 Monk skills, he couldn’t defeat a mature wild boar.
But a living being couldn’t be a coward, after thinking for a while and with the help from many people on the internet, Yi Qiu bought some quicklime and pepper spray. Actually, Taobao had many weapons that weren’t sealed off but they were too expensive for him.
He did have a lucky break, but in his current situation he still had to eat and live frugally. This was why Yi Qiu didn’t plan to use his savings, although he didn’t have much anyway…
He opened the quicklime, using one-time-use plastic bags to package them. This was an ancient strategy that originated a long time ago. From heroes to thieves, from the cold weapons era to the thermal weapon era, quicklime was prevalent in the illegal weapons arsenal of the common people. That was until chili water replaced it in modern times.
Chili water aka pepper spray. Yi Qiu felt that he could make it himself too but he was afraid it wouldn’t be reliable so he just bought it off the internet. The top-selling pepper sprays’ key selling point was that it was only for defense, so it wouldn’t hurt people. It was said that one would recover after an hour. This was understandable since after all perverts had rights, but the wild boar in the dungeon didn’t.
This was why Yi Qiu bought quicklime just in case, a two-layer insurance policy. Of course he wouldn’t be able to kill the wild boar with these two items, at most he would just blind it. Yi Qiu’s main damage method was a pack of javelins. Although they might not be stronger than the vegetable knife yesterday, they were still good.
Just thinking about how he entered the dungeon yesterday with just a vegetable knife, Yi Qiu felt that he was really courageous.
…
He closed his eyes and the skull with a marking that looked like Baldur’s Gate appeared from the darkness. Yi Qiu opened the dungeon, the weakness timer had ended. After calming himself down, Yi Qiu chose to enter. The entire world started to spin about crazily! A short while later Yi Qiu fainted…
Dungeon: Pumpkin Field that a wild boar ravaged
Challenge Level: 1
Dungeon difficulty: Easy
Dungeon completion demands: Kill the Brown Tooth Boar that ravages the pumpkin field
”Hu” when he opened his eyes Yi Qiu noticed that he had arrived in a giant farmland.
The pumpkins in the farmland were mostly chewed on by the Boar and the scent of pumpkins was all in the air.
Yi Qiu took a look at his equipment: 15 bags of quicklime, 2 bottles of pepper spray and 5 javelins all laid in an orderly manner in his bag. Yi Qiu took out a pepper spray and placed it in his right hand. He then wore protective glasses and carried a pack of quicklime in his left hand.
He followed the tracks of the wild boar and not long later he noticed that it was eating. It was obvious that the thick pumpkin smell in the field threw the boar’s sense of smell off. However, when Yi Qiu was 100 meters away, the wild boar still noticed Yi Qiu. It then charged towards Yi Qiu aggressively.
When a wild boar that is even taller than you charges toward you so aggressively, you need great courage and experience to be able to react. Last night, Yi Qiu didn’t react in time and was pounced on and killed by the wild boar.
Yi Qiu gripped the pepper spray tightly in his hands. He felt that his heart was beating really quickly like it was about to jump out of his chest. However, he still managed to force himself to aim the pepper spray at the wild boar.
”Come on! Let’s see who dies first!” When the wild boar entered the range of the pepper spray, Yi Qiu viciously pressed down onto it!
”Qi” The maximum caliber pepper spray shot out a mist of unknown taste. When the wild boar charged in, it gave out a tragic cry:
”Ao!”
Chili water invaded its weak eyes. The pain that it brought was incomparable and tears spurted out uncontrollably! Yi Qiu dodged the wild boar’s crazy and blind charge, tossing a packet of quicklime over at the same time.
”Ang!” He was not that accurate but the front half of the wild boar was pretty much covered in quicklime.
The totally blind wild boar went mad but it was still unable to see where Yi Qiu was. It could only instinctively charge in random directions, consuming its own stamina.
Yi Qiu didn’t dare to get close. The moment the 2 meter tall wild boar went mad, the scene was just terrifying.
The wild boar got tired quickly. The pain in its eyes forced it to push against the dirt, trying to use this method to lessen the pain. At this moment, it couldn’t be bothered with Yi Qiu anymore.
Thus Yi Qiu took out a javelin and carefully got close to the wild boar.
”Pu” Yi Qiu stopped roughly 10 meters away from the wild boar. Yi Qiu used his full strength to toss it toward the butt of the boar!
No matter what animal, the ass was the most lethal weakness. When this 2-meter long javelin pierced the boar’s body, it gave out a loud and shocking cry:
”Ang ang ang!”
Yi Qiu retreated after tossing the javelin. He stopped when he was a full 100 meters away.
”Phew” Yi Qiu sat on the ground and panted. He watched as the wild boar activated its final charge.
Yi Qiu rubbed his head and felt a little fortunate. The last bit of strength had exceeded the limits of his body, causing his Life value to drop to 50%.
”Who says that Monks can’t use quicklime. Those DNF fighters all use it so well.”
”This isn’t DND, but it is really like DNF.”
