Bald Monk in the City - Chapter 53
Chapter 53: Brown Fur Wolfman
…
…
A wooden arrow shot toward Yi Qiu from the darkness!
Reflex Dodge!
Yi Qiu’s skin tightened and then he exploded to the side to dodge the arrow!
“Pu!”
The wooden arrow stuck into the building behind Yi Qiu and stone shrapnel flew everywhere!
The chance of Reflex Dodge successfully dodging was the highest when one was sneak attacked because that was when the Ki layer on his body was the most sensitive. During battle, the complicated infomation meant that the Ki layer wasn’t so sensitive.
After Yi Qiu stood still, he gathered Ki to open Eight Gates.
Facing an unknown enemy, he would open it and fight first. As for that arrow, Yi Qiu felt that the person was at least someone he could handle.
Yi Qiu squinted and his pupils slightly constricted.
Eight Gates, Gate of Opening open!
Power surged, and as for the pain, Yi Qiu was already used to it.
“Xiu!”
Another arrow shot out of the darkness and Yi Qiu smashed it!
After activating Eight Gates, the 16 Agility allowed him to determine the trajectory of the arrow.
“Pu!”
With one punch, Yi Qiu destroyed the wooden arrow!
Under the pressures of two huge powers, the arrow directly exploded.
Yi Qiu charged right at the enemy in the shadows!
As he became closer and closer, Yi Qiu understood what the enemy looked like:
A human body covered in brown fur, its wolf-like head’s green eyes were viciously staring at Yi Qiu.
He had a wooden bow on his body which would be the one he used to shoot at Yi Qiu.
He had a leather belt on his waist, and on it was a rough hook, probably to make it easier to grab the bow.
Apart from the bow, he had a quiver of wooden arrows by his side.
As Yi Qiu got close, he took out a dirty looking wolf-tooth bat and gave out an ugly expression to try to scare Yi Qiu away.
Yi Qiu instantly thought about the Brown Fur Wolfman on the notification. If the amount to kill represented the strength of the monster then this should be the weakest one.
Judging from the strength of the arrow, its strength wasn’t low.
Many thoughts flashed in Yi Qiu’s mind. In the end, he kicked out!
What surprised Yi Qiu was that the wolfman’s reaction was really slow, and it was unable to effectively block it. The leg smacked right into wolfman’s body!
“Peng!”
Yi Qiu’s kick sent Brown Fur Wolfman flying!
The soft flesh and body made contact with the stone rubble, and fresh blood seeped out from its brown skin.
“Ang…”
The Brown Fur Wolfman twisted his body in pain. Yi Qiu kicked it once more to end its pain.
The Brown Fur Wolfman was really weird, and from the arrows it shot out, its strength wouldn’t have been low.
Yi Qiu guessed that its strength was around 13-14.
But in front of Yi Qiu’s strikes, the Brown Fur Wolfman’s reaction wasn’t really that strong.
With his size and structure, to be able to give out 13-14 points in strength meant that his muscle structure was definitely developed.
Even if his agility couldn’t keep up with strength, agility didn’t affect explosiveness. Even if he couldn’t catch Yi Qiu’s attacks, he should have still been able to block them.
This was why Yi Qiu felt that the Brown Fur Wolfman was really uncoordinated.
He touched his head and couldn’t be bothered thinking about why such a weird monster would appear.
Anyway, the wolfman wasn’t Yi Qiu’s target. Yi Qiu guessed that it should be a relatively obvious questline in the map.
However, he wasn’t interested in it now as he still didn’t know where the giant spider was.
After all, this was once a city, the scale of these ruins was huge.
To search for a giant spider in such a complicated environment was indeed a relatively difficult matter.
Although it wasn’t like finding a needle in a haystack, at most in 10 days, if he didn’t find any clues, even if he searched the entire ruins, then he still wouldn’t find any clues of the giant spider.
As many places were covered by collapsed structures, Yi Qiu was unable to head deep in.
Yi Qiu didn’t understand the giant spider’s food chain. If there was enough food underground, maybe it would be hiding under the buildings.
But considering its size, it would eat a lot. Yi Qiu guessed that there wouldn’t be too much food underground.
Based on the quest, the giant spider was at least noticed on the surface, so one shouldn’t discount the possibility that it lived in one of the parts of the ruins.
Thinking about it for half a day, he had no idea. Yi Qiu was prepared to stroll around…

…
“Hu hu.”
Ka Lu’s breathing was rushed but he still used his wide and slightly tan body to guard the girl behind him.
These Brown Fur Wolfman were like elves in the Valley of Ice and Fire, one couldn’t wipe them out.
But what Ka Lu didn’t expect was that the Brown Fur Wolfman actually had a leader. After all, this bunch didn’t seem to have a brain and they dared to charge at anything they saw.
Even with a leader, Ka Lu didn’t fear these Brown Fur Wolfmen. They weren’t worth him being fearful, he just had to be more careful to avoid their hesitant attacks.
Even if double the number attacked, Ka Lu was confident… that he could run…
Although ants biting an elephant to death was a fairytale-like analogy, if one fought to the death and didn’t retreat, that situation might really happen.
Ka Lu solemnly looked at the red wolfman who held a giant hammer.
It was hard to imagine that a random being like the Brown Fur Wolfman would give rise to such a freak. Ka Lu felt that his strength wasn’t too low, but this Red Fur Wolfman’s strength made him feel like he was not up a worthy match.
The Brown Fur Wolfman’s size was like Lann, but this Red Fur Wolfman was at least the size of 2 Lanns.
Ka Lu looked around at the Brown Fur Wolfman that slowly surrounded him. Although their strength increased after magic was used on them, their spoiled muscles and flesh caused their reactions to be slow.
Thus, they weren’t the problem. The real problem was the Red Fur Wolfman that strolled the outer areas.
Its huge size and giant hammer caused its attack range to be huge. Ka Lu had to protect the girl behind him and so he was really reactive.
“Kong!”
The Red Fur Wolfman gritted his teeth and showed a cruel expression. After roaring, it raised its giant hammer and smashed toward Ka Lu…
“Peng!”
