Li Yan looked around him. The room was so shabby that he couldn’t even find a flower vase. Only the showerhead was of decent quality.
Li Jiangyu, with a giant Ba Serpent on his body, was blocking the door
Li Yan brushed the dust off of him and dug his toes into the ground, his back slightly hunched.
The black scales of the giant serpent flowed like water as it moved.
They stared at each other silently.
A drop of water was about to fall from the rim of the showerhead, still wet from the previous use.
The human moved when the snake moved.
Deadly sharp white fangs struck directly at his face. Li Yan rotated his left foot and swiftly avoided the serpent’s head. Instead of tackling it with his palm, he chose to kick the serpent’s head to the side.
However, Li Yan masked his confusion when his foot hit something that felt like a concrete block. He had to be quick. In a breath, he changed his plan and jumped back instead.
Li Jiangyu noticed that he had scared the man who had stabbed Li Yan. Seeing Li Yan avoid the serpent’s head, he quickly retracted it to his side.
The ground was uneven and filled with potholes, making it look like it had just been excavated.
The frustrated snake squirmed and glared at its owner with dissatisfaction.
I almost could have feasted on his calf…
There were only four teeth in the Ba Serpent’s mouth, but the holes in the ground were definitely more than four normal teeth could manage.
The Ba Serpent’s teeth seemed to have special powers. No matter what it touched, it could swallow it whole.
“You’re quick when you lunge forward, but not agile enough in your turns. The further you are from the owner, the slower you get…”
Li Yan analyzed calmly, almost as if he wasn’t the one close to losing a leg.
The Ba Serpent was quick in its attack but stiff when it moved. It’s agility was far from a normal snake. Of course, only Li Yan was qualified to judge the serpent’s speed. A normal person would not be able to avoid it at all.
Li Yan then thought of Zhang Mingyuan, whose eyes had fired up like a beast.
The eyes of the Kaiming Tiger, not the tiger.
The teeth of a Ba Serpent, not the serpent.
They were only one part of it.
Li Yan stomped the ground and charged forward!
Li Jiangyu sprung into action as well. Rather than letting the serpent fight, he rushed towards where Li Yan was coming from.
“He understands.”
Although he didn’t fancy Li Jiangyu’s soft, passive approach, Li Yan believed that his reaction was his best possible move.
With the serpent protecting him, Li Jiangyu could block a bullet. Naturally, he wouldn’t be afraid to fight Li Yan with his bare fists. But if he let go of the serpent, there was a good chance that Li Yan could jump on.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, Li Yan thought to himself as savagery flashed across his eyes.
With bent knees and his hand on his waist, his legs were like a stretched bow and his body was the arrow launched into the air. In a blink, Li Yan was nowhere to be seen, and suddenly Li Jiangyu heard a strong gust of wind.
“Si er,” called Li Jiangyu, beckoning the Ba Serpent by name. Though he had lost sight of Li Yan, he did not lose sight of his serpent.
Its body slithered like a chain, and it’s head snapped at Li Yan’s fist violently.
Its eyes, fervent with bloodlust, would send chills down anyone’s spine.
“How about this?”
Li Yan didn’t back off. He lifted his upper arm slightly, unclenching his fist, then swung his forearm at the serpent’s head!
The bullet is fast, but it is dead.
Li Yan’s fist is slow, but it is alive.
The four sharp fangs showed. The palm before the eyes of the serpent slid around like a mudskipper.
There was a fountain of blood.
Li Yan bent over backwards, holding himself up using just his left hand. He kicked Li Jiangyu right in his skull, as if he did not feel the pain.
He kicked me! Attack!
The serpent hissed angrily as it charged toward Li Yan’s right foot, ready to devour it. But Li Yan stopped him with the hand that it had supposedly swallowed in whole!
Eight Trigram Palm, flower beneath the leaves.
DIE!
His foot struck the temples of Li Jiangyu, who blacked out. There were whirring noises in his head, and a burning metallic smell rushed from his nose and mouth.
The serpent threw its body around in the air uncontrollably as if struck by lightning.
Li Yan collapsed to the ground. He was sweating buckets, and his whole body was drenched.
The sudden notification from ‘A Strong Impression’ sent chills down his back.
“Target initiated a curse: healing boost!”
“Healing boost: This is initiated when one is potentially fatally injured. It will force stop the process of dying and allow for recovery of the injury up to 30% of its severity.”
A gentlemanly, middle aged man’s body appeared behind Li Jiangyu, then proceeded to crumble into pieces. Blood poured out of his mouth as he backed out of the house.
Li Yan got up and gritted his teeth in pain. A few steps away, he saw Li Jiangyu climbing up the stairs pathetically.
Li Yan looked down at his right hand.
He had lost his pinky and ring finger, and blood was still shooting from the wound like a child’s water gun… He had also lost a large piece of flesh from his palm between his thumb and index finger. His hand bones protruded visibly from the wound.
He ripped off his shirt and tied the cloth around his right hand. The pain had him hissing for air. He then touched his nose subconsciously and realized that his left hand was filled with blood as well.
ES Stem cell booster shot directions: This product is not capable of curing blood diseases. If illness is severe, please purchase ES complete cell booster instead.
Li Yan cracked a smile and laughed. His robust laughter rocked the entire apartment block.
…
“Lunatic, monster… how can such a person exist…”
There were bloodstains all over the ground. Li JIangyu was shocked.
“Time, place, and person… I’ve calculated it properly, but why… how could it be?”
‘A Strong Impression’ had stated that he was a newbie with nothing inherited. The only outstanding area was his 80% skill level. Li Jiangyu had been through a few Yanfu cases, but had only come across someone with a 79% skill level. And that person was indeed much stronger than he was…
Li Jiangyu slipped in and out of consciousness, as if there was a hand in his head wringing his brain dry.
“That woman… he cared so much about that woman that he left two guns on her body. I still have hope!”
Bang!
Li Jiangyu forced open the door, scanning the room with his blood-filled eyes.
Li Jiangyu stood before him, dazed. He was bleeding from his nose and mouth, with a dagger stuck in his shoulder and blood dripping on the ground. The serpent was gone.
“Where’s Li Yan?”
He barked at Li sitting upright on the ground.
“Ask your mom,” scoffed Li.
“Damn it!”
Li Jiangyu kicked Li in her wounds.
Li hummed boredly and coughed up some pink bloody foam. She looked deathly pale.
Li Jiangyu looked at the loosened rope and the open windows and went berserk. He picked up the pistol on the ground and tugged on Li’s collar to drag her out the door.
The door was blocked by the tall, thin Li Yan as he placed his hand on the door frame.
His clothes were ripped, his swollen muscles were visible, and his right hand was wrapped in a cloth soaked through with blood. However, his eyes were full of spirit and he exuded confidence as he asked, “Where are you rushing to? You’re not going to play a little while longer?”
