Chapter 16: Imperial City, We Meet Again

An An’s so-called register was actually just a photo album in her mobile phone, filled with photos of the people she knew.
She acted as if she wanted so badly for Fang Chixia to marry tomorrow and she was extremely enthusiastic when it concerned Fang Chixia.
After An An enthusiastically introduced and recommended a large number of men to Fang Chixia, she suddenly realized something and added, “But… all of these men’s backgrounds can’t seem to compete with the Fang family.”
Fang Chixia was speechless as she rolled her eyes at her friend.
An An, were you sent by the monkeys to make others laugh?
Although Fang Chixia was a poor student, the Fang family’s background was rather strong in C City and a normal family couldn’t compete with them.
“A family whose influence is above that of the Fang family, one that can win over the Fang family…” An An stood up anxiously as she circled around the room nonstop. Her chant-like murmurs rang constantly by Fang Chixia’s ears.
“Alright, An An, you don’t have to care about this anymore. I’m going to go help take a friend’s part-time shift now.” Fang Chixia couldn’t bear to watch An An’s behavior anymore. She took her crossbody bag from the desk and slung it across her body casually, before she opened the door and walked out.
“Be careful on your way there and be guarded against gangsters!” An An stood behind her, reminding her loudly while wearing a bright smile.
Fang Chixia’s ankle twisted a little after hearing An An’s words and she turned back to glare at her.
Could she stop mentioning that?
An An waved at her friend with a bright smile still.
“I’m really leaving. See you soon.” Fang Chixia waved before she turned around and left the apartment.
The part-time shift she was going to was a waitressing job at a club that a friend had. Her friend had something going on at home and couldn’t go for the shift, so she had called Fang Chixia to take her place.
To be frank, Fang Chixia didn’t really like places such as clubs. All the good and bad jumbled together there, while there were also many things that a teenage girl shouldn’t come into contact with.
However, after her friend mentioned paying her double the wage, she agreed to take the shift, pushing her grievances to the side.
It was money! Who wouldn’t be enticed by it?
Not to mention that she was merely a poor student who had the life of earning all of her school fees using her hard-earned labor.
The place Fang Chixia was having the part-time shift was called Imperial City. As with its name, this club was labeled as C City’s most luxurious entertainment venue and nowhere else could compare with it. Everyone that went to Imperial City were all people with status in C City.
After Fang Chixia arrived at the club, she changed into the designated uniform. Just as she was ready to bring some alcohol with her and go out, the team lead of the club’s waitresses stopped her.
“Chixia, don’t go yet. Please send this to VIP room number three.” With that said, that person placed a purple box-shaped item into her hand and left.
The label of the box was facing her and with a quick glance, Fang Chixia wasn’t able to see anything else but the large ‘Durex’ written on it. It was extra-large sized while the words printed on the box were neon-colored.
Reading those words made her feel incredibly awkward, as the box in her hand started to heat up a little.
Why didn’t anyone tell her that the job scope of a waitress included sending such things to a guest?
Fang Chixia really didn’t want to do such things. However, after contemplating, her professionalism won over her and she followed the orders to bring the box to the guest.
However, just as she walked out of the staff room, her eyes met straight on with a person who was walking over from afar.
The two pairs of eyes met.
Fang Rong was extremely surprised to see her in such a place. In the meantime, Fang Chixia was crying in her mind. Before she could regain her full senses, she turned around and started running in a direction opposite of where he was.
With a poker face, Fang Rong watched as she left. He hummed coldly before his long legs strode out and followed after her.
He finally saw her!
“I’m sorry, excuse me! Excuse me!” Fang Chixia pushed away the countless bodies blocking her way as she ran away quickly.
When she was turning at a corner and was ready to run to another direction, she bumped straight into someone again.
Fang Chixia looked up instantly. When she saw clearly who she had bumped into, she froze before her body pounced into that person’s arms and pulled him into a corner with her…
