Chapter 20: Did I Say You Could Leave?
“Oh, why are you so careless?” A teasing voice sounded from beside her. One of the men then reached a hand out, as if wanting to lift her head.
Fang Chixia saw that person’s reaction from the corner of her eye and her body stiffened.
Using her hands to cover her face, Fang Chixia carefully dodged the person right before his hand could touch her and she hurriedly got up from the floor.
“I’m really sorry. If there’s nothing else, I’ll excuse myself first!” She didn’t even turn her head as she continued to keep her head down, wanting to leave immediately.
However, she had merely taken a step when a loud gunshot rang from behind her. Before she could comprehend what had happened, a bullet flew past her.
Fang Chixia stiffened completely as she froze on her spot.
“Did I say you could leave?” The man who spoke stood up lazily and approached her. “Since you’re here, you can simply drink with us. If you serve us well, I promise I’ll definitely pay you well, hm?”
The words drifted into her ears and Fang Chixia’s mind whirled into motion. She had to think of a way to deal with this. Judging from the corruptive madness going on in the room, she didn’t even need to guess to know that nothing good would happen if she stayed.
At this thought, she disregarded the gun threatening her from behind and hugged her head with both arms before she made a mad dash for the door.
Her actions were rather daring and showed a reckless disregard of the danger she was in.
Chaos erupted in the room instantly.
“You b*tch, why are you running? Why? You’re not happy to stay here longer? You’d already come to such a place, why are you acting innocent now?” The man’s furious voice trailed from behind her, together with several gunshots and the screams of the women inside the room.
The scene was a complete mess.
Fang Chixia didn’t dare turn back and look behind her, only continuing to charge forward with all of her energy and might.
Just as she reached the door, the terrifying gleam of a Swiss knife flew towards her from in front.
Thud!
The sudden danger made Fang Chixia’s pupils constrict in fear.
What was she going to do?! There was danger on both ends and she hugged her head, wanting to avoid the knife in a panic when that knife simply flew past her, flying straight behind her.
With that came a loud clattering.
When she turned back, the gun that the man who shot her with earlier, had been hit and had fallen to the ground.
Fang Chixia froze before she turned back forward as her gaze moved towards the direction where the knife had flown from. When she saw who the person walking over was, relief filled her eyes as she instinctively ran towards the man.
“I knew you wouldn’t watch me die!” When she arrived by Luo Yibei’s side, Fang Chixia pulled him towards herself and hid behind him rather shamelessly.
“Where did that thought come from?” Luo Yibei side-eyed her before he entered the room calmly.
“If not, you wouldn’t have saved me earlier!” Fang Chixia followed closely behind him. When she glanced at the man that had shot her earlier and was currently glaring at her fiercely in the room, she added, “I’ll leave these people to you!”
She acted as if she was sure that he wouldn’t look on and do nothing, as if it was natural for him to do so.
Luo Yibei glanced coldly at her, feeling a little speechless at her words. However, he didn’t retort.
The expression of the person in the room darkened completely. He bent down, wanting to pick up the gun on the floor. However, he had just reached his hand out when a silhouette suddenly stood before him, blocking him from getting what he wanted.
He looked up. Before he could get a clear glimpse of what was going on, the person’s long legs had lifted the gun on the floor. With a hook and a kick, the gun flew far away…
