Can’t Come Back - Chapter 7
‘He sucked me here—’
The sight of her crimson, swollen lips reminded her of what Cain had done to her. What a delight Cain provided her by kissing and sucking Berlia’s nipples with his tongue last night.
‘And how many times did he do his sexual act on my body?’
Berlia was unknowingly thinking about him as she stroked the spot where Cain had touched.
Despite the fact that she had done something she shouldn’t have, she could not deny that last night was exhilarating.
After bathing, she donned her underpants. Today, she will go shopping for a dress to wear to the banquet this weekend. I picked a dress that was simple to put on and take off since I was required to try it on when I entered the changing room.
Dressed with Betty’s assistance, she entered the dining room for a quick breakfast. Even with the outfit in mind, I had no intention of eating a large amount.
Berlia stumbled into Cain accidently as she was about to leave the dining hall after completing a lunch consisting mostly of fruits and soup.
“Sister in law.”
“Cain—”
He, too, seemed to be leaving. What facial expression should I adopt? What am I to say? The instant Beryia encountered Cain, the events of the previous evening resurfaced in her memory. Regardless of the nature of his whispering voice, he offered her exquisite pleasure.
In this way of thinking, I must have been pathetic while Cain was in front of me. I was unable to control my facial emotions appropriately.
“Are you about to leave?”
Luckily, Cain was the first to speak. If answering his inquiry were sufficient, I could exit this position without embarrassment. Berlia responded with relief. However, she was unable to really stare at Cain, so she dropped her eyes.
“I received a call that my dress for Cadellin’s birthday banquet this weekend was complete.”
Berlia met Cadellin on the day she made her first steps into the social sphere and met Cain for the first time, three years ago. She became the Countess of Adran after marrying a rich young count while she was the Viscount’s daughter. Although her position had not climbed as high as Berlia’s, she was in a loving relationship with a decent husband. And this weekend would be her birthday celebration.
“Are you going to the dress store? Then I may accompany you.”
“Yes?”
“I was on my way out the door when I received news that the garments I had bought were complete.”
Berlia questioned her hearing. However, Cain’s comments quickly followed, and she realized she comprehended what he was saying.
“I believe it’s a waste to take two wagons to the same place, but if that’s alright with you, we could ride together.”
It was even proposed that we travel together in the same wagon. Obviously, I’ve rode a similar carriage before. But it occurred last night, when I was alone in the room with him.
“Ca… Cain. Are you on Ribella’s dressing room as well?”
Something happened to them last night, so shouldn’t he be ashamed of making such comments? Berlia asked for a specific question, hoping that Cain would answer differently.
“Yes. This time, Ribella’s dressing room began accepting orders for men’s clothing.”
Berlia also heard that the dressing room began accepting commission on making men’s clothing.
However, I’ve heard that they have gotten relatively few orders.
Cain will almost certainly be among them. There was no reason for Berlia to reject.
“That’s… that’s actually good.”
Ultimately, they both rode in a wagon. It takes around thirty minutes to reach the dressing room. It wasn’t very long, but it seemed like three hours to her. It was evident that she would be humiliated during the whole event.
Opposite her sat Cain. He stared out the window while remaining silent. The two were silent with one another. Occasionally, the only audible sound was the wagon’s rattling.
“Are you feeling a bit better?”
Cain broke the stillness by speaking out first. It is yesterday’s tale. Berlia lifted her head and gazed at him with amazement.
‘I never expected that he would talk first.’
What should I say? Should I say let’s pretend what happened yesterday didn’t happen?
“Yeah I’m alright. And yesterday—”
“Flowers were present in the garden.”
“Yes? Flowers?”
Berlia opened her eyes wide. Isn’t this an odd subject that has changed abruptly? Cain, though, continued speaking without hesitation.
“Undem Flowers bloom in the garden.”
“Really? I’ve heard that it’s quite hard to make flowers blossom.”
The plant Undem was said to take five to ten years to produce a single blossom. Despite being grown in the Duke’s garden, the flowers did not blossom well and the administration was arduous, thus Berlia had never seen a flower in person.
Berlia said with a tone of eagerness.
“I want to go back to the mansion and really see it.”
“Are you conversant with the floral language of the Undem?”
“No… The flower language was—”
“Really? Undem’s flower language was—”
Cain had just taken a little break and was about to continue.
“Master, we’re here.”
The carriage has arrived at the dressing room of Ribella. Berlia was inquisitive about the significance of the flower, but she lost the opportunity to hear the narrative. She exited the carriage and followed Cain into the dressing room.
“Welcome, Young Master Hildayden and Duchess Hildayden.”
The representative designer of RiBella’s dressing room, RiBella, stepped out to welcome them. As a member of one of the most prominent families in the empire, the treatment seemed fitting.
Following her instructions, the two entered a secluded room.
“What kind of clothing should I display first? Or, may I separate you in a different room?”
Despite the fact that the two were related, they were not a couple. Since we were a group, we were sent to the same rooms, although it was typical to be shown to separate rooms.
However, the words that Cain spoke were unexpected.
“Let’s start with sister-in-law’s attire first. Because I want to show my sister-in-law the clothing I got and get her opinion, there is no need to display the room separately.”
“You want to solicit my opinion?”
Although she was surprised, she wanted to see Cain’s new clothes so she did not retaliate.
“It’s all fine.”
Ribella escorted the two individuals to the biggest room at his request. In addition to a space to change clothes, there were also light snacks, catalogs of new arrivals, and local news and publications.
As we sat down and sipped tea, the staff delivered Berlia’s requested outfit.
“Duchess. Are you interested in trying it on?”
Berlia changed her clothing behind the heavy drapes on one side of the room. It was a location for changing clothing. The inside was larger and cozier than anticipated. Berlia removed the plain dress she had been wearing and replaced it with a new one.
Ribella grabbed the information on the back of her back as she dressed.
“The mirror is located here.”
Berlia followed Ribella’s instructions and stood in front of the mirror.
“It’s lovely, Berl… No, Sister in law.”
When Cain complimented her beauty, Ribella reacted.
“Yes? A garment inspired by the golden radiance of the Duchess’ hair.”
Berlia’s completed garment was stunning. Cain gave her honest appreciation. When seen in the mirror, she was an attractive woman.
If I had not married him, I would not have been able to live in such luxury. A fresh clothing each time, that must have been inconceivable.
Berlia became the Cinderella of the century by marrying Dean.
She became the duchess of one of the most powerful and wealthiest nobles in the Empire.
The lady who inherited and altered her mother’s clothes is no longer present. It was Duchess Berlia Hildayden, who is now wealthy enough to purchase a new gown for every dinner.
If I had refused my husband’s proposal, Cain would not have done what he did last night.
A night with Cain, a crush of mine. It would not have occurred if she had not been the Duchess. He must have developed a crush on himself without ever telling Cain about him. There was, however, one thing that could not be done with him.
I may confront him every day, but it will never happen, because he has no idea I exist. Which one is superior?
Berlia helped herself. Berlia profited too much from this marriage to hold Dean accountable.
“You are attractive. This outfit is… I adore it!”
“Do you want to fix any component separately?”
“It’s fine. I’m content with this.”
“It’s all fine. Then I will complete the dress and deliver it to the Duke of Hildayden.”
Contrary to her disordered thoughts, the silky beige garment was flawless. Berlia returned inside to undress.
“I will assist you in removing it. It is somewhat more difficult to remove than to put on.”
“No. I can do this myself.”
The workers in the changing room attempted to assist Berlia, but she refused. Berlia disliked waiting for her clothing. The direct maid was used to always being at her side, but I didn’t want to expose my body to anybody, not even the dressing room staff, whom I didn’t know. Furthermore, Cain’s imprints remained on her body.
“In the meanwhile, I shall arrange Young Masters’ attire.”
“Please wait five minutes while you drink some refreshments, Young Master Cain.”
Ribella and the personnel left the room. While Berlia was disrobing, the garments Cain had ordered were being prepared.
Cain was left in the room alone. Obviously, Berlia was changing clothes inside, so Cain and Berlia were the only remaining individuals in the room.
Cain went on as the footsteps of Ribella and the dressing room workers faded away. He paused before the dense curtain. Behind the curtain, Berlia removed her clothing.
“Berlia. Can I pardon you for a moment?”
Cain then drew the curtain closed and entered the room.
“Wait… Cain!”
Cain gave Berlia a rear embrace.
