Childcare Diaries - Chapter 96
As Brielle still hadn’t woken up, the atmosphere in the mansion was getting darker and more gloomy.
Siege gazed impatiently at the entrance to the mansion. He asked the County’s butler to send an urgent mail to the estate, so now was the time to get an answer. Finally, from afar, the servant in charge of the County’s mail was returning.
“Did I receive any correspondence today?”
The servant who was checking the mail delivered today handed over something in his name. Siege, who received it, quickly read what was written.
‘There is…’
He hurriedly ran towards the Count. Kentrail was sitting in his office, going through the list of men well versed in poison. The butler announced that Siege had come before the door opened immediately.
“Count.”
“Siege, what’s going on?”
“Look at this.”
Kentrail checked the letter the child had hurriedly handed over.
“This…”
“These are the medicines that my brother has been taking at the estate. It seems like these have something to do with detoxification. Originally, brother refused to take medicine because he did not like the bitter taste even when he had a cold, but I remembered him taking it one day, saying it would be good for his body.”
Hearing this, Kentrail quickly called the butler.
“Show this to the doctor and tell him to check if this works.”
“Yes, Master.”
At that, the butler hurried out.
Seeing the butler take the paper out, Siege bowed his head.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry. If my brother didn’t distribute the poison in the market…”
“How could that be your fault? And, it wouldn’t be on the market. With this kind of poison, it would be advantageous for him to monopolize it. It must have been given to someone specific.”
Recognizing Siege’s feelings, Kentrail told him to visit Brielle. It was because he knew Siege couldn’t see Brielle because of his guilt.
“Thank you.”
Siege greeted Kentrail, who recognized his feelings, and headed towards Brielle’s room with a better expression than when he entered.

Derek instructed Gideon to take Finn and hide under the bed. Following his gestures, Gideon took Finn and moved.
Derek caught his breath as he saw that they had made it all the way to the bottom of the bed, holding a sword in his hands.
More and more presence was felt.
As he counted one, two, three, the window shattered terribly. Derek cut the person who came through the window first without hesitation. The assassins who followed, realizing that they had been noticed from within, slammed their body to break the wooden door on the other side of the window.
Standing in front of the wooden door, this time, he waited for them to come in.
At the same time, with a bang, the door smashed, and about five assassins entered. They seemed to be puzzled by the sturdy Derek standing there. However, considering the number, they thought they had an advantage, so they rushed towards him in an instant.
Derek slammed the sword that came down towards him with his own sword, raised his foot, and struck his opponent’s abdomen. As soon as the person collapsed, another assassin drew his sword. Derek bowed quickly to avoid the attack, then slammed his sword into the stomach.
If he faltered a little, the people lying in this house would not be them but himself, so he had no choice but to do it. Taking advantage of Derek being preoccupied, an assassin began to search the house.
Their goal was to find Gideon and Finn.
Meanwhile, they both covered their mouths with their hands and trembled. They thought they would be happy to accept death when it came, but when it came like this, they couldn’t hide their fear.
Finally, the assassin reached near the bed where they were hiding. He lifted the quilt and immediately bowed his head and saw Gideon’s eyes. The assassin’s body collapsed as his twisted eyes glared at Gideon and long arms pulled him down.
Derek, who had defeated all the other assassins, also defeated him.
“Get out of here quickly. Better get out of here first before the other assassins come.”
At his words, Gideon and Finn got out from under the bed, barely holding on to their trembling limbs.
“Let’s go. Pack only the important things quickly.”
While Gideon took the gold coins he had collected, Finn took the jewelry box.
Derek’s gaze moved to the jewelry box in an instant and then moved away. They started moving to the market under his guidance. Although there were many witnesses, it would take a lot of time to find them if they were mixed with people.
There was a limit to even asking every single person a question.
And finally, they entered the inn where Derek was staying.
As soon as they entered the room, they took a deep breath. While Derek was barely out of breath, Gideon and Finn were about to faint. If he hadn’t picked up the two in the middle, they wouldn’t have made it this far.
“Drink some water.”
They quickly drank the water Derek gave them, and as they began to calm down, Derek asked.
“Who the hell are they, Brielle’s Aunt?”

Brielle’s breath became even.
That night, a breath of relief escaped from the mouths of those around him. Among them, the doctor grabbed his chest and was significantly relieved. Without this antie, he was horrified to think of what would have happened to him.
However, Marie was not relieved that Brielle’s fever had gone down, so she continued to check the body temperature by placing her hand on the child’s forehead.
“It’s thanks to you, Siege.”
As Kentrail spoke, Siege shook his head.
“It was the natural thing to do.”
Still, if he hadn’t thought of an antie in a timely manner, Brielle’s symptoms would have gotten worse, so everyone was grateful. When the doctor went back, Barry and Siege left for their room. Only Marie, Ellie, and Kentrail were left.
“Ellie. I heard from the knights.”
Then, Kentrail spoke to Ellie.
The child did something wrong, so she didn’t make eye contact with him. Meanwhile, Marie looked bewildered, not knowing what he was saying.
“You must never do that again. There are many other vicious criminals there.”
“Yes, Count. Only this time.”
After listening to their conversation, Marie asked the two of them.
“What are you talking about?”
“I heard that Ellie and Barry went to jail to see Eujes.”
“…What?”
Her eyes widened at Kentrail’s words. Then, she checked the child for any injuries.
“I’m fine, sister.”
Kentrail opened his mouth to Marie, who continued to look at Ellie here and there, not relieved by her sister’s words.
“Rather, it’s Eujes who got hurt, don’t worry.”
“Yes? Maybe, Ellie to Eujes…”
Ellie averted her sister’s eyes.
“I wanted to punish him myself for what he did wrong. Therefore…”
Upon hearing that she had hit him with her fist, Marie was just stunned. She couldn’t say she was right or wrong, and she just hugged Ellie.
“You can’t do that again.”
And so, she had no choice but to speak like Kentrail.
“Yes.”
Ellie had to put her finger on Marie’s and make a promise And, in the midst of this commotion, Brielle finally opened his eyes.
“Brielle!”
It was Kentrail who saw Brielle’s eyes first.
“…Un…le…”
His voice didn’t come out properly though the child called him in a low voice.
“Yes.”
Kentrail quickly walked over to Brielle’s side and took his hand. At the same time, Marie opened the door and told the maid to call the doctor quickly. Then, she held the child’s other hand while Ellie stroked his forehead.
“…I…kay”
After saying that in a completely not-okay way, Marie suddenly remembered Brielle’s diary and started crying again.
“…Ma…ie…”
“Young Master.”
It seemed like yesterday when he called her Maee, but now, he hid his feelings for the sake of those around him.
“I’ll give him water.”
Ellie took her hand from Brielle’s forehead and poured water from her jug that was placed nearby.
Kentrail raised his nephew’s body up for him to drink the water. After drinking the water, Brielle looked around them again. Then, he smiled a little to see, showing he was okay now.
“I’m really okay.”
His voice returned to normal. However, Brielle had to be told by the doctor that he had to stay in bed for another week.

“You dare!”
The current king stood in front of the previous king in the form of a crown prince when he was a child.
“I am telling you that I will cover up what Your Majesty has done. You’re not in a position to be so angry with me.”
A father who always hated him. If his older brother hadn’t died, he would never have been able to become the current Crown Prince. And now, this position has been threatened by his little nephew.
“What do you want to do?”
It was the first time he had heard a sound of regret from his father’s mouth, and he was engulfed in pleasure.
“Send the child into exile.”
“What? Whom do you dare say you’re going to send into exile?”
“If you don’t like it, I will present it in front of the nobles. What did father do to maintain power?”
Just like Caveran and the King’s current position, the position of previous kings was the same in the past.
“No exile. How can you tell me to send my grandson into exile?”
“Yes, I will not get father’s hands dirty. I’ll do it Instead, you only need to close your eyes once.”
“Ha. I regret that I didn’t recognize your true form earlier and made you a crown prince.”
“Speak correctly. Your Majesty did not make me, I took it myself.”
The Ling’s lips trembled. Had it not been for his eldest son, who suddenly left, he would not have suffered such humiliation.
“You mustn’t kill him. Still, he’s your nephew.”
“I know that well. Even if I inherit the throne safely, I will keep him alive, so don’t worry too much.”
The current king turned his head and came out of the place after speaking coldly to his father.
“Gasp…”
The King woke up and took a deep breath.
‘…Was it a dream?’
It was too vivid for that. It was all because of the recent threats from Caveran. He clasped his hands and trembled in rage.
