Chapter 79
“Yeah, pigeon. A letter must have come.”
As she untied the letter tied to its leg, she saw the sender was Luca. The pigeon was crying frantically, but when Sevis handed it a small bag of corn, it snatched it away and took off.
The sight of the pigeon swinging and flying away was very sad because it looked like a medieval slave who was being rationed to death, but Sevis seemed to think differently.
“Th-that… that rude bird. Not even a thank you even though I gave it corn…”
“How can a bird know manners? Let’s go in quickly.”
Entering the house, the two sighed for a moment as they looked at the tiny room that was incomparable to the mansion.
‘F*ck, if it’s a game, just give the player some enjoyment…’
Sylvia grumbled inwardly for a moment, then put away the luggage with Sevis and did some light cleaning. After cleaning the room, Sevis quickly left the house to go to the market to sell the marbles they had acquired in the dungeon and to buy the clothes he needed.
Waiting until he disappeared completely, Sylvia sat on the couch, chewing her lips anxiously, and opened Luca’s letter.
The despair she was feeling about the poor house was blown away, and just thinking about f*cking Luca now that she was able to target him, her heart started pounding so much that she couldn’t bear it. His refreshing single eyelids and clear golden eyes, his thick chest, and his manly place… She was only imagining it, but her mouth was filling up with saliva.
Luca’s handwriting was also splendid, matching his appearance.

[Sylvia! You didn’t forget about the part-time job during the festival, did you? I would love to give you a lot of valuables, but I’ll hold back since you don’t seem to want them! Monday is too busy for me, but since the festival lasts three days, let’s meet at the seaside entrance on Tuesday.]
———————————————
‘When did I say I didn’t want valuables?’
Sylvia’s eyes narrowed like a flatfish as she read the letter. Who in the world doesn’t like money? Sylvia also liked money. Even more so now that she was in poverty. But Luca seemed to have misunderstood her as he pleased from some point on.
‘Was it because I refused the 10,000 gold part-time job? Or was it because I didn’t show any interest when we were talking about the carriage in front of the temple? He misunderstood me completely.’
If he gave her money, of course, she was going to get it. Of course, the source was unclear as Luca was the one giving it, so she didn’t know if her karma would go up. But now that she was wearing the Necklace Containing the Blessings of a Salary Thief, she was not worried because at least her karma would not rise on the days she took a break, and there was also Noel, who lowered karma every time they had s*x.
‘I don’t know at what moment my karma will start increasing if I get close to Luca, but it’s fine since I have Mr. Noel.’
The real problem was something else. Almost-Legendary Poison Immunity. She thought it was good the moment she gained the skill, but after thinking about it quietly, the ‘almost’ in front of it was quite disturbing. Even if she can detoxify almost all poisons, there will be one or two that her skill will fall behind.
‘Do I have to save often… I guess you have to be willing to die once or twice to get a handsome man like Luca… Let’s work hard… to the best of my ability. I must go to heaven.’
If you want to die, you will live; if you want to live, you will die. Recalling the words of her wise ancestors, Sylvia’s eyes burned with the will to fight.
The tired Sylvia, whose morale was burning up as she read the letter, fell asleep on the sofa for a moment. Deep asleep, she woke up to the sound of the door opening. As she rubbed her eyes, Sevis came up to her with a yellow bag that smelled delicious and a shopping bag.
It was fried chicken from the market. The two who were depressed for a while after arriving at the humble cabin, ate the delicious food and regained their energy.
After enjoying a late-night meal, Sylvia cleared the carpet of bones and crumbs. Just then, Sevis placed the purse with money from the marbles he sold on the sofa. Then, he looked around at Sylvia with a proud expression as she swept the floor with a broom. As her gaze turned to the purse, Sevis spoke with twinkling eyes.
“Miss Sylvia, do you know how much money we made from selling the marbles we got from the dungeon this time?”
“How much?”
“Hehe. Don’t be surprised when you hear it.”
Don’t be surprised? How much was it? Sylvia was staring blankly at the purse when Sevis spread three fingers in front of her.
“30,000 gold!”
“Eek!”
30,000 gold? That was amazing. Sylvia opened her eyes wide and covered her mouth with her hands when she heard the amount of money that was incomparable to what she had made from the regular dungeons and part-time job. She was so excited that she grabbed Sevis’ hands and jumped around.
“Wow! That’s awesome, awesome! 30,000 gold!”
“Wow!”
Sevis was excited, too, and jumped around and danced while crossing arms with Sylvia. The wooden floor of the tiny cabin trembled as the two people spun round and round. They danced and talked as if they were in a ballroom.
“That’s why you bought fried chicken!”
When Sylvia clapped and held out her hand, Sevis clapped her hand with his. Then, holding one of Sylvia’s hands, he wrapped his arm around her waist, spun around, and shouted.
“I always meant to buy it!”
“A part-time job? Let’s just be attentive and look for more dungeons! Won’t we get rich at this rate?”
Sylvia smiled broadly and put her hand on Sevis’ shoulder, and he pulled her waist tightly with excitement.
“I really hope so!”
“!”
They were just dancing without giving it much thought, but their posture had become ambiguous. Suddenly realizing it after an exhilarating conversation, Sylvia’s face hardened awkwardly. Sevis paused for a moment, then quickly released his arms and stepped back.
While they were thinking about money and dancing excitedly, they started looking like a couple hugging. Sevis’ face turned red like a beetroot, and Sylvia, who was also standing still with a flushed face, cleared her throat.
“Ahem, anyway, that’s a good thing.”
“… Aah, that’s right. It’s a good thing…”
Silence flowed again between the two, overshadowing their attempts to talk.
‘Gosh, what is this awkward situation all of a sudden?’
An awkward moment of silence. Sylvia moved her eyes around and hurried to the bathroom, shouting out loud on purpose.
“It’s time to sleep! Now that we have 30,000 gold, things won’t be difficult for a while!”
“… Phew, that’s right.”
In the shower, Sylvia banged on the wall and sang the national anthem for the first time in a while. There was only one bathroom, so when Sylvia came out of the shower, Sevis went inside with an awkward look on his face.
Lying on the bed for a while, she started falling asleep. Her eyes were about to close when Sevis came out, wiping his wet hair with a towel.
“Miss Sylvia, I bought something for you to wear at the festival tomorrow. Would you like to see it?”
“Aah… I guess you bought it on your own. I’ll check it out tomorrow. I’m too tired…”
Sylvia narrowed her eyes at Sevis with a sleepy face, then tugged on the blanket tightly and turned around. Looking at her back, Sevis gently raised the corners of his lips and whispered.
“Right… Good night… my master.”
Sylvia opened her eyes in the bright sunny morning, frowning at the direct sunlight on her face.
“Gosh, why is it so bright?”
“Miss Sylvia! You have to get up now!”
Sevis, who had sharp ears, was in the kitchen making food when he noticed what had happened and shouted. She always woke up early in the morning, at first because she was adjusting to the cabin, and then because she went to the temple part-time, so she never noticed it. But now, she was seeing that this damn house had no curtains on the windows. It was a fact that she only discovered because it was the day of the festival and she was sleeping in, unlike usual.
‘I was so distracted by the game that I’m only realizing it now, but there are some pathetic things… What kind of house doesn’t have curtains?’
Sylvia grumbled inwardly, rubbing her eyes with her hands before getting out of bed. Then she muttered, stretching her body.
“We need to buy some curtains too…”
“Ah! Curtains! I agree. In fact, I didn’t think it was necessary to have curtains because we woke up at dawn, but now that we made some money, it’s fine to get some curtains.”
Sevis, who had sharp ears, shouted from the kitchen once again. When Sylvia entered the bathroom, her expression hardened at the sudden thought.
‘Now that I think of it, Sevis’ ears are extremely sharp. He must have heard me singing the national anthem while punching the bathroom wall. Though he doesn’t know why I did that.’
After looking pale for a moment, she vowed not to talk about the meaning behind it near Sevis.
After washing up quickly, she went to the kitchen where a warm breakfast was prepared. After eating and brushing her teeth, Sevis brought the shopping bag with the clothes he had bought yesterday.
Then the door opened and Limbo came in, sweating. It came back home after jogging in the morning. It didn’t just act like a horse anymore and even took itself for a walk. The more she looked at it, the more brilliant the animal was.
‘Is this why people buy foreign horses? They’re easy to manage…’
Limbo shook off its mane and even opened the lid of a bottle of Evi*n water with its own mouth and drank it. While Sylvia was admiring its cleverness again, Sevis pulled unexpected clothes out of the shopping bag. It was a colorful and familiar material that she had seen a lot of. Sylvia received the suspicious piece of fabric and tilted her head.
“What is this piece of fabric?”
“Open it.”
When she ripped the wrapping paper, a small one-piece swimsuit appeared. She thought he would buy her a pretty dress or stylish pants, but what was it with this swimsuit?
“Huh? It’s a swimsuit.”
“Didn’t you know? The coming-of-age festival is a beach festival. The sea here is famous, so tourists come here in the summer. We aim for that and hold the coming-of-age festival.”
“Ah, I see.”
Since it was a festival, she thought she was going to have a beer and dance to folk music in the middle of the square, but it was being held on the beach. Then, she understood the swimsuit. But as she nodded and observed the swimsuit, her expression stiffened.
