Shui Miaomiao watched him clean his hand with the hand gel.
Fuck.
She felt as if there were 10,000 alpacas trampling her heart.
She was taken advantage of and then given the cold-shoulder.
Shui Miaomiao swore that she would stay as far away as possible from Shen Mochen from now on. If she saw him, she would take a detour.
Nevertheless, it would probably be even worse if he didn’t wash his hands.
Shui Miaomiao was crying a river inside.
She wanted to clean her part.
Ugh.
After the swearing —
Shui Miaomiao walked into the kitchen wearily, boiled some water, and opened the freezer.
There were lots of frozen fine dried noodles in the freezer; they were all wrapped up in zip lock bags.
She took a pack out, put it aside, and opened the refrigerator.
There were only eggs and milk, and nothing else.
Shui Miaomiao took two eggs out, fried some egg drops, and then boiled the noodles. When the noodles were done, she scooped them out of the pot and added the egg drops.
She then brought the bowl to the dining table.
Shen Mochen had taken his suit off and undone the top three buttons on his shirt, showing his beautiful collar bones. His skin was pale, but his strong muscles could be seen through his shirt.
His sleeves were neatly rolled up to just below his elbows.
His casual look gave him a gentle and homey vibe. He didn’t look as dangerous and evil as before.
He walked towards Shui Miaomiao, glanced at the appearance of the noodles, and stared at her expressively, “Shui Miaomiao, you live up to your name.”
“What?” Shui Miaomiao didn’t understand him.
Shen Mochen looked at her, acting calmly while his eyes darkened, and said, “Wet.”
Shui Miaomiao, “…”
She was totally out of her mind for following him home.
“I hope never to see you again,” Shui Miaomiao spit the words and was ready to leave.
Shen Mochen grasped her by the arm and said, “Eat with me.”
“No,” Shui Miaomiao refused with integrity.
A smile tugged at his mouth, “The 10,000 Yuan…”
“Haha, I was just joking, to ease the atmosphere. Don’t you think that I said ‘not eating with you’ too readily? Usually, when a person says things too readily, that means he does not think it through,” Shui Miaomiao sat on a chair. When she saw that there was only one bowl on the table, she stood up again, “I’ll go and get another bowl.”
Frustrated, she walked into the kitchen.
She took a bowl and a pair of chopsticks.
She saw Shen Mochen pick up the noodles, blow away the steam on them, and shove them into his mouth.
She thought that he would mock her noodles.
Her Yanyan always complained that her food did not look nice on the outside and tasted bad.
He did not. He lowered his head, picked up more noodles, blew away the hot steam, and, again, pushed them into his mouth.
It seemed like he found them delicious.
Shui Miaomiao did not expect that.
When a woman saw people enjoying the food you cooked, she got a sense of belonging and achievement.
Regarding his eating habits, he was way easier than Yanyan.
Shui Miaomiao’s heart melted a little, “You can buy some green vegetables and cooked beef, and store them in the fridge. You will have a more balanced diet with the vegetables and beef in your noodles. Plus they’d look nicer and taste better.”
“Hmm,” Shen Mochen mumbled. He set his eyes on her, “Sit.”
Shui Miaomiao sat across him.
Shen Mochen gave her some noodles and asked, “You always get off work late. Why won’t your boyfriend pick you up?”
“He’s busy,” Shui Miaomiao simply found an excuse.
“He’s busy, doesn’t provide for you, and doesn’t care about you. You still love this kind of guy?” Shen Mochen asked, puzzled.
