- Chapter 24 - Crossing Paths, Traumatized, and Yet… Chapter 24
After the new semester started, the two were unaware of any changes between them.
They spent their time as usual.
Before they knew it, it was the end of the year and winter break.
Winter break was the same as usual.
Every year, they have a Christmas party with all their friends, so this year they decided to get together again and celebrate Christmas together.
Some of my friends were not able to come because they had started dating, while others, mainly those who did not have boyfriends or girlfriends, were able to get together for the first time in a long time.
Wakaba was looking forward to it.
The day of the Christmas party came and Wakaba and Daiki headed to the party.
The venue this year was karaoke.
After meeting up with everyone, they went into the room.
After entering the room, everyone decided on their seats and the Christmas party began.
Since the summer festival, Shiraishi and Wakaba have grown closer and have been spending more time together.
On this day, Shiraishi and Wakaba were sitting next to each other again.
It seems that everyone around them had decided that if Wakaba and Shiraishi were paired up, there would be no more fighting and they would look good together, so they were made to sit next to each other so that they could be together.
Shiraishi, too, seemed to be enjoying the conversation with Wakaba.
Wakaba seemed to be doing as usual.
Daiki was having fun singing karaoke with everyone else.
He tried not to look at Shiraishi and Wakaba who were talking happily.
As much as possible, he tried not to be conscious of anything, so that he would not have to think about anything.
But then Wakaba and Shiraishi decided to sing together.
It was then that he looked toward the seat where Wakaba and Shiraishi were sitting for the first time.
They were sitting so close to each other that their shoulders were touching.
Not wanting to see them.
He didn’t want to see any more.
“I’m going to get a drink!”
He told his friend nearby and left the room.
As he filled his drink, he let out a deep sigh.
“This is not good enough…”
He was depressed.
He waited for a while until he calmed down before returning to his room, so it was a little late.
Relieved to see that another friend was already singing, he saw Wakaba staring at him.
It bothered him, but there was nothing he could do about it.
When Shiraishi spoke to her again, she turned her head away and Daiki went back to his friends.
After that, the party quickly came to an end with the exchange of gifts and other things.
But Daiki had some business to attend to, so he decided to leave.
Wakaba was invited by Shiraishi and the others, but she said she would go home with Daiki.
“Wakaba, go with everyone!
I’ll be fine!”
He approached Wakaba and the others and told them so.
Wakaba still had a troubled look on her face, so he approached her and whispered
“Don’t worry about me, I’m going to have dinner with my father now!”
He said.
Wakaba looked a little worried, but said
“Okay.
Be careful on your way home.”
And he went on his way to the family restaurant.
Daiki left everyone and went home by himself.
He had really wanted to go out for dinner with his father, but he couldn’t stand to see the two of them having fun in front of him any longer.
Shiraishi probably wanted Wakaba to stay, too.
He was overtly disappointed when Wakaba said she was going home with Daiki.
He looked at Daiki asking for his help.
Wakaba would probably think that she hadn’t had enough fun with everyone, so she decided that it was just as well.
Daiki was able to control his emotions better than before and was able to tolerate seeing them talking happily.
However, his chest still felt tight.
He was walking alone on his way home with these thoughts in mind.
