- Chapter 45 - Crossing Paths, Traumatized, and Yet… Chapter 45
Ren was thinking as he walked alone.
“She was only looking at Daiki today…I couldn’t even confess my feelings to her.”
And Ren had realized that Wakaba really liked Daiki.
But he did not want to lose.
He thought that he would not lose to anyone if it was the feeling of liking Wakaba.
He was also somewhat aware of Daiki’s feelings.
That’s why he didn’t want to lose Wakaba.
Since the summer festival in the first year of junior high school, he was gradually attracted to Wakaba, and when he realized it, he fell in love with her.
He knew that Wakaba was always concerned about Daiki.
So when he was in the classroom or playing with others, he always made it a point to be next to Wakaba.
When they went on a date together, he was very happy, but after the date, Wakaba stopped going out with him once for some reason or another.
But Ren continued to approach her slowly.
In the last days of junior high school, he waited for Wakaba before going to school in the morning so that he would not be left alone with Daiki.
Daiki always read the situation and went to a different friend.
Wakaba always looked lonely when she saw Daiki like that.
In order to make Wakaba feel a little more towards him, Ren acted aggressively to make her aware of him.
Ren was trying to make an appeal to everyone so that they would understand, and naturally, they left him alone with Wakaba.
It was going well for Ren.
When they went out to play, they made sure that they could be alone together.
But even when they were alone, Wakaba was always concerned about Daiki.
When they went to the theme park, it worked out so that the two of them could go around together.
He managed to get her to be aware of him until they met up with everyone else, but Wakaba found herself looking around and looking for someone else.
She spent the rest of the evening looking around, but all the time it didn’t make a difference.
But before they could meet up with everyone else, an opportunity presented itself.
He almost lost Wakaba in the crowd, so he grabbed her hand and held it until they were through the crowd.
Ren was happy and nervous.
However, Wakaba did not look happy, but rather indescribable.
After meeting up with the others, she was depressed after hearing that Daiki had fallen ill and gone home.
She tried not to show any signs of depression, but Ren could tell right away.
He offered to walk her home, but she refused, so he could not do so.
At the summer festival, during the fireworks, Ren casually asked everyone to leave the two of them alone.
Everyone was good enough to let the two of them be alone.
As we walked through the crowd, I wanted to take Wakaba’s hand as I had done at the theme park, but she refused.
Still, Wakaba and Ren were able to watch the fireworks together.
He had decided to confess his feelings to her while watching the fireworks.
However, Wakaba hardly watched the fireworks.
She wasn’t even listening to him.
Normally she would not make such a face, but she was in a bad mood the whole time.
After all, he could not confess his feelings, and as soon as the fireworks were over, he rushed to contact his friends to meet up with them.
After meeting up with the others, they decided to go back home, but Ren knew there was no way he could just leave, so he went to Daiki and asked him to give Wakaba a drop off home by himself.
For the first time, Daiki made a reluctant face.
After all, he was sure that Daiki also liked Wakaba.
He couldn’t lose to Daiki.
He decided to give her a drop off even if it was by force, and dared to ask Daiki to tell Wakaba.
When Daiki told Wakaba about it. Wakaba looked like she was about to cry.
Even so, Ren could not give in.
“I want to be next to Wakaba.”
That’s what he thought.
When it was time to take Wakaba home, Ren talked about many things, but Wakaba only listened to him and did not seem to be paying attention to him.
When they arrived at her house, she said,
“Thank you for walking me home. See you at school.”
Wakaba said and was about to go inside the house.
“Wait”
Ren stopped her.
“What’s wrong?”
Wakaba asked.
“After all, it’s nothing.
See you at school!”
Ren was also in a hurry and wanted to confess.
But when he saw Wakaba’s face, he felt that he would be rejected if he continued like this.
So he decided to leave without confessing.
On the way home from Wakaba’s house, Ren was thinking about how they could go out.
If he did not confess his feelings, he would be rejected.
In Wakaba’s mind, Daiki is a big part of her life.
But there is nothing he can do about that.
” Sasaki is the one who is closest to Wakaba, right?
I’ll ask Sasaki to help me get Wakaba to go out with me.”
So Ren contacted Chika Sasaki.
Sasaki said she would encourage her to go out with him.
She also told him about Daiki and said she would give him a light nudge as well.
In the meantime, he would do what he could do.
No matter what, he wanted to go out with Wakaba.
He doesn’t want to give his place next to Wakaba to anyone else.
