- Chapter 49 - Crossing Paths, Traumatized, and Yet… Chapter 49
When it was decided to put on a play at the school festival, Ren played the main character and Wakaba the heroine, and in order to create an atmosphere that would encourage the others to join the play, he gave Sasaki the heads-up.
At first Wakaba said she would play the backstage role, but Sasaki pushed hard for her to play the heroine, and everyone agreed, and Wakaba ended up playing the heroine.
Ren had nothing but gratitude for Sasaki.
During the play, there was a scene in which they hugged each other, which made Ren very happy.
When he and Wakaba practiced together, he spoke softly to her so that she would be aware of him.
On the day of the festival, everything went well.
The play was a lot of fun, and during the hug scene, he hugged her tighter than ever, but Wakaba hugged him back.
In the afterglow of hugging Wakaba, he said to himself.
“I can do it today!”
Ren thought.
After the play was over, he was planning to confess his feelings to Wakaba and go around the rest of the festival with her, but he thought about what would happen if she didn’t make it, so he decided to confess his feelings after the festival was over.
When he went to the classroom, he found Wakaba and Sasaki together, so he decided to tell her in front of Sasaki.
“I want to talk to you after the festival, so please listen to me.”
He told Wakaba and looked at Sasaki.
“I will take responsibility and bring her to you”
After the festival was over, he and Wakaba decided to have a talk.
Until the festival was over, all of the male friends went to the booths and other attractions.
When the festival was over, Wakaba came to Ren with a message, perhaps prompted by Sasaki.
They decided to go home together, and on the way home, he was so nervous that he didn’t know what they talked about, but they talked as much as possible about normal things and headed for the park.
As soon as they got to the park, he said
“I love you, Wakaba.
Please go out with me!”
Ren confessed straight out.
He was confident that he would succeed because he had some lingering memories of the play today.
However, Wakaba did not have the look that Ren had hoped for.
The moment Wakaba was about to tell him something.
“If I don’t do this, I will be dumped.”
Ren thought so.
Before hearing Wakaba’s answer
“I don’t think it would be good if I told you suddenly.
You don’t have to answer right now.
I want you to take your time and give me your answer.
Thank you for listening to me today.
See you at school!”
Ren told Wakaba and left the park running as if to escape.
He was confident that today would go well.
Even from Sasaki.
“I’m kind of aware of it.”
Sasaki had sent a message saying
During the festival, she had a lot of fun.
On the way home, he was nervous but excited.
But the moment he saw Wakaba’s face after he confessed his feelings for her, he couldn’t imagine that it would go well.
When he got home, he called Sasaki.
He told her that he had confessed his feelings to her, but that he had not heard her answer, and that he wanted her to encourage Wakaba so that they could go out together.
She said everyone was going to Daiki’s cultural festival together, so he didn’t want her to contact Daiki as much as possible during this week.
He wanted Wakaba to concentrate only on his confession and to focus her attention only on Ren, even if only a little.
After his confession to Wakaba, Ren kept in touch with her frequently.
After school started, he made it a point to spend time with her in the same way as before.
Wakaba, too, was awkward at first, but she did as usual.
Sasaki encouraged Wakaba to go out with him.
He also sent a message to Sasaki to tell Daiki not to contact Wakaba, so that Wakaba would not be aware of him.
He was not sure how much contact Daiki and Wakaba had, so he asked Sasaki about it, and Sasaki told him that they did not have much contact.
It was unclear how much contact Daiki and Wakaba had with each other, so Ihe casually asked Sasaki about it, and she told him that they didn’t keep in touch very much.
He was thankful that Sasaki had told Daiki so well.
He knew that he had to make sure that they would work together at Daiki’s high school festival so that Daiki and Wakaba would not talk to each other as much as possible.
