Chapter 40: Most Intolerant Man

Mu Beiting turned his head and looked at Ye Anxin quietly for a long time. Then his thin lips opened slightly, and he said coldly, “Drive!”

The driver nodded and started the car.

“Mister, what’s going on?” Ye Anxin had actually wanted to tell Mu Beiting that her parents were upstairs, and since he was already here, perhaps he could go up to pay them a visit. After all, he was their son-in-law, and they would inevitably meet in the future.

It began to slip on the smooth surface, and, after making a few swerves, the car hit a big tree on the side of the road and stopped.

“Ay!” Ye Anxin had been sitting in the car, and, when the car lost control, her entire body had lost its balance and lunged forward. Mu Beiting hurriedly grabbed the door with one hand, and, with the other hand, he grabbed Ye Anxin and pulled her into his arms.

Ye Anxin raised her head and asked him with concern, “Mister, are those people trying to assassinate you? How lawless they must be for them to dare to use a gun against you out in the open like that?”
