Chapter 39: An Unexpected Reunion
“Let go of me, you creep!”
Seeing that he had thrown the pills away, An Ziqi muster her courage and finally opened her mouth.
Desperately struggling to avoid his repulsive kisses, An Ziqi scratched wildly at him with all her might.
Instanly, more than 10 bloodied scratch marks appeared on Mr. Zhang’s neck and face.
“Mr. Zhang, if you go home in this state, the fierce tigress at home would surely kick you out of the house.”
“I think you would be made to kneel on the washboard.”
The onlookers laughed at Mr. Zhang.
…
All the bosses looking on from the side were enjoying themselves, shouting and egging him on, not caring whether they were making matters worse.
Deeply humiliated, Mr. Zhang was furious as he reached out and tugged at An Ziqi’s shorts.
Originally planning only to go to the training center, An Ziqi had worn a pair of shorts since the weather was too hot. She had not expected to be dragged along to this place. Now, her outfit appeared to have made things more convenient for this beast.
“No! Get off me!” An Ziqi screamed and lifted her legs to kick at him. However, Mr. Zhang had caught them and forcibly restrained her, his rough hands wandering boldly over her body.
An Ziqi felt suffocated by an overpowering sense of hopelessness.
In the struggle, they crashed against the table and a wine bottle rolled off it.
An Ziqi grabbed the wine bottle and aimed it hard at Mr. Zhang’s head.
The wine bottle instantly shattered.
Blood streamed from Mr. Zhang’s head.
With his head wounded, Mr. Zhang froze on the spot, hands soothing his head.
An Ziqi seized the opportunity to stand up and, with the broken bottle in her hand, walked shakily to the end of the room where Mr. Wang was forcibly restraining Xia Tianxing on the floor. Aiming at Mr. Wang’s head, she hit him hard on his back with the broken bottle.
“Ah!” Mr. Wang screamed in pain, releasing Xia Tianxing and rolling to one side.
All this happened within 20 seconds.
The other people in the room were all engrossed in their own fun and did not even react to what had been going on.
Helping Xia Tianxing up, An Ziqi opened the door and rushed outside.
At that moment, the other people in the room finally reacted, and, in a flash, the room erupted into a flurry of confusion. The few remaining girls who were still conscious screamed at the top of their voices and dashed outside when they saw the blood flowing.
“Get hold of them. Don’t let anyone get away,” Mr. Zhang shouted loudly as he ran after them, fingering the blood oozing from his head.
The security guards in the hotel immediately appeared from every corner of the corridor.
Now, the Santa Fe Blues Club was a seedy place which indiscriminately accepted as their clientele—anyone as long as they had power and money. Naturally, their security team would only do what was in the interest of the big bosses, their customers, with total disregard for the welfare of the women entertaining them.
Very quickly, all the girls who had run away were caught and returned to the room.
A bunch of men surrounded An Ziqi and Xia Tianxing, pushing them one step at a time into a corner.
An Ziqi clutched her chest tightly with one hand while her other trembling hand kept the almost unconscious Xia Tianxing behind her back. Frantically, she checked out the area around her.
A few people had walked through the corridor during that time, but no one bothered to offer aid or even pay attention to them.
His face bloodied, Mr. Zhang dashed through the crowd and approached the two women.
Raising his hand, he slapped An Ziqi hard across her face before grasping her neck in an iron grip.
“Go on, why don’t you run away? Just you wait and see what I will do to you.”
Unable to breathe as she was being grappled, An Ziqi shut her eyes hopelessly, resigned to her fate.
“I am surprised to see that S City has deteriorated to a state of lawlessness.”
The crowd heard approaching footsteps and a voice dripping with sarcasm.
Mr. Zhang relaxed his grip and, looking very angry, turned around to check out the person walking toward them.
He was tall and fit, dressed in a white shirt with one button opened. Holding his suit jacket over one arm, his gentle smile belied the fathomless darkness in his eyes.
In S City, the clientele at Santa Fe Blues were not the ordinary men on the street.
