Deadly Doting Marriage - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Carlos Reeves, the young master of the Reeves family, was a dignified and well-known man. His nickname was the Smiling Tiger.
He was popular among women, and he enjoyed their company as well. He was a veteran womanizer who had been in many relationships, yet he would not let any women latch onto him.
Erwin Smith was the third young master of the Smith family. On the surface, he appeared to be a frivolous thug who just sat around and did nothing, but beneath that facade, he was the ultimate big boss who was second to none.
The third man was John Lambert, a man who was as much loved as he was feared by women, for he was the ruler of Hillford, the king who dominated Hillford’s economic lifeline.
John sat in the booth, holding the wine glass in his hand and fiddling with it. The wine in the glass glimmered in a rich red color under the beam of the spotlight.
“John, Carlos has messed with the wrong woman this time!” Erwin said, smiling as he picked up his wine glass.
John’s dark eyes darted toward Carlos. “Huh?”
“Cassie Becker!”
Erwin stifled a chuckle. “Cassie Becker got drunk and took him for a money boy, and he really went with it and slept with her.”
Carlos kicked at Erwin and explained, “Do I look like an easy guy? I did sleep with her, but we just slept in a bed!”
John asked, “What exactly happened?”
“Carlos was drunk that day when he ran into Cassie Becker, who was also drunk. She straight away brought him to a hotel, and they stayed there until the next morning. Soon, the Beckers are going to ask Carlos to marry Cassie.”
Erwin explained everything in one breath and laughed out loud. “From now onward, Carlos will have to say goodbye to the single life and surrender his freedom.”
Carlos exclaimed, “That’s ridiculous! Why would I marry her! I didn’t even touch her!”
“Still, you two spent the night together in the same room.”
Carlos was speechless. In all his life, he had never experienced such awkwardness that had sullied his innocence forever.
“Carlos, the Becker family is acceptable. Apparently, they have a ranch in Europe. It’ll be very useful for your future development,” John said in a low voice.
“John, do you think I need a marriage of convenience to strengthen my family business? I don’t get what you thought when you agreed to the engagement with that b*tch, Sherri Millan. John, do you really like her?”
John furrowed his brows as he raised his glass and quaffed the wine.
“It’s just a game, don’t take it seriously,” John said coldly.
“Let me tell you something horrifying. A few days ago, my mom told me that they had arranged a marriage for me when I was young.” Upon saying that, Carlos turned to look at John with mischievous eyes.
John met his gaze and asked, “Which family?”
Just when Carlos was about to speak, Erwin said, “Wow, innocent lady. Come here.” He then whistled at the girl.
Carlos and John followed his eyes to the girl.
They saw a girl wearing a waitress uniform heading in their direction, her hands holding a wine tray.
The girl’s innocent beauty soon attracted the attention of the men in the bar. They would whistle at her whenever she walked past them. Erwin did the same too.
He then asked doubtfully, “Look at the girl, she looks familiar. Doesn’t she look like the girl adopted by John?”
John’s expression had turned grim and terrifying as he watched the girl pouring wine to the customer. ‘Who else could it be if not Kathleen!’
Her pure beauty became even more vivid as the bright lights shone on her body.
Erwin could not help but say smilingly, “John, how can you treat her like this? She’s still the young lady of the Lambert family. I know she’s adopted, but you don’t have to make her work part-time here, do you?”
Meanwhile, Kathleen was pouring wine for a man, who then reached out and touched her hand. “Wow, your hands are so smooth. I bet it’ll be awesome if you use them for other purposes.”
His friends broke into laughter beside him. “Brother Zack, are you getting laid tonight?”
The man was drooling over Kathleen as he stared at her attractive face. Just when he lifted his hand to touch her chin, a big palm caught his hand and fractured it. He could hear a crack when the bones broke.
“Ahh… Who the f*ck is it! Do you have a death wish!”
Before he could even get a clear look at the perpetrator, the man delivered a kick and sent him flying. He bumped into a pillar in the bar with a thud, blood spewing out of his mouth.
John grabbed the girl by her hand and left right after. He ordered Erwin, “Clean up the mess!”
Kathleen was taken aback when she saw John’s angry face. “Young Master… Why are you here?”
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” John dragged her out of the bar, his strong body looming over her and pressuring her. “Are you desperate for money? Is that why you come to this place and make a fool of yourself?”
“Have you forgotten about yesterday’s punishment? Are you here to let others take advantage of you? You’re such a slut!”
