The Sacred Condemnation Demoness glanced at Chen Mo expressionlessly. Her body slowly sank into the swamp.
In addition to it, Chen Mo’s expression sank when he saw Inoch slowly sinking into the swamp too.
Seriously? Are you kidding me right now? Does this quest even give Players a chance to complete it?
Chen Mo was well aware of how strong the Sacred Condemnation Demoness was. Even though his current max HP was over 1300, he still could not endure a single hit from the Sacred Condemnation Demoness.
He had no choice but to give his best!
“Slime King’s Roar!”
Slime King’s Roar was able to increase his jumping height by two meters for ten seconds. He was extremely vulnerable when he was on the ground, thus he might have a chance to dodge the Sacred Condemnation Demoness’s attacks.
However, his priority was to locate Inoch. He had to find out where Inoch was and kill her within ten seconds. Otherwise, he would lose his only chance!
“Deadly Poison Bellow!”
Inoch had gone into hiding under the swamp. Chen Mo had no choice but to give the Mutated Green Slime the order to use its only active skill.
Deadly Poison Bellow: The Mutated Green Slime will let out a furious roar that poisons every nearby enemy. The poison will inflict 100 damage on the target every second for 7 seconds. Skill Cooldown: 5 minutes.
Chen Mo thought the Mutated Green Slime’s skill was utterly useless. After all, the poison could only inflict 700 damage on an enemy at most since it could only last for 7 seconds. It was nothing for a high-level monster.
However, it had turned out to be a life-saving skill for Chen Mo!
“There she is!”
Two green damage indicators with values around 100 floated above the surface of the pitch-black swamp from two different spots!
Even though both the Sacred Condemnation Demoness and Inoch were hiding in the swamp, they were obviously still within the Mutated Green Slime’s range of attack. The Deadly Poison Bellow worked!
Chen Mo saw two numbers appearing in two different spots. They were both hiding in the swamp still, but Chen Mo could easily tell which one of them was Inoch.
Chen Mo fired a bolt at Inoch’s hiding spot without any hesitation.
Thud!
-366!
-100!
-35!
-75!
-20!
Chen Mo’s arrow inflicted a series of damages on the target.
Chen Mo only had a few skills available, yet his equipment was utterly impressive. Each of them had given him outstanding attributes, thus the total damage inflicted by a single arrow was quite shocking. Inoch only had less than 2500 HP left.
Chance!
He would be able to slay Inoch in five seconds at this rate.
Chen Mo took a huge step back after firing the bolt. He tossed a trap in front and dodged to his left.
Boom!
The trap exploded less than a meter from him, revealing a black figure.
It was the Sacred Condemnation Demoness. Chen Mo had roughly estimated her speed based on the distance between the spot where she sank into the swamp and the spot where the damage indicator was.
The Sacred Condemnation Demoness that Inoch had summoned was not as strong as the ones he had stumbled into in the Sacred Land of Condemnation. Otherwise, he would not even stand a chance against her.
Even so, it would be impossible for him to dodge the Sacred Condemnation Demoness’ attack if it wasn’t for the Slime King’s Roar.
A second had passed. Two damage indicators appeared again. Chen Mo shot another bolt at Inoch.
Inoch had moved to somewhere else, but her location was still exposed by the damage indicator.
Inoch did not have much HP left when she summoned the Sacred Condemnation Demoness, thus she had stopped taking the initiative to attack. She was focusing on dodging the bolts, but it was impossible due to the damage indicator exposing her location.
The bolt had reduced Inoch’s HP by another 500. Her HP was now less than 2000!
Inoch decisively came out from the swamp. She knew she was going to lose to the adventurer at this rate.
Inoch dashed toward Chen Mo. She was trying to flank him together with the Sacred Condemnation Demoness!
Chen Mo was shocked. He could barely dodge the Sacred Condemnation Demoness’ attacks. He was obviously going to die facing them simultaneously!
What now?
He must defeat Inoch before she could come any closer!
It was the only choice!
Fire!
It’s a hit!
Inoch…she only had around 1500 HP left!
Keep going!
Another bolt!
Inoch’s HP was less than 1000. He just needed two more hits to defeat her!
However, Chen Mo no longer had time to attack. Both Inoch and the Sacred Condemnation Demoness were already within inches from him!
He could not afford to jump into the air. Inoch could still hit him in the air!
Dazing Trap!
The Hunter’s skill with relatively low damage had come into handy in the crucial timing again.
Chen Mo took a step back and tossed the Dazing Trap forward.
Boom!
Inoch, the Sacred Condemnation Demoness, and Chen Mo were knocked back by the explosion!
It had only bought Chen Mo some time. Both Inoch and Sacred Condemnation Demoness started approaching rapidly in the following second!
Disguise!
Chen Mo did not panic. He used the skill Disguise as soon as he was knocked back by the Dazing Trap.
Inoch lost sight of Chen Mo. Her action of pouncing at Chen Mo suddenly came to a stop.
It was the exact opportunity that Chen Mo was looking for. The skill Disguise had tricked Inoch, yet it did not trick the Sacred Condemnation Demoness since the swamp was her territory.
Therefore, Chen Mo fired a bolt at Inoch before the duration of his disguise came to an end. He took the initiative to show himself.
Chen Mo jumped toward the Mutated Slime as soon as he showed himself. He barely dodged the Sacred Condemnation Demoness’ attack!
Meanwhile, Inoch quickly reacted when Chen Mo jumped into the air. She ran toward Chen Mo at lightning speed before he landed on the ground.
“Jump!”
Chen Mo uttered in the air.
The Mutated Slime jumped as soon as it received the command as if it had long awaited it. It blocked Inoch’s attack just in time!
-1100!
Inoch’s dagger stabbed the Mutated Slime heavily. Its HP instantly hit the deck, but it prevented Inoch’s attack from hitting Chen Mo.
Chen Mo landed on the ground and fired a bolt at Inoch.
A damage indicator appeared. Inoch’s body stiffened before falling to the ground.
The swamp and the Sacred Condemnation Demoness disappeared as soon as she hit the ground. The room reclaimed its initial appearance.
System Notification: You have completed the quest “The Tryst”!
System Notification: You have obtained 100 Silver!
System Notification: You have captured “Inoch”!
Chen Mo let out a relieved sigh when he saw the three consecutive notifications. He immediately froze on the spot.
“There’s indeed a quest reward for it still.”
The person that designed the quest did not forget to give the quest a reward after all. Chen Mo did not trigger an infinite loop by completing the quest. He had bet it wrong.
However, he was not too surprised by it.
If the person that designed the quest assumed no one could possibly complete the quest, he might not assign a reward to the quest if it was real life, hence Chen Mo would have placed the bet correctly.
However, it was still a game after all. Every quest must be assigned a reward unless it was the kind of quests that could not be completed. Otherwise, the quest would not be accepted by the system.
Chen Mo learned one thing from completing the quest.
There was no quest that could not be completed in Genesis!
It was part of the requirement of designing a quest for the game, thus there was no quest that could not be completed. Otherwise, Chen Mo would only be wasting his time on the quest “The Tryst” if he was a quest that could not be completed regardless of how strong he was.
The reward of the quest was really not that impressive. Apart from keeping Inoch as a captive, the 100 Silver was all it had. Any other Player would lose their mind after seeing the reward considering the amount of effort they had to put in.
However, Chen Mo seemed perfectly calm. He grinned looking at Inoch who was no longer able to move because of her injuries.
Even though he had bet it wrong and the reward was not as gratifying, he now had an NPC in captivity. He believed he was the only Player that had captured an NPC!
He had long wanted to conduct all kinds of experiments on the NPCs in the game. How could he possibly miss out on such a great opportunity?
