“Master Ren…” Director Gao was very fond of the scene which Wang Hao had put forward. However, revising the script involved many other matters, such as the budget. He looked at Wayward Ren with an embarrassed face, then said, “I think revising the scene like this will give us better results, but we might need more funds. Look…”
“Do it!” Wayward Ren agreed without a second thought. “If Hao says it needs to be revised, then we’ll revise it! Money isn’t a problem!”
“It’s settled, then!” With Wayward Ren’s support, Director Gao was relieved. He immediately started rearranging the actors and prepared to do the revisions.
After Director Gao got back to work, Wayward Ren asked, “By the way, Hao, I have a question. Director Gao is usually a pretty arrogant person. What happened today? Why did he allow you to express your thoughts?”
“I said in the van that the drama was going to be a failure, and someone snitched on me.” Wang Hao shrugged his shoulders. “I knew I was already in trouble, so I just told the director all my ideas. Hehe.”
“Oh, I see.” Wayward Ren smiled and said, “No wonder. Who’s the fink?”
Wang Hao pointed at Lu Tong, who was standing next to them with a pale face. “Him.”
“Him?” Wayward Ren waved and two bodyguards came forward. He said, “Get him out of here. He’s an eyesore.”
It was as if he was flicking away a fly. The two bodyguards then took Lu Tong out as if they were walking a chick…
Wang Hao was so glad that the eyesore was gone. He smiled and said, “Look at this extravaganza. Are you the investor? You told me yesterday you’re making a film or something, but I never thought it would be this one.”
“I’m doing it just for fun.” Wayward Ren glanced at the lead actress who was practicing her lines, then said, “Hao, what do you think about that girl? I’ve been attracted to her since the first time I saw her. After a long time trying to impress her, there’s finally hope for me. I made up an excuse and asked my family for some money to make a drama so that she can become famous. What do you think?”
Wang Hao had never had a good look at the lead actress. She looked quite beautiful; while she definitely couldn’t compare with the superstar Ice Queen Elegant Bai, she still rated 90 marks.
“So-so.” Wang Hao touched his chin. “I can’t understand the world of the rich. As long as you like her.”
Wayward Ren smiled and said, “Hehe, she’s indeed my cup of tea. Right, Hao, do you know who I saw the other day?”
Wang Hao sipped his mineral water. “Who?”
Wayward Ren lowered his voice. “Dreamy Wang!”
“Pfft —” Wang Hao spurted out the water when he heard the name. He looked utterly alarmed. “Isn’t she studying in Emperor City? She’s back?”
“Hm, she’s back.” Wayward Ren’s heart was obviously still fluttering with fear. “Luckily, I ran fast enough after I noticed something was wrong. F*ck, she scared the hell out of me. Hao, be careful. This girl is even fiercer than she was when we were in high school!”
“I know, I absolutely know.” Wang Hao nodded hard. “If I see her, I’ll turn around and run!”
There was a reason they were so scared. This Dreamy Wang wasn’t an ordinary person!
When they were in high school, Wang Hao had a nickname: Hao the Second Dragon. Even so, he had been kicked by Dreamy Wang! Not in the sense that they broke up with each other, but real kicks like in martial arts!
Pain in the ass!
“Run as fast as you can.” Wayward Ren looked around furtively before he said, “I remember she went to the University of Technology. I don’t know what she studied in those two years. Anyway, she looks more frightening than before.”
“Okay, okay!” Wang Hao felt a chill run down his spine. “I hope I won’t run into her!”
“Hm, just pray you don’t.” Wayward Ren got up. “I just wanted to remind you: If you do see her, don’t piss her off. Otherwise, things will definitely end miserably. Hao, sit here. I’m going to go hit on the girl to comfort myself!”
“Okay.” Wang Hao nodded. He quickly spoke again as he watched Wayward Ren leave. “Right, Wayward Ren. Can you do me a favor?”
Of course Wayward Ren would help Wang Hao — the rest of his life depended on this man. “Sure! What do you want me to do?”
“You fatso.” Wang Hao chuckled and gave Wayward Ren a gentle punch. “There’s nothing else I need to do here. Can you tell Director Gao that I want to take leave? I’ve got something important to do this afternoon. Can you do that?”
Today was the day his novel was released. It was important to start promoting it. After spending the whole morning with the crew, he should go back and finish advertising the book. Although “Battle Through the Heavens” had been the top fantasy novel in the previous world, Wang Hao didn’t think he could just sit there and wait for it to get on the leaderboard — if he was a reader, he wouldn’t read a novel that only had 10,000 words, right?
“Huh? You’re leaving?” Wayward Ren said, “I was thinking about grabbing a drink with you after this.” He suddenly remembered something and was completely startled. “Hao, are you… going on a date? Ah, that’s really important! I’ll tell the director now!”
“Nonsense!” Wang Hao said, “It’s proper business. Nothing else.”
“Fine, we’ll drink after you finish your business!” Wayward Ren then went to talk to the director. Of course, Director Gao wouldn’t reject him. He soon came over and told Wang Hao, “Wang, you can leave first. We won’t continue filming today. I don’t want to waste your time. I’ll ask the screenwriters to revise the script in the next couple of days. Can you take a look after they’re done?”
Given his experience, it was normally very rare for Director Gao to acknowledge someone’s ability after such a short scene. The thing was, however, that their investor apparently had a close relationship with Wang Hao. So, Director Gao had to take care of both sides, especially since Wang Hao had delivered quite an impressive plot. He wouldn’t mind making use of this opportunity for his own ends.
“Okay, no problem,” Wang Hao replied with a smile on his face. “See you. I’ll be here tomorrow.”
