Chang’an Street was just across the road, and the car reached the destination pretty soon.
He ordered a load of dishes and, true to her words, she did not touch any of it at all.
She was serious this time and refused to be tempted by the spread in front of her.
The service staff quickly served up an extraordinary dish that did not fit in with the rest of the spread. It was a plate of Chinese culler.
Jiang Beiyuan wrapped a piece of lettuce around one of the fried fritters with his chopsticks and delivered it close to her mouth.
“Mrs. Jiang, are you still mad?”
His eyes sparkled with loving indulgence and, at the same time, sought for a truce.
She looked down at the man’s long and clean fingers, as well as at the roll of fried dough wrapped in lettuce.
Strange, how did he know that she loved to eat this?
She was about to open her mouth when she looked right into his smiling eyes. Immediately, she pouted and looked away.
“I’m not eating. I have gastritis!”
Look at him, smiling so happily. He’s probably thinking in his heart: Little thing, you wanna fight with me? A culler is enough to make you wag your tail at me.
Tsk, is my pride so small?!
He knew that she was not suffering from any gastric pain. If she did, she would not look so at ease while brushing him off. Hence, he leisurely asked her again, “Then how about we go to the hospital?”
“Not necessary. I’ll be fine once I’m back to my shop.”
Jiang Beiyuan: “…”
It looked like she would not make things easy for him today.
After footing the bill, he asked for all the untouched dishes to be packed and drove her back to her shop.
The southern road was congested again. Being quick-tempered, she could not stand the thought of being stuck in a traffic jam for an hour.
“I want to get down. Let me get off here!”
He pushed the bag of food that he’d had packed in the restaurant into her arms. “Even if you’re mad at me, you still need to eat.”
“I’ll have instant noodles later. I’m not gonna eat your food!”
While he was distracted, she took the chance to open the door and slipped out.
The hair bun on top of her head wobbled dangerously as she hurried along. Having a headache by then, she decided to release the bun and let her long flowy hair cascade down her back instead. The slightly wavy hair framed and accentuated her small, exquisite-looking face.
She was as lovely as a butterfly under the sunny sky. Her eyes looked especially vivid on her small, delicate face due to her simmering anger.
Both sides of the road were lined with cars.
The owner of a maroon BMW X6 whistled at her as she walked past. Winking at her, he called out, “Little lass, do you need a lift?”
She swept her eyes at him as her peachy lips uttered softly, “Get lost~”
Her telling-off was melodious in the ears of the chap.
He chuckled instead. “You’ve got a temper. I like that.”
Rolling her eyes inwardly at him, she did not say anything more and continued on her way instead.
Until she heard a crisp, aloof voice from behind her—
“Mrs. Jiang!”
That startled her.
She turned her head abruptly. The voice seemed to have been carried along by the wind and had floated right to her ears. Despite the lightness, there was a sense of weight and oppression that accompanied the voice.
There was about three to four persons’ length between them. The man stood sturdy and tall as he walked briskly over to her. He was shrouded in a glow.
Those who were sizing her up quickly disappeared at the sound of the strong and sturdy “Mrs. Jiang.”
She did not expect Jiang Beiyuan to get off the car as well. Cursing under her breath, she hastened her steps in the hope of shaking him off.
His strides were wide, so even though he was walking slowly, he caught up with her easily as he kept pace with her.
“So you’ve forgotten the appendicitis pain you had in the past. Is that right?
“Haven’t I told you to eat less of those instant noodles? This is for your own good. Can’t you stop your nonsense?”
“…”
He nagged continuously as he followed behind her.
Pressing her two palms against her ears, she quickened her steps.
This fella must be a Scorpio. She once had a friend with the same star sign.
Scorpios were the type who would not bother with someone if they did not know that person well.
However, once they were on familiar terms with the person, they would poke their noses into that person’s every affair.
This star sign would nag incessantly once someone did not go along with his wishes.
She would listen to him in the past because she gave in to him willingly. More importantly, she was giving him face.
But that’s not the case anymore now!
“Yan Nian!”
He lost his patience and reached out to grab her collar.
Bark bark!
