The entire hall was extremely quiet. Everyone’s gaze was focused on the two of them. When the man heard her clear voice, his brows furrowed even more, especially the indifferent ‘what a coincidence’.
After paying the bill, Mo Bai was about to ask Lian Qingyan what was wrong when he saw her standing there. Then, he saw Su Yanxi and the man standing only one meter away from her. He instinctively walked over, “Yanxi.”
When Lian Qingyan saw this, she followed after him in a daze. She smiled and greeted the aloof man, “Hi! Dr. Lu, we meet again.”
Lu Jingyan glanced at Lian Qingyan and nodded slightly. His gaze shifted to Mo Bai, who was looking at him strangely. Finally, it fell back onto this pretty and good-looking face in front of him. His thin lips moved slightly as he asked in a cold voice, “Why are you here?”
“The law firm’s gathering,” Su Yanxi replied calmly. She turned to look at the people who had spoken to Lu Jingyan and nodded politely.
“Um… Dr. Lu, we’ll be leaving first. See you at the hospital tomorrow.” The few people immediately returned to their senses when they saw Su Yanxi greeting them. They smiled and nodded at her before waving goodbye to Lu Jingyan.
The moment they left, the lobby became even quieter. Lian Qingyan looked around, cleared her throat, and reached out to tug at Mo Bai’s arm. “Ahem… Mo Bai, it’s getting late, and I didn’t drive here. Send me back! It’s on the way anyway.”
Mo Bai frowned and looked at Su Yanxi. “Yanxi, then you…”
“Aiya! What are you worrying about?! Isn’t Dr. Lu here? I don’t think she still needs us to send her home, right?” Lian Qingyan smiled and interrupted Mo Bai. She raised an eyebrow at Lu Jingyan and asked, “Dr. Lu, don’t you think so?”
Su Yanxi glanced sideways at Lian Qingyan and pursed her lips without saying a word.
“That’s all! Yanxi, see you next time! We’ll get going first.” Lian Qingyan held Mo Bai’s arm with one hand and waved at Su Yanxi and Lu Jingyan before dragging Mo Bai towards the entrance of the lobby.
Mo Bai wanted to say something when he was about to leave, but he hesitated. He turned and left the restaurant.
After watching them leave, Su Yanchi slowly retracted her gaze. She looked up and said simply, “Thank you.”
The coldness at the end of her sentence was a little piercing to his ears. He retracted his gaze and his hands naturally fell into the pockets on both sides of his pants as he walked away.
Staring at his tall back, Su Yanxi pursed her lips and followed.
Su Yanxi stopped in front of the car for two seconds before she reached out to open the door of the backseat. However, she suddenly heard the sound of the car door closing. She glanced down slightly and the window of the passenger seat rolled down. The man’s cold and arrogant voice reached her ears. “Sit in the front. I’m not your driver.”

Su Yanxi was speechless. She retracted her hand, got into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt.
The car drove slowly and the cool night breeze blew into the car, blowing her hair into a mess. She gently tucked her hair behind her ear and closed the window.
Soon, the car arrived at the riverside villa. The silvery-white crescent was reflected on the river surface, making it appear sparkling. The moment the car stopped, Su Yanxi unbuckled her seatbelt and thanked him politely before getting out of the car. Just as her feet touched the ground, she heard a swoosh behind her as the car drove into the night.
Su Yanxi turned sideways and looked in the direction where the car had left. Her heart sank slightly as she turned to look at the villa in front of her. She had lived here for two years, but every time she saw the villa, she would feel a sense of familiarity and unfamiliarity, just like her marriage with him.
They had been married in secret for two years, yet they were like strangers.
