Dragon Under the Bed - Chapter 4

“Woah, you’re drenched!”
“Where have you been in this kind of weather?”
Upon returning to the mansion, the cleaning maids Lucy and Lexy welcomed her.
They were identical twin sisters, from their faces to their hairstyles, but if you looked closely, they had different features on their faces. Lucy was the one with a mole under her eye and Lexy was the one with a mole at the end of her nose.
“Because of Milena’s errands…. Gasp, I forgot!”
She left the boots behind while trying to avoid Christian.
“Aah, do I have to go again?”
Lucy frowned upon hearing the story from Lynn, who was lamenting.
“If it’s not urgent, just go pick it up tomorrow.”
Lexy agreed.
“Right. It’s raining so hard, but you’re asked to run errands on a day like this of all days.”
“Aah, what do I do?”
It’s not that she didn’t want to, but the thought of going through the rain made her feel exhausted.
It might stop raining, so she decided to wait for now, and went to the dorm to change her wet clothes. Then, Lynn invited the twins into the room.
“Lucy, please take this to the printing house.”
“It’s done?” Lucy smiled and took the envelope that Lynn handed over.
Lynn reached out her hand and stopped Lucy, who was about to open it on the spot.
“Wait.”
Lynn looked at the door, a few seconds later; she heard someone approaching, and the door opened wide.
“Oh? The three of you are gathered in this place again.”
The one who came in was Milena, Christian’s exclusive maid.
“Lynn, I told you, didn’t I? If you hang out with this pair of sisters, be careful, as you may develop a bad habit of giggling or talking to yourself.”
“Doesn’t giggling mean you’re satisfied with your life, and talking to yourself often means you’re transparent inside? I don’t think it’s such a bad habit.”
As Lynn spoke her thoughts without noticing, Milena’s brows narrowed.
“Lynn, can I give you a piece of advice as a senior?”
“Sure.”
“Interpersonal relationships are the most important thing to survive as a maid for a long time.”
“It’s not work?”
“It’s also important to be good at work. But that’s only cleaning and laundry, right? Even if you get fired, there are plenty of people who can do that job.”
“Um, I don’t know, maybe.”
“Mrs. Molly is not a person who is swayed by mercy, so it’s no use trying to look good. If you make a fatal mistake, she’ll fire you mercilessly.”
“Then I have to be careful not to make a mistake.”
“You fool! Everyone is bound to make mistakes. Are there people who make mistakes because they want to?”
“Then what should I do?”
As Milena finally heard the question she wanted, she shrugged her shoulders and answered.
“You should have an influential person who can protect you even if you make a mistake. That way, you will be able to work in this mansion for a long time.”
“I see. I’ll keep that in mind.”
“I’m glad you understand.”
As Milena nodded her head with satisfaction, Lynn naively asked.
“So, who’s the most influential person who can protect me even if I make a mistake?”
“You are truly hopeless! Do I have to say it myself?”
“But….”
“What happened to the boots I told you to pick up?”
“Ah! About that….”
Lynn, who was in trouble, was saved by the sound of a light knock.
“You’re all here.”
Mrs. Molly looked around the room and said.
“Master has been looking for you. I’ve been searching for you for a long time. Get out quickly.”
As Milena naturally stepped forward, Ms. Molly pointed to Lynn.
“Lynn Blom, you too, come with me.”
“Me?”
Lynn was puzzled, and Milena intervened with an unconvinced face.
“Why is Master looking for Lynn?”
“I don’t know. Come on, both of you.”
At Mrs. Molly’s urging, the two followed in bewilderment.
The twins, who were hiding the envelope they received from Lynn behind their backs, faced each other with anxious eyes.

“I’ve brought Lynn.”
Upon entering the room, Christian was standing in front of a full-length mirror in a comfortable robe.
Lynn’s throat went up and down without a sound.
Wearing only a thin shirt, his well-sculpted body stood out even more. In addition, his collarbones peeked through the gaping collar and his wet blond hair looked very bewitching.
Christian turned around and looked at the three in turn. His gaze reached Lynn, paused for a moment, and then fell.
Christian opened his mouth.
“I went out today and saw that my boots were dumped in a store.” He pointed to the long box on the table.
As soon as Lynn saw the box, she recognized that it was the box she had forgotten and left at the cosmetics store.
“I noticed because my name was written on the lid.”
“That was my mistake.” Lynn stepped forward. “I was going to pick it up today, but Master found it first. I’m very sorry.”
Christian glanced at Lynn. As soon as he returned home with his boots, he called Molly and described Lynn’s appearance. Because of her unusual appearance, Molly immediately knew who he was looking for.
“What’s your name?”
“Lynn Blom.”
“Isn’t it Milena’s job to take care of my clothes?”
“There’s a lot of work that Milena does, so Lynn was helping.” Molly stepped forward and answered instead.
She had wondered why the master was looking for a maid whose name he didn’t even know and even called for Milena and herself, but it was understandable to be offended by the situation.
It was not a big mistake, but the problem was that Christian, the master, found the boots that were handled carelessly and brought them back himself.
“It’s my fault for entrusting an important task to a child who’s not yet trained. I’ll teach her sternly, and change Milena’s helper to another child.”
“How long has Lynn been helping Milena?”
“It’s been about ten days.…?”
“Ten days.”
Christian changed the subject of the question and looked at Lynn.
“You’re Lynn? Have you ever cleaned this room?”
“Pardon? N-No? No, I have.” Lynn, who received the surprise question, gibbered.
Milena had told her the words to answer if something like this happened, but she couldn’t remember what she had said.
“Master!”
“You, don’t interfere.”
Milena rushed out to speak, but in a few words, Christian silenced her and continued to question Lynn.
“Answer me clearly, Lynn. You’re the one who made the rose cream, right?”
“That’s right.”
“How did you know I was allergic to lavender?”
The rapid-fire questions forced her to reply without giving her much time to think. Lynn panicked and felt like hiccups were about to burst out.
She wasn’t really good at lying, but now she’s in a situation where she has to lie.
“I heard from Milena.”
“You were the one who cleaned my room.”
One round and back to the first question. Lynn frowned, but answered properly this time.
“When Milena was cleaning, I was assisting next to her.”
“Just assisting?”
“Yes.”
She wasn’t lying because of Milena’s threats.
Lynn didn’t even blink an eye when the skinny girl rambled on about whatever it was. However, when asked to explain why the position of the mirror had changed and how she knew what kind of bath bomb he would use in advance, she replied that she only assisted because it seemed like it was a big deal.
She thought it was no problem because they wouldn’t find out that Milena was slacking if she answered in such a way, but there was one thing Lynn didn’t know.
Christian gave Milena a cold look.
“I see. This time you answer it. Why did you lie about cleaning up on your own?”
“T-That’s….”
Millena, who did not expect to be questioned in this way, opened her pale-blue mouth.
“I thought I didn’t have to tell Master because I was doing all the important things and Lynn was only doing the small errands anyway.”
“You thought you didn’t have to tell me. Does that mean I asked you a pointless, useless question?”
“That’s not what I meant….! I’m sorry.”
“If you have a lot of work, it doesn’t matter if you share it. But, as I said, don’t lie about trivial things.”
“I’ll be careful.”
“If there’s anything else you haven’t told me, tell me now.”
Milena’s eyes shook.
It won’t end with just one scolding when it becomes known that she has been slacking on everything, shoving it all on to Lynn.
That alone could not be revealed.
She shook her head.
“There’s none.”
