Emperor of Nine Suns - Chapter 58
Chapter 58: Splitting The Dragon
When everyone had been working together to have harvested the snow python, Chu Chen finally understood why Qing Yue brought Liu Bo along. This mundane looking young man had been a specialist when it came to harvesting.
With just a few strokes of Liu Bo’s sharp butcher blade, the colossal snow python had been cut into multiple pieces. At the same time, Liu Bo used some special dye to have labeled each individual part and explained to the group which of those parts had been more expensive and had better value.
Places to have cut, extraction of the bones, and descaling the body. Chu Chen realized that cutting up the scaled dragon’s corpse had been quite a difficult task that required a lot of technical knowledge.
Fortunately, a great master would have produced quality students. Under Liu Bo’s tutelage, Chu Chen and the others quickly got the hang of it. They worked diligently around the colossal snow python’s corpse, cutting out parts after parts that had been rich in ice spirit energy as spoils of war.
All the flesh and bones had been translucent, as though sculpted from blocks of ice. Ice spiritual energy filled the area, having made it a wonderful sight to behold.
“Hey, Chu boy.”
Chu Chen had not been sure when Missy Leng Qianxue stood behind him. He wiped the sweat from his forehead while putting down a stretch of silvery colored sinew he extracted from the python’s body.
“Didn’t you just wish we would never cross paths again? What are you doing here?” Chu Chen intentionally asked with a straight face.
Leng Qianxue’s arrogant face immediately turned scarlet. “I wanted to leave, but…can you leave me one of its rib bones?”
“Nope.”
Chu Chen flat out rejected Missy’s request and continued to cut up the snow python’s corpse along its rib bones with a boning blade while his free hand continued to yank at the scaled dragon sinew.
Leng Qianxue’s face turned even redder. She had been used to having things her way since she was young and had never experienced rejection before.
“G-g-give me one rib bone from the scaled dragon. I’ll purchase it with spirit stones,” she said through gritted teeth, “Name your price.”
“Not selling.” It was not that Chu Chen had disliked spirit stones, but he wanted to have taught this arrogant and headstrong pretty pet of his a lesson.
Leng Qianxue had never expected to have been rejected after having offered to purchase it with spirit stones. She had been stunned on the spot with her eyes having turned red, on the verge of crying.
“Didn’t your father teach you to lower yourself when asking for help?”
“Lower myself? What do you mean?” Leng Qianxue asked softly, teary eyed.
“To put it simply, when you’re asking for help, you need to humble yourself. Don’t think of yourself as high and mighty. You need to be sincere and modest,” Chu Chen said as he pulled out a stretch of silver-colored sinew with a loud snap.
“Belittling myself to beg for it? I can’t do that.” Leng Qianxue shook her head firmly.
“Then you’ll get nothing. You can go home to your father empty handed,” Chu Chen said coolly.
Leng Qianxue had been about to leave after having heard those aggravating words from Chu Chen. However, the lights in her eyes dimmed slightly as she bit her lip. “What do I need to do for you to give me one of its rib bones?”
“If you let me touch your butt, I’ll give you one rib bone,” Chu Chen said in a serious tone.
“B*stard!” Leng Qianxue’s face turned red once again. She never expected Chu Chen to have made such a crude request. She had been trembling indignantly as her voluptuous bosom rose and fell. Although she knew she had been no match for Chu Chen, she had been planning to fight him to the bitter end.
“Catch.”
Having successfully teased and taught her a lesson, Chu Chen chuckled and threw a crystalline rib bone at Leng Qianxue.
Having been caught completely off guard, she caught the crystalline scaled dragon rib bone and stood still in the wind.
“Go back quickly. If you grind the scaled dragon rib bone into powder form, it can work as an excellent medicine for your old wounds. For you to hunt the snow python at all costs, I’m afraid it’s not just to prove yourself to your father. It’s more likely that you’re here looking for a cure for your old wounds that are acting up, right?”
Chu Chen stated nonchalantly. However, Leng Qianxue’s expression slowly changed. “Y-y-you…how did you know? I’ve never told anyone about this.”
“It can be deduced with simple logic. You should get going.” Chu Chen waved her away and continued to harvest his spoils of war.
Meanwhile, Leng Qianxue, who led three other disciples from the Secret Sky Sect, took her leave using the small snowy path. Unable to have resisted, she sneaked a peek at Chu Chen every so often, having watched him shrink in size in the distance.
This teenager had vastly been different from those around him. He seemed to be all knowing, be it in the path of martial techniques or medicine. At the same time, he had been like a demon to her. In the mind of that arrogant girl, a sense of curiosity grew as she wanted to learn more about this curious teenager.
“I’m afraid that she will one day be tamed by you.”
The little hamster poked its head out of Chu Chen’s clothes and watched as Leng Qianxue departed, lamenting sympathetically.
“Cut your crap. Go back to bed.”
Chu Chen pushed the little hamster’s round head back inside, having blocked its view.
“Help, someone’s torturing me. A man without a shred of kindness is the worst.”
“Stop bullsh*tting. I have no kindness. If you anger me, I’ll eat you as a snack.”
The little hamster had been quite cowardly. Chu Chen noticed that threats worked wonders on it. As expected, it immediately quietened down. It pouted its mouth angrily and snuck back into the small sleeping bag it had in Chu Chen’s clothes with a look that seemed as though it would no longer have talked to him.
Chu Chen chuckled. He knew the hamster was a braggart. Soon enough, it would not have been able to resist his urge to talk nonsense.
“Found it! I’ve found it! Junior Brother Chu, I’ve found the thing you’re looking for!”
Along with Liu Bo’s excited shouts, Chu Chen saw that he had cut open the snow python’s skull and held onto a piece of crystal that looked like it had been sculpted from a block of ice. It had been surrounded by a layer of white-colored fog.
Everyone’s gaze fell onto the piece of glowing crystal in Liu Bo’s hand as their eyes were filled with envy.
“Black frost soul!”
“This snow python’s body actually managed to condense a piece of black frost soul. Junior Brother Chu, your luck is just amazing.”
“With this, it’s equivalent to acquiring frost crystal elixir. Each elixir is worth a fortune.”
“There’s actually black frost soul, one that was formed within a snow python undergoing transformation!” The little hamster could not have resisted but poked its head out. “Only the frost nether fruit can produce a piece of miniscule black frost soul. The snow python feasts on frost nether fruits. This snow python had been cultivating for several centuries. The number of frost nether fruits it consumed is beyond counting. I’m afraid this black frost soul formed within it is the best you can even find in the entire Taihan Snowy Mountain.”
“I finally found it!” Chu Chen had been overjoyed. After so much effort, that was the main reason he came to Taihan Snowy Mountain. Now that he found it, he had naturally been thrilled.
“The frost black soul is essentially a strand of extremely pure innate ice Qi. It can improve one’s clarity and help a cultivator clear the mind and purify the soul. The frost crystal elixir refined from it is to maximize its effect to ensure the cultivator maintains a clear mind when they attempt to achieve the Spiritual Droplets Stage, preventing the disturbance from inner demons.”
Obtaining the black frost soul meant that his journey to Taihan Snowy Mountain was at its end. The remaining parts had not been something he cared much for.
Under Qing Yue’s supervision, the division of the spoils of war were done in a quick and satisfying manner.
80 percent of the spoils had been allocated to Chu Chen. All the scaled dragon blood, flesh, skin, and scales that belonged to him were kept into jade containers and kept within Qing Yue’s storage ring.
Although Chu Chen obtained most of the treasures from the snow python, the others still felt grateful to him. If it were not for him, it would have been impossible for them to have obtained the parts of a python that had transformed into a scaled dragon.
Due to what Chu Chen had done, they had also managed to harvest the frost lotus. Everyone, including Li Tian who looked down on Chu Chen, changed their attitude towards him, having thanked him continuously and sincerely.
After they had been done dividing up their shares, they used the leftover meat and bones that they could not have taken away and made it into a bowl of medicinal soup. When they had been enjoying themselves, Senior Sister Qing Yue took out the Crystal Spring Sect’s beast summoning bone flute. She channeled some spiritual energy into it and blew lightly. In less than two hours, that griffin that brought them there landed from the sky and once again sent them on their journey back to Crystal Spring Mountain.
However, a major incident beyond Chu Chen’s expectation happened!
