Chapter 37: Dragon Race History!
The fairy sneered and said, “Look, the Darkin Race has such a violent temper.”
[Bloodthirsty Edge]
Athosen immediately prepared to condense a bloodthirsty blade from his boundless killing intent.
Matthew immediately stopped him. “Enough, Athosen.”
He already knew Athosen’s temper.
Even though they had only interacted with each other for a short period of time, it was very easy to tell because it was too obvious.
Darkin Race, arrogant and conceited.
No wonder he was sealed by the cunning Gods they spoke of.
“You have no right to command me!”
Athosen turned back to Matthew and gave him a fierce look. It made a hoarse sound.
“You’re my beast!” Matthew spoke in a dignified manner.
“I’m not—”
Athosen remembered the advice the stone statue had given it before it left, and it swallowed its denial halfway.
“Hehehe ~”
The fairy pursed her lips and let out a nightingale-like laughter.
“Who would have thought that the proud Darkin Race would become someone else’s beast. If this was the Ancient Era, I wonder how shocking the news would be.”
“B*tch!” Athosen’s eyes burned with rage.
But considering Matthew, it gritted its teeth and retreated angrily to a corner to escape this truth that it did not want to face.
“Alright, stop laughing at Athosen,” Matthew said coldly. “Since you know about the Darkin Race, I assume you have some information here. Can you help me find it?”
The little fairy put away her beautiful smile and returned to her serious face. “Sure.”
Then, the fairy waved her hand, and an ancient book appeared out of thin air, slowly landing in front of Matthew.
Matthew reached out and caught the dark red book. The strange aura emanating from it made him very uncomfortable.
There was a line of words on the cover of the book written in an eerie style—Darkin Race Records.
However, in order to understand more about the Darkin Race, he endured the discomfort and opened the first page of the book.
The yellowing paper recorded:
The Darkin Race was one of the Ancient God Races. Later on, they degenerated into the Devil Race!
God Races… Devil Races… What are all these?
The very first page confused Matthew.
He could understand a few words, but he did not understand what they meant.
Eventually, Matthew flipped to the second page.
Seeing the contents of the second page, he could not help but frown.
Matthew looked up at the fairy and showed her the book. “Why is the second page incomplete?” he asked.
On the dark red ancient book, two-thirds of the yellowed pages were missing.
Judging from the marks on it, it seemed to have been burnt by flames.
The fairy calmly explained, “After the Darkin Race was sealed, the Gods hid all information about the Darkin Race. Whether it was the memories in the minds of the people, the records in the books, or the traces of the Darkin Race’s existence, all of them were destroyed, as if the Darkin Race had never appeared.”
“What!?” Matthew’s heart jolted with shock.
The Gods were that powerful?
To be able to destroy the traces of a race!
With such an ability, they were indeed worthy of being called God.
“Fine.”
Matthew read through the books helplessly.
It seemed that he was already lucky enough to see this incomplete information about the Darkin Race.
Any other place would have probably never heard of the Darkin Race.
However, this also made Matthew begin to suspect that the Romeo family was not as simple as it seemed. At the very least, their ancestors were definitely not ordinary people.
Otherwise, there was no way the information about the Darkin Race could be preserved. Moreover, it was under the circumstances where the Gods were deliberately trying to destroy it.
Matthew gathered his thoughts and carefully read through the book.
On the intact part of the second page, there was ordinary information about the Darkin Race.
It was incomplete, so Matthew quickly flipped to page 3.
Page 3 was not badly damaged, except a little bit on the upper left corner.
It recorded the characteristics of the Darkin Race:
Before the Darkin Race fell, they were… famous gods who controlled the world… The people of the world revered them greatly.
Although most of the third page was intact, there were still some parts where the words could not be seen clearly. The information that Matthew could understand was very limited.
A moment later, Matthew turned to page 4.
It recorded why the Darkin Race was sealed.
After countless years, the Darkin Race found out… and then fought a world-shaking battle… but was ultimately sealed.
Page 5: After that, in the Dark Brilliance Era, the Darkin Race broke the seal and descended into the world once again. Through… they fell degenerated into the Devil Race, and once again… fought a huge battle. They won a massive victory, but the Gods, who used to be on good terms with them, joined forces with their enemies and sealed them… This time, the seal was stronger than before, and it erased all traces of the Darkin Race.
From page 6 and onwards, all the information was incomplete. Matthew was unable to obtain any information from them.
“How is it?”
Suddenly Athosen appeared behind Matthew and asked in a hoarse voice.
It possessed the Darkin Race’s inherited memories, but it didn’t inherit much about the matters regarding the seal.
As such, it also wanted to know why the Darkin Race had fallen to such a state despite their former glory.
“The information on it isn’t complete. We can only guess that there was a huge conspiracy, and the Darkin Race was sealed after discovering it.” Matthew replied with some disappointment.
He could only summarize the contents of the entire book. There was too much incomplete information.
“Conspiracy…” Athosen’s clenched hands dug into his flesh.
At this moment, it hated itself. Why did it come into being so late and not come into the world earlier to increase its strength?
That way, it might have been able to save the Darkin Race and destroy that damned conspiracy!
“Strength…” Matthew’s desire for power grew.
He felt that he was also involved in this huge conspiracy.
To be able to have the Gods and other races join hands to seal the Darkin Race, the people behind the scenes were definitely extremely formidable.
As for what level of power it was, it was not something Matthew could fathom.
Matthew gathered his thoughts and handed”Darkin Race Records”to the fairy.
The little fairy waved her hand and the book disappeared from his hand.
It must have returned to its original spot.
Only then did Matthew ask, “Even the records of the Darkin Race that are so rare are here. There should also be records about the extinction of the Dragon Race here, right?”
The little fairy nodded and said, “There is indeed. Do you want it?”
“Yeah,” Matthew responded.
The fairy waved her hand again, and the space around her distorted. A book with a bright cover appeared in front of Matthew.
Matthew saw the words”Dragon Race History”on the cover.
He took the book and flipped to the first page.
The Dragon Race was one of the oldest races on the Vartas continent. They possessed boundless power and could control the order of the world and change the laws of the universe.
Just a few words were enough to shock Matthew beyond belief.
Mobilizing the order of the world and altering the laws of the universe!
How powerful must one be to achieve this…
