- Chapter 87-2 - Escaping the Archduke of the North’s Obsession Chapter 87-2
Duke Kyar wanted to see her face during mealtime since she used to be so busy in the past, but her situation was much different then and now.
In the past, she had stayed at Rubella Castle as a guest.
It would be impossible for a servant like her to eat with him now.
It was incredible for a commoner to eat at the same table as the Archduke.
Smirking, Duke Kyar caressed the top of her head gently.
“I did tell you that I’m going to show the others how much I’m into you, didn’t I?”
“Well, still—-”
“Why? Are you worried that these people who had nothing to do with their lives would fabricate more rumors?”
“No.”
“If not, then just do as I say, Isabella.”
No one could stop this stubborn man at this time.
She knew from previous experience that nothing would work no matter what she said.
“I will, Your Highness.”
Duke Kyar grinned as if he loved her response.
“Then, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Make sure to take your medicine before going to sleep,” Isabella added.
Duke Kyar gazed at her and replied, “I’m glad you care about me.”
He patted her head one last time before leaving her room in regret.
Finally, she was alone in her room.
Isabella sat on the bed and took a deep breath.
She still hadn’t wrapped her head around where this situation was headed.
Her mind was too chaotic.
“Ignis, do you think His Highness liked me?”
“It’s more than ‘like,’ Isabella. He only had eyes for you just like he used to in the past! I knew he was crazy about you!”
Ignis’ response made her heart pound.
She wanted the Archduke to like her again for more than a year and a half, and it finally came true.
Everything felt so surreal.
“You might think I’m jesting, Isabella, but even if I met you without drinking the love potion, I would surely fall in love with you. I’m certain.’
Isabella wanted to cry when that particular memory crossed her mind.
She was so grateful that the Archduke kept his promise despite losing all of their memories together.
The man still loved her even after she turned back time.
Loving warmth filled her chest until it was about to burst and Isabella exhaled an excited breath.
She was so happy that she might have a hard time falling asleep.
**
Isabella had fallen asleep at dawn due to uncontrollable excitement, and her body had jerked when someone knocked at her door.
Right.
She remembered Duke Kyar telling her to come to the Dining Hall at eight in the morning.
“Did you wake up, my Lady?”
Isabella blushed in embarrassment when she heard Anna’s voice on the other side.
“Ma’am?”
Anna opened the door carefully and entered her room, and Isabella could only cast her a shy glance.
“You can speak comfortably, My Lady.”
“Why do you call me ‘My Lady,’ Ma’am?”
“His Highness commanded everyone not to call you by your name. He also warned that anyone who does it will be punished.” Anna answered politely without making eye contact with Isabella.
Did he tell everyone not to say her name out loud?
Isabella was sure that the Archduke had no memories of their time together.
Why was he doing this?
“His Highness told me to assist you like your new maid. Do you need anything right now, My Lady? New gowns?” Anna asked.
Isabella shook her head. “No, ma’am. I’m wonderful.”
It was awkward to be treated like a lady when she stayed in a separate house for servants just yesterday.
“Then I’ll pick the gorgeous one and bring it to you, My Lady.”
“Please act like you used to be around me, ma’am,” Isabella said.
Anna’s smile turned awkward.
“I should get you ready, My Lady. His Highness is waiting for you in the Dining Hall.”
“In the Dining Hall? Is your Highness alright? Did he wake up without a problem?” She asked in concern.
Isabella had overslept and couldn’t go to His Highness’ bedroom to check on him.
“Yes, you don’t have to worry about it. May I help you prepare, My Lady?”
Isabella waved her hands in refusal.
“It’s alright. I’ll get ready quickly and go to the Dining Hall.”
“Then I’ll take my leave, My Lady.”
Anna was too respectful in the end as if she had feared making a mistake in addressing her.
What did Duke Kyar tell Anna?
Isabella’s question was solved as soon as she entered the restaurant.
All the servants stood in line with a rope tied to their hands.
Isabella’s eyes trembled at the strange sight.
