Chapter 38: Silver Beast Tamer
Charles watched as one person after another was eliminated. In particular, the elimination rate of Black Iron Beast Tamers was almost 100% so far.
Upon seeing this, Charles’ forehead was covered in sweat and his palms were sweaty. It was obvious how nervous he was at that moment!
“Adrian, do you think I’ll be eliminated?” Finally, Charles couldn’t control his panic and whispered into Adrian’s ear with a worried expression.
Adrian was actually equally nervous. Although he had a Level-3 spiritual beast following him, he was still an entry-level Beast Tamer. Furthermore, he had not even obtained the Black Iron Beast Tamer identity card yet. Therefore, he had yet to think of how to answer Nedam’s question.
“You’ll be fine. Your Armored Mane Pig is a rare spiritual beast that can both attack and defend. Even though its level is relatively low, your chances of being accepted are still very high.” Even though Adrian didn’t have much confidence in himself, he still comforted the flustered Charles with gentle words.
On the other hand, Richard wasn’t particularly nervous. After all, Bronze Beast Tamers had the highest acceptance rate, and his Flaming Wind Fox was a fire-attribute combat-type spiritual beast. Thus, there was a high chance that he would be accepted.
However, Richard was very worried for the two of them, especially Adrian. He lowered his voice and reminded him, “Mr. Adrian, when you sign up later, please say that you’re a Silver Beast Tamer. Otherwise, I’m afraid it won’t be easy to pass.”
“But I’m not a Silver Beast Tamer yet.” Adrian didn’t like lying and frowned.
Richard had no choice but to explain, “Mr. Adrian, it doesn’t matter whether you have a contract with the Fire Demon Lizard or not. As long as you have the ability to control a Level-3 spiritual beast, that means you’re already a Silver Beast Tamer.”
Upon hearing this, Adrian nodded hesitantly and said softly, “I’ll try.”
The people at the front were being eliminated one after another. Soon, it was Richard’s turn.
Richard walked forward and said, “My name is Richard. I’m a Bronze Beast Tamer and my spiritual beast is a Level-2 Flaming Wind Fox.”
Nedam had eliminated more than a dozen people and was getting impatient. Now that he heard Richard’s words, he knew that he had finally met someone with enough strength to look at.
Thus, he looked up at Richard and asked in a low voice, “Is it a fire-attribute combat-type spiritual beast?”
“Yes,” Richard replied to him as he nodded.
Only then did Nedam nod in satisfaction. He handed over a card and said slowly, “Congratulations on being accepted. Please take this escort card and do the paperwork inside. Next.”
Richard wasn’t very surprised to hear this. However, he was also very happy as he knew that he was one step closer to success.
“Thank you.” Richard walked in first with the escort card, but he didn’t go inside to do the paperwork. Instead, he stood there and waited for Charles and Adrian to be admitted as well.
Next, it was Charles’ turn. He walked up nervously and said nervously, “I… I’m Charles… a Black Iron Beast Tamer…”
Charles had thought about what to say, but when he was about to say it, he simply couldn’t control his panic.
Nedam saw Charles’ nervousness and instantly said impatiently, “What is your spiritual beast?”
“It’s an Armored Mane Pig!” Charles straightened his body and answered seriously.
The impatience on Nedam’s face slowly disappeared. He rubbed his chin and pondered for a while, as if he was weighing whether this spiritual beast was useful or not.
Very quickly, just as Charles thought that he was going to be eliminated, Nidam suddenly took out an escort card and handed it over. He said softly, “Your strength barely makes the cut, but your spiritual beast is quite useful. Take it for now.”
“Yes, yes, yes.” Charles looked at the rather high-demand escort card and took it quickly, his heart full of excitement and joy. Then, he hurried over to Richard.
“Next,” said Nedam as he glanced at Adrian, who was a little way off the counter.
Adrian walked over quickly with a hesitant and troubled look on his face. After all, he wasn’t sure if he was considered a Silver Beast Tamer or not. He also didn’t know whether he would be suspected of lying if he claimed to be a Silver Beast Tamer.
At this moment, Richard and Charles secretly gave him an encouraging look, indicating that Adrian should speak boldly.
Adrian took a deep breath and said softly, “Hello, I’m Adrian. I’m a Silver… Silver Beast Tamer.”
He had said it. He had finally said it. Adrian’s frantic heart suddenly felt very apprehensive.
The moment Adrian finished speaking, almost everyone who heard him turned to look at him.
This thin and weak young man was actually a Silver Beast Tamer?
Their entire team didn’t even have many Bronze Beast Tamers, let alone Silver Beast Tamers!
“You’re a Silver Beast Tamer?!” Nedam looked at Adrian in surprise. He quietly sized up the handsome man and quickly asked, “What’s your spiritual beast?”
Adrian hesitated for a moment before replying, “It’s a Level-3 Fire Demon Lizard, a fire-attribute attack-type spiritual beast.”
Nedam suddenly stood up. He pushed his chair away and walked to Adrian with a look of surprise. “Are you really a Silver Beast Tamer?”
It was not as if Nedam had never seen a Silver Beast Tamer before. In fact, he had seen many of them.
The reason why he was so excited was because it was extremely rare for him to meet a young Silver Beast Tamer like Adrian in the escort company!
After all, escorting goods was a very dangerous job. If one was lucky, they might be safe.
However, if one was unlucky, it was likely that not even their corpse would be left behind!
Furthermore, most Beast Tamers above the Silver level had bright futures ahead of them. Unless they had no other choice, they would not choose dangerous jobs like escorting the transport of goods.
After all, with their status, it was very easy for them to find other jobs that were safe, stable, and paid well.
“Sorry, I don’t have an identity card.” Adrian was a little nervous and quickly said, “But my spiritual beast is resting outside.”
“Then I’ll have to trouble you to show me the spiritual beast,” said Nedam as he led the way, his brisk movements seeming very urgent.
Adrian could only follow him quickly and lead the way.
When the others saw this, they stopped lining up and followed them. They wanted to see what a Level- 3 spiritual beast was like.
After all, in a small place like Syr Town, there were very few spiritual beasts above Level-3! There were so few of such beasts that it was ridiculous!
