Evolution Theory of the Hunter Chapter 197
J: Chapter 10 of 10. Now, the reason why there are only 10 chapters translated since last time is because Kyle is forbidden from accessing the sites necessary for translating (for example, the site with the raws) and he got a warning for that. He cannot continue since that would cause some serious problems. So, the bad news is this: we will be forced to go on hiatus until we finish our military service. We apologize to everyone who comes here to read ETH. If no other translators pick up ETH before we return, we will finish it then. Good bye, everyone, and (maybe) see you all in 2021.
I was astounded at the figure of him pointing his spear at me while crumpling his expression fiercely but I answered while maintaining my calm.
“I’m the owner of this dungeon.”
“The owner?”
He snorted as if astounded.
I turned my sight to the vicinity of the Red Hole where the hunters were on standby.
“To make a settlement in front of another person’s house. This is quite absurd.”
“What the hell is this guy talking about? This place is under our control so get the hell out if you don’t want to die!”
“That’s what I should be saying though?”
It was originally a level 3 dungeon. However, I changed it to a level 11 one before setting off.
If there was someone in there, it wouldn’t immediately change to a level 11. The dungeon has to be cleared or reset for the level to change after all.
However, once the dungeon gets reset, it turns into hell itself.
Looking at them, they seemed to mostly be level 5.
The number was about 50. Calculating those in the dungeon, there were probably up to 80. This was a pretty large scale on the level of a small mid level raid team.
The province of Pyeongyang wouldn’t care in particular since they sold it to me so they were planning on taking over this place using that gap.
They had probably gathered items like crazy these past few days.
I took out the documents on dungeon rights from my bag. I brought them just in case there would be guys like this so it was all good timing.
The moment I handed it to them, a slight commotion occurred among them.
There were no problems in the documents. Of course, they probably don’t have the ability to distinguish whether this is real or fake but since my attitude was confident, it couldn’t be helped that they were in chaos.
“Your name is Jeon Sang-min……?”
The person that seemed to be the leader approached and returned the documents.
His name was Seo Jong-beom.
He was a tanker type hunter that used a broadsword and level 7 armor.
Most tankers possessed an important role in their team so I was thinking that he might be this raid team’s leader.
“My name is on the document.”
“Cheh. Arrogant bastard. But how would we trust this document?”
“Call the Pyeongyang City Hall if you’re in doubt. Or are you going to retreat after getting beaten up?”
Seo Jung-beom’s expression twitched at my words.
There was no way they would do so. I didn’t know how many days they had stayed here for but they probably got quite a few items.
This place was currently a level 3 dungeon. It hadn’t been upgraded to a level 11 dungeon yet and I was planning on raising it before entering so it was probably a pretty good place to hunt.
There was no way they would be willing to step back just because the owner came.
On top of that, this side only had two people so they thought it might be fine to take care of them quietly.
I had seen too many of such people so it wasn’t a particularly strange thing.
“Hm…… Wait a bit.”
I confirmed Seo Jong-beom’s eyes turn cold.
I thought that I would have to do some work even if it’s troublesome.
Edward opened his mouth while they were talking with Seo Jong-beom at the center.
“I think I know how things are going to go at this point. What are you going to do about them? Kill them?”
“I’m thinking about that as well. It’s tiring for me to kill someone each time something like this happens too.”
I could kill no matter how many if they were monsters.
But things change if they are people. If it was the past when I lacked strength I would have had no choice but to put my life on the line to kill them but I now possessed the power to take care of them with a single finger.
Even if I didn’t step up myself, it would be taken care of if I released the monster army.
Whether they died or lived all depended on how my mind moved.
I didn’t like killing people so easily.
However, I couldn’t just send them off like that. I had a police aquaintance called Son Aram so it might work out if I hand them over to her but this was North Korea in the first place.
Also, although I didn’t check, there was a high chance that they were Chinese citizens that lived in North Korea.
Even if I handed them to the police, it was uncertain whether they would help a foreigner like me. Especially when the relationship between our countries wasn’t good they might try to take my rights.
“As expected, I think the cleanest method is to kill them.”
Edward said.
I didn’t want to agree but that was the only method they wouldn’t cause a problem.
I felt that it might be good to have a private prison. It would be perfect if I could buy one from the store but it didn’t come out well.
Seo Jong-beom approached after concluding the short meeting.
“Did you come to a conclusion?”
“Ah. We don’t know if it really is your property but we decided to pull back for now.”
“That’s unexpected.”
“Well, we did work hard for a few days so we thought that it was time to rest.”
Seo Jung-beom said so and turned back.
I had to wait for those in the dungeon to come out so I took a seat with Edward and took a rest.
Edward opened his mouth.
“It seems to have been solved well. However, I feel like they’re up to something.”
“They might be trying to say otherwise once their comrades return. I don’t care either way though.”
“That might be so. I will go survey the surroundings for a bit.”
He went on his scouting duty without being told to.
It seems being called useless has been rather shocking to him. I said that it wasn’t the truth but it seems it wasn’t of much help.
He was a pretty helpful guy. I had good eyes but I didn’t have good perception and that part was covered by Edward. There was a reason I was taking around a guy.
It was to the point where I could feel Soo-ah being jealous of Edward after all.
Edward left and I searched the Delta Store.
I had gotten a huge amount of EP when I infiltrated the Alpha system before.
The amount of EP I currently had amounted to almost 5,000. On top of that, the item list had been unlocked up to level 7 so there were quite a few new items.
The things I usually looked through was the utility items.
Most of these didn’t drop in Red Holes. It could be said that they were the store’s exclusive items so they were items with great rarity.
The main products would definitely be the van and the related expansion items. The Space Expansion Marble was also an expansion item of the van.
I was looking through the new items to see if there was anything good but there were quite a few that caught my eye.
Long Distance Transmitter (0) : Able to communicate regardless of distance. Able to use by attaching to original module.
It was a finger sized device but it could be used as a wireless Egg and I could use it to call or use the internet when attached to a phone. It didn’t go through a base station or satellite so there was no need to pay a separate fee.
Of course, it wasn’t like that was the extent of its advantages. It could not only be used regardless of location, it could also be used in a place waves didn’t reach.
It meant that it was possible to use deep underground or even in dungeons.
If I distributed this to my teammates, it would be possible to contact each other even in extreme situations bringing up survivability rate.
“Hm……?”
I was looking through the other items as well when a certain equipment caught my eye.
It wasn’t a utility item but a weapon, but it had quite a usable option.
Dimension Sword (7) : When a critical hit is done, it does not kill the target but send it flying to an unspecified location.
It did say unspecified but it wasn’t like it sent it to space or underground or a place hundreds of meters above the ground.
It was limited to a place on the ground. Just that, it might end up on Antarctica if one had bad luck so there was nothing I could do about that.
It was a good weapon for those I didn’t want to kill but could just leave alone.
The price was about 700 EP.
To be honest, it wasn’t a cheap price.
It was to the point where I wondered if I had to pay such a price to save those guys.
However, thinking about it another way it was an item I needed. It was the best weapon for those that I didn’t entirely want to kill or those that would leave me with a bad aftertaste.
After pondering, I put it into my wishlist for now.
There might be a situation where I need it after all.
A while later, Edward returned.
His face seemed a bit excited. It felt like he saw something fun.
“What is it? That face.”
“Ah ah. I saw something interesting you see.”
“What is it.”
“There were other hunters at the bottom of the mountain.”
“Other hunters?”
“Yeah. It seems there were other guys aiming for this location. I could see them crawling up.”
“Their numbers?”
“Almost a hundred?”
I pointed at Seo Jong-beom as I opened my mouth.
“Are they allies of that guy?”
“Probably. They have the same crest.”
“So they called for reinforcements while buying time.”
I finally realized why Seo Jung-beom fell back so easily.
Another thing, I think they didn’t realize who I was yet.
Especially for guys that led raid teams, information was life itself. It might be different for others but there’s a chance that Seo Jung-beom knows me.
Otherwise, it didn’t make sense that they would bring close to 200 people to take down two people.
“There are too many people with good heads in the world. The problem is that they use their head in bad ways.”
If there was something he didn’t know, it would be that I’m incredibly strong and the fact that this dungeon has been upgraded to level 11 already.
Even if I left this place, it would be impossible for them to hunt here.
It would be fortunate if they didn’t get annihilate the moment they entered.
I thought up to that point when the entrance of the dungeon vibrated lightly as people came out.
As it had been a level 3 dungeon, there didn’t seem to be much damage. It couldn’t be helped that there were a few that were dripping blood but it was good considering hundreds of monsters came out.
I got up from the seat and went towards Seo Jung-beom.
He turned to me as well as if having been checking on me.
He opened his mouth first.
“We will leave without you pressing us.”
“You. You know who I am right?”
“Are you someone I should know?”
“It’s fine if you don’t. By the way. Can I request something?”
“Requet?”
“I would like you to tell the ones below not to come up.”
“Wh, what are you…….”
“The warning is only once. If you leave without doing something stupid I will let you go this once.”
“Hm…… I got it.”
Seo Jung-beom nodded and left.
