Chapter 34: Want To Snatch?
David stopped walking and continued to feel.
However, the slight tremors disappeared.
He frowned. Had he misunderstood earlier, there was actually nothing at all?
Shaking his head, he brought the prey back to his lodging and quickly took care of them.
David was brooding over what had just happened earlier. Given his huntsman’s intuition, he knew that it wasn’t simple.
There was a need to investigate what was going on and why there was a sudden tremor.
The sky darkened. If 100 days was a target, then one-tenth of it had finally passed.
If there were no other accidents, with his current reserves, he would be able to hold on safely.
He took out the key from under his pillow and looked at it again under the moonlight.
He would go out tomorrow and try to find the entrance to the ancient tomb.
A new day arrived. After finishing his daily compulsory exercises, he left the house with his weapon.
Since the ancient key had been found by Morton and company, he would first search within the range of their territory.
He didn’t waste any time. First he went to the northeast and southeast lines of defense, fanning out like the last time he’d searched for sticky clay.
This way, he wouldn’t be in a dangerous situation.
Fortunately, the system had hinted that it was within a kilometer of his lodging. That was about the same distance he had gone for the clay previously.
While looking for these things, he would also look for food nearby and observe the changes in the surroundings.
He was still puzzled about the tremors last night.
David found nothing in either direction. The environment also seemed no different from before.
Apart from being able to see small animals any time while on his way, nothing had changed.
The people in the livestream were very puzzled. They didn’t understand what he was doing.
“What does he want to do today? Why didn’t I get it?”
“Who knows? He looks like he’s looking for something again?”
“Always looking for something. David sure has a lot of ideas.”
“I still hope that he stays in his lodging. It’s so dangerous to go out like this.”
“That’s right. If he remains at his lodging, he can easily stay for 100 days.”
“Did you guys notice that there have been more small animals on the island recently?”
“That’s true. Everyone else seems to have something to eat, there’s no lack of food at all.”
“Could it be that the production team was afraid of losing too many people and intentionally intervened?”
“How is that possible? In the past, most people didn’t even last a hundred days. Weren’t they still left alone?”
A number of people looked as confused as David. They all found it strange.
Why were there so many small animals all of a sudden?
This allowed those who were giving out to immediately get food and survive.
David came to the northwest and southwest areas again. If he still couldn’t find the tomb, he’d go back.
He walked to the place where he had last seen Horace and his group, and found that there was a smell of smoke and fire there.
Horace and company had already finished half of their camp. After all, they had a lot of manpower and also a small knife as a tool.
Hence, they weren’t much slower. Unfortunately, they caught a pregnant Lightning Mink and three of them were killed by it.
David hadn’t been here since that incident.
When he came here again today, he did not expect to feel a brand new sense of habitation.
Could it be that Horace, who had survived, did not leave and instead, had returned to bury his brothers?
David thought a lot about, but he didn’t take a look out of curiosity
As long as they did not provoke him, he could pretend that nothing had happened.
After looking around, he still could not find the so-called entrance to the ancient tomb. He could only give up for now.
It was at this moment that dark clouds gathered in the sky once more and covered the sun.
It seemed like it was going to rain soon.
David looked at the sky. It was probably too late to run back now.
He looked around and prepared to find a tree to hide from the rain.
Soon, rain began to fall. He had also found a large tree in the shortest time possible.
Whoosh…
Heavy rain instantly poured down, and the sound of raindrops landing on leaves could be heard all around.
Right at this moment, a burly man appeared before him.
The burly man was 2.3 meters tall and looked very sturdy and strong. His body was covered in tattoos, giving him a fiendish feeling.
In particular, there was the most obvious scar on his face, trailing from left to right. It looked especially sinister.
Holding a chicken and a rabbit in each hand, he acted as if nothing had happened in the face of the storm.
He walked around the valley very casually. His aura was very strong.
The burly man also noticed David’s presence and turned to look at him, sizing him up.
When he saw David’s waist bag and shoes, he revealed a look of disbelief.
He stopped and walked towards David.
“Hey, man, why do you have shoes and bags?” Maurey asked.
David said, “Made them myself.”
“Oh?” Maurey raised his eyebrows and grinned. “Can you make them for me?”
David replied calmly, “Give me something in exchange.”
Mo Lei casually threw the rabbit and pheasant in front of him. “These two things should be enough, right?”
David glanced at them. “No need.”
“You…” Maurey did not expect him to reject so decisively.” Food is scarce on the island. You actually don’t want them? ”
David smiled and said, “In the past, it was indeed scarce, but now, small animals can be seen everywhere. How are they scarce?”
Maurey thought about it carefully and felt that what he said made sense.
A few days ago, it had been especially difficult for him to find food. He had to travel far and out every day for food.
However, since yesterday, the number of small animals around had become more concentrated.
He seemed to be able to catch them anytime and anywhere, there was no scarcity at all.
The scarcer something was, the more valuable it was, and vice versa.
Maurey nodded in agreement. “You have a point. What do you want then?”
David shook his head. “I don’t lack anything right now. There’s nothing I want.”
“Haha… you don’t lack anything? You make it sound like you have everything.” Maurey didn’t believe him at all.
David didn’t want to get involved with Maurey, but it was storming.
The two of them were also taking shelter under the same tree. He had no choice but to speak to him.
Maurey looked at his equipment and still felt very tempted. If he had a set of those, it would be much more convenient for him.
He said again, “Are you sure I have to trade something for them?”
David said, “That’s the rule. If you can’t do it, then there’s no other way.”
Hearing his words, Maurey was very displeased. “Rascal, don’t be too smug. I still have a fist. If you don’t give them to me, I’ll use my fist to teach you a lesson.”
David tilted his head and looked at the other party. He frowned and said, “You want to snatch them from me because I refuse to give them to you?”
