Chapter 5: Survived
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
David slowly approached the shadow with the club in his hand.
He held his breath and soon discovered the true appearance of the black shadow.
It was a black wolf the size of a Chinese pastoral dog. Its fur was pitch black and had sharp teeth and claws.
Especially his eyes, they were scarlet red, giving off an extremely sinister and terrifying feeling.
As he got closer, he smelled the scent of blood. On a closer look, he discovered that a piece of flesh had fallen off the right foreleg of the black wolf, revealing its white bone. Fresh blood flowed down the leg, wetting its black fur.
It was an injured black wolf. It must have been fighting the other wolves for territory. In the end, it failed and fled randomly before appearing here.
The black wolf faced David, whimpering softly, a low, threatening snarl in his throat.
When David saw that it was a wounded black wolf, he did not dare to waste any time and charged forward while swinging his weapon.
“Wu…” The black wolf dodged backwards, avoiding his attack. Moving its injured body, it was almost thrown off balance.
Seeing this, David felt even more confident. A familiar voice sounded in his mind right then.
“Congratulations Host on unlocking Combat Skill. Current level: LV 1.”
A few combat techniques instantly appeared in his mind. Although his proficiency was low, it was better knowing nothing.
In the livestream, his actions shocked many viewers.
Just as they thought he was going to escape, he faced the challenge head on.
One look at his movements and one could tell that he had not undergone professional training and was extremely inexperienced.
“He’s so lucky, the beast he met is an injured lone wolf. My suggestion is to use this opportunity to escape and preserve his energy.”
Wade’s voice sounded in the studio. Ally, who’d been feeling dreadful the whole time, slowly opened her eyes when she didn’t hear the outcome.
She cried out again when she saw David confronting a black wolf.
There were even more comments from the viewers, all of them wondering if he could win.
David’s skills improved with every swing of his club, and his movements also became more proficient.
“Why is he so lucky? The black wolf he met was actually injured?”
“He’s been blessed by God, is that not allowed?”
“His movements are becoming more and more proficient. This wolf is becoming less and less of a match for him.”
“I can already imagine him dragging the corpse of a wolf to go live a good life of eating meat.”
“Has this program been going on for a long time?”
“Hehe, this is only their first day on the island.”
Some were happy while others were displeased.
After David attacked several times, the black wolf realized that it was no match for him and turned to flee.
For David, this was food for the next few days. No one wanted to eat fish every day.
He immediately gave chase. The black wolf sensed danger and moved even faster.
However, it was severely injured after all, so it couldn’t go much faster no matter even at its swiftest speed. In the end, it could only run forward with a limp.
“Is this still the majestic black wolf? Why do I feel that it looks more like someone who’d just arrived at the island?”
“Three seconds of silence to mourn this black wolf. It met a cheat, disgusting.”
“The people above are so sour.”
David did not stop to rest. As he trekked through the jungle, he did not forget to leave markings.
He did not want to get lost here.
The black wolf suddenly stopped in its tracks. With a whimper, it collapsed onto the ground, unable to get up.
David was panting hard. The long and arduous journey had finally come to an end, and the exhaustion of his body also came washing over him.
Just as he was about to step forward, a figure suddenly appeared. It flipped over a large rock and came before the black wolf, lifting it up.
David frowned. He hadn’t expected to meet someone else here.
It was already dusk and the weather was gloomy.
The other party was very tall, about two meters in height. His body was brawny, full of muscles and he held a homemade bow in his hand.
David hurried forward and pointed at the black wolf in the other party’s hand. “It’s my prey. Please return it to me.”
Morton looked at him and surveyed him. Seeing his thin and weak body, he retorted, “I was the one who shot it to death just now. You said it was your prey?”
David saw the poor quality arrows on the black wolf’s body. My kill has been stolen?
He frowned. “I chased it all the way here just now. I had exhausted its stamina first.”
Moreton stared down at him, his gaze extremely contemptuous as his lips curled into a sneer.
Picking up the black wolf, he turned around and left without saying a word.
David frowned at the sight and stepped forward to block Morton’s path. “Why are you so unreasonable? Even if you had killed it in the end, you should at least give me half of it, shouldn’t you?”
Their argument was captured by a mini camera and broadcast online.
The audience recognized the tall man immediately.
“Morton! He’s Morton!”
“This is a real veteran. Is David tired of living? He actually dares to challenge a veteran?”
“Listen to what he’s saying. Half? He has the nerve to ask for half? Isn’t he afraid that Morton will smash his head?”
“The comment above doesn’t make sense. We personally watched him chase the black for a long time with our own eyes. It’s reasonable for him to ask for half.”
“Don’t forget the rules of the island—survival of the fittest.”
When Morton heard David’s words, it was like he had heard a big joke. He spat out two words through teeth. “Get lost!”
With that, he sent a kick towards him.
David dodged to the side, avoiding the blow from Morton.
Morton froze for a moment after missing his kick, clearly not expecting David to be able to avoid it.
David wasn’t going to sit around and do nothing. As soon as this man made his move, he knew it wasn’t going to be easy.
Although he now had Combat Skill, he was not this person’s match.
He grabbed one of the wolf’s legs while Morton was stunned.
“Don’t be too overbearing. I chased it for so long and you’re trying to steal my credit?”
“You overestimate yourself.” Morton was furious. Someone actually dared to snatch food from his hands.
Another kick. This time David couldn’t dodge it. He took the blow.
His hands did not let go. The wolf’s injured leg was torn off with the force of Morton blow.
David and Morton were both separated by this inertia. David held a ripped wolf leg in his hand. He took a few steps back and sat on the ground.
Tss… This person is merciless.
Not only did his stomach hurt, his leg hurt too.
Morton took two steps back too. The muscles in his legs flexed, and he immediately steadied himself.
Looking at the black wolf that was missing a leg, Morton’s face turned dark.
When he lifted his head to look towards David’s spot, he was shocked to find that the person had long disappeared.
David got a wolf leg, he accepted it reluctantly.
He had risked his life to fight the black wolf for such a long time. If he did not gain anything, he would feel very displeased.
When he fought with that person just now, he clearly felt the other party’s strength. He was still not his opponent.
He knew when to stop, and he didn’t continue the meaningless conflict.
This was at least enough for tonight’s dinner.
“He really survived!”
“Not only did he survive, he really seized a wolf leg from Morton.”
“How did he do it? Why am I getting more and more confused?”
‘Delicious Cola’ tipped a Land Mine.
‘I’m a stupid girl’ tipped an Aircraft Carrier.
‘If you’re not convinced, let’s fight’ tipped an Aircraft Carrier.
