Chapter 9: Furnace Meditation Technique

When he returned to the castle, Reiter went straight to his room.
Holding the Moonshine Potion in his hand, Reiter fell into deep thought. He was thinking that since the real simulation could bring back spiritual power, he could take the Moonshine Potion in the real simulation and bring it back.
After a few more cycles, wouldn’t his strength increase greatly soon?
This was originally a good thing that didn’t require any hesitation, but the only thing Reiter cared about was how to obtain Destiny Points.
Whether it was killing enemies of a higher level, advancing in strength, or giving birth, it was not something that could be done casually.
After hesitating for a moment, Reiter frowned and shook his head. He still had a few important things to do, so he had to conserve his Destiny Points for the time being. He hid the Moonshine Potion and placed it in a secret compartment in the room.
Downstairs, Rylei was nowhere to be found in the Deep Rock Castle. Reiter closed his eyes and sensed an abnormal elemental fluctuation in the garden behind the castle. He smiled. So it was here.
In an empty space in the back garden, Rylei was enjoying practicing magic in the snow. He stood up straight and used a wooden stick as a wand. With a wave of his hand, a water arrow shot straight ahead.
Grade 1 Water Mages could only learn a simple water arrow spell. His combat strength was relatively weak among many types of mages.
At Grade 2, one could learn the Water Bind Spell and the Water Spear Spell. The former had outstanding control abilities, while the latter was equivalent to an upgraded version of the Water Arrow Spell. It was just more powerful.
“Ahem.” Reiter coughed softly.
Rylei, who had been immersed in magic practice, knew who it was when he heard the commotion behind him. He stopped his magic training and turned around in surprise. “Father? You’re back. I have something to talk to you about.”
Seeing Rylei come over, a hint of curiosity flashed in Reiter’s eyes. He was prepared to hear what it was about.
Rylei walked up to his father and looked around before saying mysteriously, “Father, I noticed that there’s something wrong with Thales…”
—-
A black line appeared on Reiter’s forehead, but he could only sigh that Rylei was indeed his smartest son. His observation skills were quite sharp, and he had discovered Thales’ abnormality so quickly.
However, he still did not intend to reveal the truth, so he pretended not to care and said, “Thales has always been like this. He’s shy and introverted. Perhaps his emotions have been unstable these past few days. Let’s observe for a while more. Perhaps he’ll be fine in a few days.”
When Rylei heard that his father had no intention of probing further, he nodded thoughtfully and said, “Father, what can I do for you?”
“When I was on a mission at the front line, I discovered a medium-grade meditation technique. You can try to cultivate it.” Reiter took out the Furnace Meditation Technique from his pocket and did not mention that this was a relic of a Grade 5 Magister.
This was because he was worried that the relic of a Grade 5 Magister might cause unnecessary trouble in the future. Although the probability was slim, there was no need to take the risk. Reiter would not try.
Even though the excuse he came up with was still somewhat suspicious, such as the fact that he had returned more than a month ago and had only taken out the meditation technique now.
But he trusted his son, and he knew Rylei. As a smart person, Rylei knew what to ask and when to play dumb.
Rylei’s eyes were filled with disbelief, and he gradually revealed a look of joy. He took the meditation technique with both hands and checked it excitedly. After confirming that there was no mistake, his gaze lingered on Reiter and the meditation technique in his hand.
“I’ve tried. It’s three times faster than a low-grade meditation technique.” Reiter smiled and extended three fingers.
“Father, with this meditation technique, I’ll probably be able to reach the late-stage of a Grade 1 Mage next spring.” Rylei’s eyes were bright. Based on the efficiency of his meditation in the past, he estimated that he would have to wait until the middle of next year before he could break through.
However, it was different now. If he increased his cultivation efficiency by three times, he would definitely break through in advance!
“Haha, work hard. I hope you can break through as soon as possible.” Reiter encouraged him and found an excuse to leave.
Then, on the way back to the castle, he opened the system and chose [Real Simulation].
[Do you want to start the Real Simulation? For every day of simulation, 1 Destiny Point will be consumed.]
Reiter sighed again at how expensive the real simulation was, but he still chose “Yes”.
After the spatial ripples, Reiter knew that the real simulation had been activated. He quickened his pace and returned to the Deep Rock Castle.
It was a decision he had just made.
Thales’s room was on the third floor. Reiter was at the door when he saw Thales reading a book.
Thales liked silence, and reading had always been a quiet companion.
“Father, why… why are you here?” Thales blinked and put down the business book in his hand.
Reiter also saw the book the other party had just read. He sighed slightly. Among his three sons, his eldest son, Tucker, had a combat aura talent, and his second son had a mage talent.
Only his third son, Thales, did not have any talent for cultivation. However, this was a very normal thing. After all, the majority of the people in the world were ordinary people.
Reiter smiled and said, “Thales, do you want to cultivate?”
“Do you want to become a mage?” Seeing that Thales was stunned, Reiter repeated.
“Of course I do.” Thales nodded and replied without hesitation.
Becoming a mage was something that Thales dreamed of. He had read many books, and the alchemy mentioned in them made him yearn for it.
Only by becoming a mage would one be qualified to study mystical alchemy. He had been yearning for this for a long time, but the limitations of his talent destined this to be an extravagant hope.
However, his father’s words made Thales wonder if he was in a dream. He pinched his face. It was very cute.
Reiter smiled and took out the bloodline potion. “Drink this and you will have the talent of a mage. However, this process is more painful. You must endure it!”
Since it was a simulation, Reiter did not waste his breath and did not inform him of the serious consequences of death.
This time, he mainly wanted to test if Thales could withstand the side effects of this Bloodline Potion. Although in his opinion, the probability was not high, he would never give up if he did not give it a try.
“Drinking it can give me mage talent? Could it be a bloodline potion?” Thales said in surprise. He had some understanding of the rumors surrounding the bloodline potion. He had even drunk it in his dream.
“That’s right!”
His father’s affirmation made Thales stand up from his chair. He trembled as he walked forward and took a deep breath. “Thank you, Father. I’m willing!” Thales reached out to take it and swallowed the Bloodline Potion cleanly!
Half an hour later.
Bang.
A stream of blood splattered on Reiter’s face. Reiter was stunned on the spot. Although it was a simulation, the scene before his eyes was real. As if his heart was convulsing, a look of sorrow flashed through Reiter’s eyes. He sighed, “As expected, it won’t work. I can only find another way.”
