Chapter 34 Perfected Divine Lightning Sword Technique!
Again, a month flew by. Nothing much had happened in the Dao Sect in the past month. Due to the Heavenly Domain Ceremony, most of the disciples of every sect were in seclusion, hoping to participate as representatives of their sect.
The Heavenly Domain Ceremony was only held once every 800 years, with strict age restrictions on eligibility: Only the younger generation, those of 30 years old and below, were qualified to participate. Many people would be lucky if the ceremony happened during their time; it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The higher a sect placed in the rankings, the more rewards they would receive, such as special blessed lands.
In his room, Su’en sat on his bed. He had consumed more than half of the Divine Lightning Breath in the box in front of him, and a powerful aura of destruction continued to flow from him.
Suddenly, Su’en opened his eyes, and the terrifying sword Qi in his gaze erupted. The newly-obtained Energy Suppression Disc beside him trembled violently, and huge cracks spread across its surface-more, and more, until the wheel shattered.
“My cultivation has succeeded!” Su’en murmured. He closed his eyes and exhaled slowly.
At this moment, a white sword embryo which had already taken shape was floating above his Energy Sea: the Divine Lightning Sword Embryo!
Using his thoughts, Su’en channeled a large amount of Divine Lightning Sword Qi from the sword embryo-tens of thousands of them, constantly revolving around the embryo. The sheer quantity of Sword Qi nearly made his Energy Sea collapse.
“If I was at this cultivation level when I encountered the demon back then, I would have been able to kill him instantly!”
Su’en opened his eyes and withdrew the fearsome aura from his body, reverting back to his unassuming appearance. Previously, he had only mastered the first level of the Divine Lightning Sword Technique and could only control dozens of Divine Lightning Sword Qi. Now, there were tens of thousands of them-an undeniably qualitative change.
Su’en had thought it would probably take three months to cultivate the technique to its perfected realm, even with sufficient Divine Lightning Breath. However, he hadn’t expected that the more lightning the Divine Lightning Sword Technique absorbed, the faster his cultivation speed would be. Towards the end of his cultivation, he had no longer needed to actively absorb the Divine Lightning Breath, since the sword embryo would automatically do the work for him.
This was why he had been able to cultivate the Divine Lightning Sword Technique to perfection in a month.
“It seems that the hardest part of cultivating the Divine Lightning Sword Technique is the first level: condensing the sword embryo!”
Su’en understood now. In the Heavenly Domain, many martial arts were only difficult to cultivate towards the end. But not the Divine Lightning Sword Technique; its beginning was the most challenging phase. The early stages of cultivation depended on a cultivator’s grasp of the technique, while the later stages were dependent on resources.
Tightening the lid of the box in front of him, Su’en slipped it into his spatial ring and stood up. He had only spent a month cultivating the Divine Lightning Sword Technique, giving him the time to go out and see if he could encounter any opportunities. He had already cultivated these two high-level cultivation techniques to their perfected realms, but his own realm was still too low, only in the early-stages of the Golden Core Realm.
It was too slow to cultivate by merely absorbing the spiritual energy in the Heavenly Domain! With his aptitude, he would probably need decades of cultivation to advance by a mere realm.
Su’en left his room.
“What?”
As soon as he walked out of the door, he sensed someone outside the courtyard. He thought for a moment, then disappeared and reappeared outside the gate.
“Greetings, Senior!”
Standing guard outside the door was another disciple from the labor hall. Su’en’s appearance startled him, and he quickly bowed.
“What are you doing here?” Su’en asked.
After hearing Su’en’s question, the disciple panicked, going tongue-tied.
Noting this, Su’en said reassuringly, “There’s no rush, take your time to explain.”
Looking at his gentle senior, the disciple slowly recovered his composure. “Two weeks ago, the Purple Star Gate sent two items over, meant specifically for you. But you were in seclusion, so I didn’t dare to disturb you and could only stand guard outside the door.”
The disciple’s voice still trembled as he spoke, but he looked at Su’en curiously. The former because of the overwhelming pressure radiating from his senior in such close proximity; the latter because he was wondering why Su’en was connected to the Purple Star Sect. Generally speaking, the few high-level sects rarely interacted with the other sects, let alone the weakest of them all, the Dao Sect.
“What things did they send?” Su’en was puzzled-was this Gu Chuyao’s doing?
The disciple hurriedly took out two boxes from his spatial ring and handed them to Su’en.
Valuable gifts, as expected! Su’en thought. The material of the boxes was nothing ordinary. One glance was enough to tell that they were made of palm wood, specially crafted to preserve their contents.
“If that’s all, I’ll be on my way,” the disciple said. Although he was a little curious about what was in the box, he knew it wasn’t his place to ask such questions.
“Yes. Go to the Pill Pavilion and buy three Blood Essence Pills for yourself. Put them on my tab,” Su’en said, smiling.
“Thank you, Senior!” The disciple was overjoyed. He had hesitated when he had received the items, unsure if he should deliver them to his senior himself or leave it to someone else. In the end, he had chosen to complete the task personally, only for his senior to have been in seclusion, so he had no choice but to wait at the door.
The disciple had thought that waiting at the door for half a month would cost him much cultivation time, but he hadn’t expected his senior to be so considerate as to allow him to collect three Blood Essence Pills! The Blood Essence Pill was a third-grade medicinal pill-a valuable cultivation resource to him, since he was at the Foundation Establishment Realm and could only receive one pill every month.
After the disciple left, Su’en returned to his courtyard and opened the box the Purple Star Sect had sent.
“Divine Spirit Pill? A seventh-grade medicinal
pill?”
One of the boxes held a pill bottle. Su’en opened it and sniffed the familiar scent, before realizing it was a Divine Spirit Pill. It was a seventh-grade medicinal pill that contained more spiritual energy, and was more valuable than the Foundation Establishment Pill.
And there were ten of them in this bottle!
“As expected of a high-level sect. The Purple Star Sect is so generous-ten seventh-grade medicinal pills at once!”
Su’en gave a heavy sigh. Because the Dao Sect had once produced a Heaven Lord, they had been able to obtain a few pills from the Medicine King Sect in the past. But not anymore, since the sect was too weak. Between his contemplation, Su’en opened the other box.
