Chapter 28 Grott’s Knight Martial Techniques
“Challenging both of us at the same time?” Grott and Ferguson looked at each other and laughed without restraint.
“Hahaha… Arthur, I didn’t expect a country bumpkin like you to be so good at telling jokes.”
“I’ve never heard anything funnier than this in my entire life!” Grott said with a cruel smile.
“You’re the first person I’ve ever seen playing around with your life.” Ferguson said with a sneer.
“Arthur, don’t listen to their nonsense! These people have gone through systematic learning in the academy. They won’t be easy to deal with!”
“Don’t fight them!” Jynx wanted to stop Arthur. She didn’t think that Arthur could fight both Grott and Ferguson simultaneously. A hint of satisfaction appeared in Catherine’s eyes when she saw Jynx’s anxious expression. As long as Jynx was in pain, she would be happy.
Afterward, she walked over to Arthur and Jynx, saying, “You’re indeed a commoner. Not only do you not understand the etiquette of nobles, you don’t even have the courage to accept the challenge.”
“You’ve accepted the duel, and you’re going back on your word?”
“This is the most disgusting thing I’ve seen today.” As she spoke, Catherine made a nauseous face.
Jynx clenched her fists with a furious expression, “You!”
“What did I do?”
“You should pay more attention, Miss Jynx. After all, you’ve been with a commoner for so long that you’ve forgotten all about noble etiquette.”
“To actually do something like breaking someone else’s duel agreement, you really don’t have the demeanor of a noble.”
As she spoke, Catherine even picked up a glass of red wine and took a sip in the standard posture of a noble. The others at the side were naturally happy to see such a scene.
“Indeed, the duels between the nobles can’t be broken, even if Miss Jynx is the host of this banquet.” “Unless Arthur admits defeat, this duel should continue.”
“I think Arthur should just admit defeat. Against two powerhouses from the academy, he has no chance of winning.”
“In fact, his own life will be in great danger in this duel.”
“Arthur isn’t a noble. What’s the point of upholding his dignity?”
“It’s better to kneel and admit defeat. That way, everything can be dealt with safely.”
The surrounding nobles’ voices grew louder as they pointed at Arthur.
Jynx’s expression became more and more unsightly. Just as she was about to fly into a rage, Arthur stopped her and shook his head. “Don’t worry, trust me.” Arthur’s ability to touch Jynx’s shoulder at will made Grott and Ferguson narrow their eyes slightly, their anger intensifying.
After Arthur finished speaking, he walked to Grott and Ferguson with his sword and said, “You guys can choose a venue. Also, I wasn’t joking just now.”
Arthur pointed at Grott and then at Ferguson. “The two of you can fight me together to save time.”
“You!” Grott and Ferguson’s forehead veins bulged from anger at Arthur’s carefree attitude. However, they were nobles, so they couldn’t be rough before getting into the ring.
They gritted their teeth and said, “Good! Let’s go to the exclusive dueling platform here. There are enough audience seats for everyone to see your defeat!”
“You’ll regret not recognizing the gap between nobles and commoners!” Grott turned around and walked in a direction, letting Arthur follow. The others noticed the exciting show and followed behind to the venue.
“This commoner named Arthur is in danger.”
“He’s just a poor kid from the countryside. He doesn’t know that there’s a huge gap between the two of them even if they’re at the same energy level.”
Some nobles who came to watch the battle thought even a miracle couldn’t save Arthur. While discussing with each other, the nobles revealed some of the secrets in the academy. “I heard that last month, His Excellency Grott passed the 2nd rank Knight Examination that is exclusive to the academy.”
“To be able to pass that test, it proves that His Excellency Grott has mastered at least one knight technique!”
“There’s a big difference between a person who has martial arts and someone who only uses their instincts to fight!”
Upon hearing the news that Grott had mastered martial arts, a noble next to him widened his eyes and said, “Are you saying that His Excellency Grott has already mastered knight martial techniques at energy level two?”
“This is too shocking!”
“I thought only those at energy level three could successfully learn knight techniques!”
Everyone who heard the news widened their eyes, and their jaws almost dropped.
“Doesn’t that mean that even if he’s up against an energy level three user with no martial skills, he can still fight?”
“It’s possible, but I’ve never seen him use knight techniques, so I can’t be sure how strong he is!”
Everyone looked at each other, feeling that this wasn’t a duel but a personal performance by Grott.
While the nobles were whispering to each other, everyone walked to the ring. A duel arena was built in this place where nobles gathered all year round. This was to prevent people from having fights during a ball that could involve other nobles and cause the situation to escalate to an irredeemable stage.
Now, Arthur stood in the ring, standing opposite Grott and Ferguson. Jynx stood below the stage with her hands crossed in front of her chest. She was concerned for Arthur’s safety.
On the other hand, Catherine looked at Arthur with a mocking expression. Her eyes were filled with admiration when she turned to look at Grott.
After all, she was well aware of Grott’s strength. This transcendent from the countryside was no match for Grott at all. Alas, he was just a prop for Grott’s performance.
On the other side, Ferguson, who was Grott’s helper, couldn’t steal Grott’s limelight.
The other nobles no longer looked at the stage after learning that Grott had mastered a certain technique. Instead, they were busy whispering to each other. Even though it hadn’t started, they thought this was a one-sided battle.
Arthur stood on the stage and glanced at the two people in front of him. He said, “Make your move.”
