Chapter 36 The Wyvern and Professor Rudolf
“Arthur, do you come from a noble family? You were so fast that I couldn’t even see how you defeated Stron with one move!”
“If you weren’t taking part in the selection, I wouldn’t have been able to guess that you were also an energy level two user like us.”
Victor looked at Arthur with admiration.
Upon hearing Victor’s question, the other new students who were shy to approach Arthur slowly gathered around. As Arthur was quite strong, they thought he must’ve come from a noble family.
Hearing their questions, Arthur shook his head and chuckled. “I’m just from an ordinary town. I don’t have any noble background.”
“What?” hearing Arthur’s words, the new students around him widened their eyes.
“How is he this strong if he’s from a normal town?”
“It took him one move to defeat Stron!”
“Just how does he already have an unimaginable amount of power for his level?” Their mouths were wide open as they exclaimed in shock.
These students were already the cream of the crop among energy level two users. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have had the opportunity to join the selection. But today, they could only be beaten when they faced a senior student in the academy.
However, Arthur was able to beat the senior in one move!
It was unbelievable that he had such terrifying power without any noble upbringing.
At this moment, Jynx, who was in charge of managing the staff, seemed to have finished her work as she walked over. She was listening to the discussion from the side.
She couldn’t help but smile as she said, “Arthur’s strength is not limited to just defeating Stron.”
“Last night, he fought one against two and even won in the end!”
Upon hearing Jynx’s words, the freshmen instantly recalled the rumors from this morning, exclaiming, “Could it be that Arthur was the genius who single-handedly defeated Grott and Ferguson?”
Their faces were full of shock. They had thought it was a great achievement for Arthur to finish Stron so quickly. However, they didn’t expect him to be the one in the rumors!
Instantly, all the freshmen looked at Arthur with even more respect. This man had potential that they couldn’t compare to. Of course, Arthur’s future achievements were beyond their imagination.
If they could form a good relationship with him now, there would naturally be many benefits in the future.
While the crowd surrounded Arthur and Jynx, Grott and Ferguson looked at them coldly. The two of them looked at each other and then quickly looked away.
Arthur had caused them to lose face in Cantero City. Once they returned to the academy, the news of them being defeated by a transcendent from the countryside might spread to the academy.
This was something that they, as nobles, couldn’t tolerate.
Grott looked at the sword in Arthur’s hand from the corner of his eye. He could vaguely sense that this sword was extraordinary.
When the sword cut through Holy Cross Sword, the force that surged out wasn’t something ordinary weapons could release.
At the moment, getting that sword was more important than defeating Arthur.
The spaceship flew smoothly for half a day. Perhaps due to the powerful magical wave on the spaceship, no birds or transcendent creatures appeared in the sky.
“We’ll reach the academy in another half an hour.”
“There are often transcendent creatures in the mountain range below. Due to that, the teachers and students of the academy usually come here to train.” Jynx pointed at the mountain range below and introduced it to Arthur.
Arthur looked below.
Below them were endless mountain ranges shrouded in clouds and mist. He could feel many powerful creatures watching the magic spaceship.
“Roar!”
Suddenly, they heard a high-pitched cry!
A wyvern suddenly emerged from the mountain range!
It had a godly green body, ferocious scales, and eyes as black as ink. Its wings spread to twenty to thirty meters when stretched.
The powerful aura from the wyvern made the freshmen on the ship scream.
The wyvern’s whole being cast a shadow over the entire spaceship, making people’s legs tremble!
They were afraid the creature would attack the spaceship in anger. Fortunately, it didn’t seem to have any intention of attacking them. Instead, it only patrolled the area above the spaceship twice before letting out a long whistle and flying away.
Everyone sighed in relief after the wyvern flew away.
“Wait! Look! There’s someone on the wyvern’s back!”
One of the students said in shock. Hearing his words, the others also raised their heads to look. Consequently, their pupils shrank in astonishment. A person was standing on the wyvern’s back, but his face wasn’t visible as he was far away from the ship. Nonetheless, everyone could tell it was definitely a person.
The new students couldn’t be any more shocked when they saw this. After all, wyverns were part of the dragon race. Although their bloodline wasn’t pure enough, they were still nearly as powerful as dragons!
Even the weakest wyvern would have the terrifying strength of an energy level five transcendent once reaching adulthood!
And now, a person was riding on the back of a wyvern as a mount. What kind of terrifying strength did this person possess?
Everyone swallowed their salivas, feeling like they were dreaming.
They had yet to enter the academy officially, but they had already witnessed such a scene. They were stunned!
At this moment, Jynx’s voice resounded in the ship, “Don’t panic. That person on the wyvern was Professor Rudolf. He’s one of the honorary professors in our Sky Radiance Transcendent Academy.” “The famous apocalyptic paladin came from his tutelage.”
“He must’ve been exploring the mountain range and happened to see us, so he came to check on us.”
After hearing Jynx’s introduction, Arthur’s eyes lit up. This was the professor who had taught the famous figure from history? Like Arthur, all the new students looked at Rudolf with longing. This was a teacher who produced a paladin!
Wouldn’t their future paths be much smoother if they became his disciple?
Even if they couldn’t become an invincible holy knight or mage, it was still possible to become an expert respected by thousands of people!
Jynx, who had seen through their thoughts, immediately smiled and said, “Professor Rudolf hasn’t personally taught any students for a long time.”
“If you have the chance, you may have the opportunity to attend his public classes once or twice a year.”
“But don’t be depressed,” Jynx added. “Although you don’t have the guidance of a teacher who produced a paladin, you’ll still receive the best resources on the continent from today on.”
“As new students, you can go to the library later and get a magic or martial arts technique for free!”
