Watching the frown on Gu Yan’s face, Wen Ran gently placed her small hand on his substantial palm and whispered, “Dad, things will certainly be clarified, don’t worry.”

Gu Yan hesitated slightly. His emotions gradually subsided under the care and warmth in his daughter’s eyes. He changed the subject and asked, “Ranran, I am going overseas next week. Do you want to come with me?”

After they brought Gu Yan back to the hospital, they ran into Gu Kai who was leaving the hospital. He just finished surgery and was about to head to the police station.

When Gu Kai saw them returning, he immediately asked about the situation. Upon hearing about Wu Tianyi’s sudden death, he looked shocked, “Dad, how did Wu Tianyi suddenly die? What was the cause?”

“The cause of death is still under investigation. Let the professionals handle it. We just need to wait for the result.” Gu Yan replied matter-of-factly, without further explanation.

“Dad, if there’s nothing else, Ranran and I will go home first.”

Mo Xiuchen, in the driver’s seat, didn’t get out of the car but sat inside and watched the people outside with a handsome look on his face.

“Xiuchen, what’s the hurry to get home? I haven’t seen Ranran for a few days. Let’s all have dinner together later.” Gu Kai teasingly looked at Mo Xiuchen.

He felt that Mo Xiuchen was somewhat off, as if he was angry about something.

Turning his head to Wen Ran, he posed a silent inquiry. Gu Yan chuckled and explained, “It seems Xiuchen is upset with me.”

“What is he upset about?”

Gu Kai asked, puzzled.

In the car, Mo Xiuchen’s thin lips tightened. His eyes deep as the ocean, he quietly watched the three people outside the car without uttering a word.

“I’ve invited Ranran to go overseas with me next week. Xiuchen, if you’re worried, you can come with us.” Gu Yan turned to Mo Xiuchen and shared his thought with him, aware of what he was worried about.

Gu Kai blinked, opened the driver’s door, and said to Mo Xiuchen, “I thought it was something serious; it’s just this small matter! Just go with them, won’t that solve it?”

Mo Xiuchen didn’t answer; instead, he looked at Wen Ran.

Being sharp-witted, Gu Kai immediately understood after seeing his gaze on Wen Ran; she must have stopped him from going.

“Ranran?”

He called out gently, indicating Wen Ran should agree.

Although Wen Ran had been spending time with Mo Xiuchen these days and they seemed as loving and sweet as before, both of them knew in their hearts that things were different from before.

Happily replied Gu Kai. Mo Xiuchen, now out of the car, didn’t release Wen Ran’s hand. Instead, he held it tightly, his gaze following her movements closely.

Wen Jin had received a phone call when they left the police station earlier. There was a problem at the pharmaceutical factory, and he rushed back to deal with it.

Upon receiving Gu Kai’s call, he agreed without hesitation and asked for the address. Gu Kai hung up the phone gleefully, “I’ve already told Ah Jin. He will go straight to the hotel. Dad, don’t take Xiuchen’s car any longer. Ride in mine.”

He then told Mo Xiuchen the name of the hotel, turned around, and walked towards his own car.
