“What are you thinking of doing?!” Layla was just about to question angrily when she suddenly remembered that only she could see this evil spirit, so she could only force back the words on the tip of her tongue.
However, the evil spirit had already used its actions to answer Layla’s question.
The next second, Layla saw her boyfriend clutch his stomach in pain instantly and roll onto the ground.
All of the students were given a fright by this sudden turn of events. Meanwhile, Jennifer knelt down beside Sean right away and pressed his stomach for him. She asked loudly, “Sean! Sean, what’s wrong?!”
Everything was still fine just now. Why did he suddenly roll on the ground in pain? After all, they were all still children in their early twenties and had not experienced much stuff. Everyone was chattering non-stop.
Someone wondered if it might be a gastric hemorrhage while others wondered if it might be appendicitis. Only Layla could see that evil spirit currently jumping around on her boyfriend’s stomach.
Every time it landed with a jump, it hurt so much that Sean couldn’t take it.
Looking at this chaotic scene… “Enough!” Layla suddenly roared irritably, “All of you, go back. Go back to your homes.”
Everyone was at a loss by Layla’s sudden flare of anger. There was no other sound in the entire house other than Sean’s wailing.
After a brief silence, there was greater and louder discussion.
“Layla, what’s wrong? We came to see you.”
“That’s right, Captain. Why are you chasing us away?”
“Captain, if there is anything, say it out loud. Everyone will help you solve it together.”
…
Layla only felt a headache coming on as she listened to the lively discussion around her. She rubbed her forehead a bit impatiently.
“Enough! I said I’m fine. I told you guys to leave. Don’t you understand?!”
Layla’s parents exchanged a glance. They didn’t know why their usually obedient and kind daughter would voice such words.
However, Susan still took a step forward and said, “Thank you all for coming to see Layla today. She’s not emotionally stable right now so I think it’s best if everyone goes back.
“When Layla’s condition improves in a few days, Auntie will invite you guys to the house again.”
When the few students heard this, they were hesitant to stay as well and walked towards the door one after another.
Only Sean—who was rolling on the ground in pain—insisted with much difficulty by the side. “Layla, I’m your boyfriend. I definitely won’t leave you at this point in time. I have to stay with you!”
Layla glanced over at Sean, whose entire forehead was sweating with pain but still refusing to leave, then back at that evil spirit dancing happily on his stomach.
Layla took a deep breath and said coldly, “Sean. In that case, I declare that from now on, you’re no longer my boyfriend! We’ve broken up!”
The words hit him like a bucket of cold water. Sean was stunned. He stared at Layla, unable to speak.
“Do you not understand? I said, I want to break up with you!”
Jennifer, who had originally walked to the door, immediately turned back and said to Layla, “Do you think that just because you’re the school belle and the captain, you can play with other people’s feelings as you please?! What right do you have to hurt Sean?!”
Layla knew that Jennifer had always had a crush on Sean, but unfortunately, while falling flowers yearned for love, the heartless brook rippled on1. Shaun had always loved Layla deeply.
“This is between Sean and me. You have no right to interfere!”
Jennifer was rendered speechless by her retort and could only snort coldly. She exclaimed fiercely, “Layla, I hope you won’t regret what happened today in the future!”
With that, she left supporting Sean in her arms.
As they were leaving, Sean looked back at Layla with every step, but she remained completely unmoved. There was still a very cold expression on her face.
After all the students left, the entire room fell silent instantly.
“Hmph, you actually chased them all away! Stupid prey, I’ll make you pay the price for this!”
Layla stared hard at the skull as a show of a silent struggle.
After a while, Layla said to her parents, “Dad, Mom, I’m fine. I’m just a little tired. Don’t worry.”
With that, she even tried her best to squeeze out a big smile.
“Dad, can you carry me to my room?”
