Chapter 673: Chapter 673: Handle It Yourself_1
Purple Summers was wondering if she had offended anyone lately.
But she couldn’t think of anyone.
She felt she had been very well-behaved, focusing on healing and preparing for exams. No one could be more obedient than her.
Yet, the woman clearly was acting under someone’s direction; otherwise, why would she come to the school for no reason? Really strange…
After returning home, Atra Blanc asked Purple Summers, “Why did you come back so late? Didn’t the teacher say you don’t need to attend the evening self-study anymore?”
“I ran into a weirdo…” Purple Summers told Atra Blanc about what had happened that day.
Atra Blanc, kind-hearted as she was, didn’t find it suspicious and said, “Maybe she was just too panicked and that’s why she didn’t make herself clear? Many people become anxious and confused when something happens. If we meet someone like that again, we should help if we can.”
“Yeah.” Purple Summers smiled, “If she comes looking for me again, I’ll ask her carefully.”
When Alexander Summers came back in the evening, Purple Summers asked him in a low voice, “Could I borrow a couple of people from you?”
Alexander immediately became alert, “What happened?”
Purple Summers repeated the incident she had told Atra Blanc about earlier that day.
Mother and son reacted very differently. Alexander’s eyes filled with a threatening air, “She’s looking for trouble with you? She’s tired of living. Don’t worry about this; I’ll arrange someone to handle it.”
Purple Summers’s smiling face instantly fell, and she asked coldly, “Oh, and how are you planning to ‘handle’ it?”
Alexander said, “Didn’t she say she came a long distance to find you? She can go back where she came from. I’ll have someone send her packing. That shouldn’t be too much, right?”
“Not too much, but I’m not pleased,” Purple Summers said with a straight face, “I need to figure out who’s trying to set me up. If you do everything, what’s left for me? That’s no fun. I want to deal with it myself.”
Alexander thought about it and saw no harm in arranging some help for her; after all, he wouldn’t let her end up at a disadvantage, so he didn’t insist any further.
“Alright, tomorrow I’ll have Zack Wallace over there keeping an eye out,” he said.
“Not Zack Wallace,” Purple Summers shook her head, “He’s always around you, and his face is too conspicuous. Get someone else.”
Alexander was always willing to give her what she asked for: “Fine, I’ll arrange two less conspicuous ones for you.”
Purple Summers was pleased. She glanced at the corridor outside the room, which was empty, tiptoed, and quickly kissed Alexander on the cheek.
Alexander felt a warmth in his heart, slightly stirred. His eyes, dark as ink, squinted teasingly at Purple Summers, “What, not afraid of mom seeing us now?”
“Not afraid.” Purple Summers blinked her bright eyes, proudly stating, “Mom only forbade you from having close contact with me, she didn’t forbid me.”
Alexander was amused by her flawed logic and pushed his luck, “That’s not what you call close contact. It’s perfunctory, showing no attention to detail. Clearly, you haven’t been practicing seriously; all my earnest demonstrations have gone to waste…”
“Go away, pervert!” Purple Summers pushed him toward the door, “I’m going to read now!”
Alexander went out, laughing.
“Hey, wait!” Purple Summers called out to him again.
“What else does the young lady need?” Alexander asked, his lips curving wickedly.
“I need two membership cards,” Purple Summers racked her brains to remember, “Do you have ones for… what’s it called? Parrotbeak Entertainment City?”
Alexander chuckled, “If you’re with me, do you even need a card?”
“It’s not for me; it’s for Zara Jameson and Jane McCain.”
Since Purple Summers had gone to school, she had made a few friends; Alexander still had some recollection of them, “Oh, those two girls. They aren’t my wife, so I can’t just give away stuff for free. How about this: when we get married, you can invite them to be bridesmaids.”
Purple Summers rolled her eyes; he really wasn’t willing to take any loss.
