Chapter 686: Chapter 686 Answering the phone_1
Alexander Summers coughed awkwardly and replied, “Purple just entered the examination hall.”
“What’s the matter with you?” Atra Blanc was incredibly anxious, “Why would you go to Kingsley? Alexander!”
“I came to take care of her…” Alexander sighed in his heart, not expecting to be tricked by the silly pig.
“Mom, don’t worry about it, we’ll be back in a couple of days.” Alexander hung up the phone without further discussion, utterly impatient with Atra Blanc’s lengthy nagging.
After hanging up the phone, he wondered about the name Purple chose for him. If she’s called ‘Silly Sweetheart’ in the contacts, what about him?
Alexander opened the contacts in Purple Summers’ phone, most of which were numbers of classmates. Glancing through them, he didn’t see his own name.
He looked carefully at the numbers and finally found it.
“African… Ostrich?” Alexander couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. What kind of ridiculous nickname was this?
Alexander took the initiative to change his own name in her phone.
Just then, another call came in, showing the name “Marcel.”
Alexander found it amusing. The little thing seemed busy, receiving several calls one after another in such a short span of time.
But who was this Marcel?
As soon as the call connected, Marcel Jefferson immediately said, “Miss, didn’t you ask about someone named Lindsay Carpenter last time? She’s contacted me, but the case happened in Kingsley, so I might have to go there in the next couple of days. Aren’t you taking exams in Kingsley right now? Let’s meet up when I’m there.”
“Understood, I’ll let her know,” Alexander replied.
Marcel was startled; why was it a man’s voice?
“You, you… who are you?”
“I’m her boyfriend,” Alexander said, glancing at the time, “She’s taking an exam, call again tomorrow.”
“Oh… okay, okay.”
Marcel hung up the phone, still feeling somewhat confused.
“Did I just encounter a scammer?” he muttered, “I didn’t hear that the sister had a boyfriend…”
…
The judicial examination consists of four papers: jurisprudence, constitution, and Economic Law in the morning, and Criminal Law, criminal procedure, Administrative Law, etc., in the afternoon. The second day covers Civil Law, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, with the last paper being a subjective one, involving knowledge from 14 core courses.
Each paper requires 3 hours to complete, the whole examination takes two full days, and even with prior experience in the judicial examination, Purple felt extremely nervous and tired after the consecutive tests.
After finishing the morning exams the next day, she and other candidates walked out of the exam hall. As soon as she lifted her head to see the blue sky and white clouds outside, her mood instantly opened up.
Alexander was standing in the distance, waving at her.
With a happy heart, Purple ran over.
“Are you tired?” Alexander touched her head and handed her the drink he was holding.
Purple asked him cheerfully, “Why don’t you ask me how well I did?”
A doting smile appeared in Alexander’s eyes, “So, did you do well?”
“Can’t say,” Purple said with a smile, glancing at the other candidates around her, “some people would be sad if they heard.”
The area outside the examination hall was packed with people; some performed well and were brimming with pride, while others did poorly and sighed dejectedly.
Outside the main gate of the Judicial Training Institute stood a huge granite stone engraved with the name of the institute. Some parents were taking pictures with their children as keepsakes.
Normally, Purple wasn’t one to join in the hustle and bustle, but when she was with Alexander, she somehow became childishly enthusiastic.
She pulled Alexander over, also wanting to take a picture.
Alexander thought this was a silly idea and refused to go.
“Let’s take one now,” Purple suggested to him, “and another one two years later when I graduate. It would be really fun to compare them then.”
As soon as she said this, the silly act immediately seemed meaningful, and Alexander agreed to it.
Just then, a reporter with a cameraman came over and asked with a smile, “Excuse me for interrupting, we are from the news television station. May we ask you a few questions?”
