Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Arrived at the Goblin City!
Translator: Simple MTL Editor: Simple MTL
Level 2 [ heavy strike ].
With half of his stamina used up, the damage he dealt had changed from, his strength attribute x 2, to his strength attribute x 2.5.
Bates then added another soul point, making it a level 3 [ heavy strike].
When he added a third soul point, the [ heavy strike ] and the [ ambush ] skills blurred and disappeared at the same time. Then a new one appeared!
[ shadow assault: passive skill. When you are behind cover, your stealth effect will be greatly enhanced. When you leave the stealth state, you will receive a speed bonus equal to agility x2, for 2 seconds. When you are in a stealth state and attack your enemy, your next attack will cause physical damage equal to the strength attribute x5, and will have a higher chance of causing a serious injury to the enemy. ]
So far, this was Bates’ strongest attack skill!
With the combination of heavy strike and stealth, the new skill could be used as Bates’ main skill! With a physical damage of 5 times his strength points, other than a boss, no one would be able to withstand a sudden attack.
Seeing that he only had 3 soul points left, Bates tapped on [ tough armor ], and upgraded it to [ heavy armor shell ], further enhancing his defense.
Bates then closed his attribute panel.
The fifth evolution required 10,000 evolution points, and upgrading the attribute panel from advanced level to elite, required hunting elite monsters. It was not something that could be achieved in a short period of time.
Bates’ next goal was to break into the goblin base, kill the goblin army lead by Geer, and complete the mission that the system had issued him!
‘I hope Geer won’t disappoint me.’
Bates then quickly disappeared into the forest.
In the depths of the Dark Forest, he saw a stretch of dilapidated tents that carried on as far as the eye could see.
Thousands of goblins lived in these tents, and in the middle of them was an empty space, hundreds of meters wide. A massive tent, which was made up of branches and mud, stood in the middle of the empty space. That tent was the ‘palace’ of the goblin general, Geer.
Compared to the ordinary goblins, Geer stood two meters tall, and was bigger and stronger. He didn’t look like a normal goblin. He looked more like a green-skinned beast that lived in the north of the continent. Not only was its body exceptionally strong, but Geer also had more intelligence than ordinary goblins.
After receiving the inheritance of his ancestors, Geer had once left the Dark Forest and went to the human world. He’d been captured by humans, and given to one as a slave. It was because of that, that Geer knew the true power of humans.
After escaping, Geer had imagined the idea of unifying the goblins and creating a goblin kingdom in the Dark Forest.
Relying on its strength, Geer has successfully conquered the goblin tribes and tamed all the goblins.
Just as he was preparing to expand the strength of the goblins, unify the dark forest, and create a goblin kingdom, many goblin camps had disappeared without a trace.
There were only a few thousand goblins in the Dark forest, so losing a few hundred had impacted their total population significantly!
When Geer heard of this news he was furious. He sent out large numbers of goblin scouts and guards to patrol the forest, hoping to catch the enemies hunting the goblins.
However, after these scouts and guards left the City, most of them lost contact with each other.
When more were sent out after them, no corpses were found!
It was as if an invisible demon was hiding in the darkness and devouring the goblin race!
After losing a large number of scouts and guards, Geer had no option but to gather most of the goblins in the city, hoping to reduce the number of casualties.
In amidst his rage and fear, Geer hadn’t realized that the unknown assassin had quietly arrived at Goblin City!
In a dense bush, Bates was quietly lurking.
The [ shadow ambush ] skill allowed Bates to successfully sneak into the center of Goblin City without being discovered.
Bates was quietly observing the goblin stationed outside the ‘palace’. Standing in front of the large tent, the two-meter-tall giant goblin, who was wearing black armor and holding a long broadsword, had become his next target.
It was the level 15 goblin conqueror, the boss of the novice village, with a lord-tier template, goblin general Geer!
Beside Geer stood a short spellcaster in a white robe, who was a level 14 goblin priest, and had a warrior-tier template.
Around Geer were four goblin guards in heavy armor, holding greatswords in their hands.
These four goblin guards were all level 12, and were not only almost 2 meters tall, but they also had elite-tier attribute templates.
Finally, there were 20, level 10, goblin soldiers. These were only about 1.5 meters tall, and wore worn-out leather armor. The weapons in their hands were not the same, some were long swords, some were large knives, and some were long spears. However, the combat strength of each goblin soldier exceeded that of the advanced goblins that Bates had faced before.
Close to 30 goblins, he carefully counted in his head.
If he could wipe out these goblins, the rewards would be immense.
Just the attribute templates alone made this mission worth it! One lord attribute template, one warrior attribute template, and four elite attribute templates! When these were added to his own attribute template, it would upgrade it to the elite level, or even the warrior level!
Not to mention the huge amount of experience, evolution, and soul points that killing these goblins would bring.
If he could wipe out all of them, Bates would gain the greatest harvest since his rebirth!
Bates was not stupid enough to fight so many goblins head-on. If he wanted to kill all of them, he would need to formulate a detailed plan.
This time, he had to win. He had to get rid of Geer and his underlings!
Bates thought for a while, and his figure slowly disappeared.
