Game of Apocalypse - Chapter 13
Chapter 13 Leap in Strength
【Detroit Ground Combat Technique – Exhibition Skill, Level 2. Agility +0.2, Strength +0.3 and Constitution +0.1.】
However, it was different from last time. At the end of this leveling up notice it still had a ‘+’ symbol.
Odin was puzzled by the speed of upgrading. Did he unknowingly max up his training skills during the spar with Carna?
Odin did not think twice as he constantly clicked at the ‘+’ symbol.
The moment he clicked the ‘+’, his combat skills were ceaselessly reforming. He observed in detail and noticed he had learned Carna’s exhibition skills. Moreover, they had been optimized to fit his own techniques.
For example, Odin’s powerful Mental, due to the constant leveling up, his exhibition skills power would be augmented by his Mental. Each attack he let out would drive the surrounding air current and cause pressure on the enemy’s spirit. Even Carlot and Cardory, who were watching by the side, felt the movement of the current.
Both of them stared at each other and saw astonishment in each other’s eyes. They had been practicing for a long time yet they never met anyone with such a baffling learning speed.
It was obvious Odin was overwhelmed by Carna at the beginning of the spar. However, during the process, he could swiftly understand Carna’s techniques and made them his own. What a terrifying learning speed!
Odin was ignorant of the two’s astonished gaze. Even he himself was stupefied by his leap of strength! After the exhibition skills reached Level 10, there was no more ‘+’ at the end of the message box.
Now Carna was completely out of his league. Odin casually flipped his wrist while dodging Carna’s attack and launched an eagle claw that was as swift as lightning to grab Carna’s arm. He leaned forward and threw Carna’s entire body onto the ground.
She had exhausted a large amount of mental strength during the latter part of sparring. After being violently thrown onto the ground by Odin, she laid flat down on the ground while sweating profusely.
Carna stared at Odin in amazement. She was different from the two spectators since she was the one faced off with Odin. She clearly felt Odin’s progressive changes. From the suppression in the beginning to the ease in the final, his strength increased in a short frame of time. Although she was unwilling, she knew Odin was an existence far beyond her sister.
After defeating Carna, two message boxes appeared in front of Odin.
【Mastered “Detroit Ground Combat Technique – Exhibition Skills”. Every 200 times practicing can increase Agility by 2, Strength by 3, and Constitution by 2】
【Defeated Strengthened Carna, gained 30 EXP.】
Odin wiped off the sweats on his forehead and helped Carna up. “I haven’t seen you for a few days and you improved so much huh, Carna?”
“You don’t have to snicker at me.” Carna waved her hand. Since she consumed most of her stamina and mental strength, she was too weary to speak.
“Odin, we won’t spar with you first. I’ve fully understood your strength and decided to impart the club’s highest-level combat skills to you.” Carlot patted Odin’s shoulder. Before this, he was doubting Odin’s capability but now he was confident Odin would lead Detroit Ground Combat Club on the path of glory.
“Your learning speed is baffling. I heard from Carlot that you visited the God of Death’s church due to you facing some obstacles. Since we chose to properly impart the combat skills to you, that means you are someone we trust. You too can try trusting us, perhaps we could be of help for you.” Cardory was still amazed by the spar but she recalled Carlot’s words thus she was concerned for Odin.
Hearing the word “trust”, Odin realized something and tried recollecting how long he had been distrustful of people. After encountering the Black Death Society right after he received the system, he caged his heart even tighter. However, looking at the sibling’s sincerity, Odin chose to tell them about the matters with the Black Death Society and being a vessel of a god.
The siblings remained silent for a while as though unsure how to comfort Odin.
“This isn’t something that can be relied on the God of Death’s help.” After pondering for a while, Cardory uttered as if remembered something.
“What is it?” Odin hurriedly asked, not wanting to miss any opportunities.
“The campus ranking tournament of the combat club is starting soon. If you represented our club to participate and won first place, maybe one of the prizes would be useful for you.” Cardory added.
“Big sis, it’s inappropriate for him to join the tournament right? Although he is strong and has an outstanding talent, it doesn’t mean he could defeat you. If he is unable to defeat you, it’s difficult for him to receive a good result.” Carna frowned when she heard Cardory.
“No, judging from Odin’s learning speed, it’s only a matter of time before he surpasses me. Perhaps a single spar with me, his strength will tower over mine.” Cardory shook her head and stared at Odin.
“What is the useful item you mentioned?” Odin disregarded their discussion on letting him enter the tournament. His only concern was the prize that could help him break off from the Black Death Society’s grasp.
“It’s something related to the God of Life, its emblem. I don’t know the function of the emblem but I heard from others that it’s a powerful treasure and it’s related to combat strength. Although I’m unsure of the emblem, it will be useful for you to deal with the Black Death Society’s assault since it’s related to combat.” Cardory stared at Leo with a serious expression.
“The God of Life? The one who created the Church of Life?” Odin furrowed his brows when he heard the familiar name.
“That’s right. The ability of the followers of the Church of Life came from the God of Life. However, we were still uncertain of the ability of the God of Life’s power even after a long time. I coincidentally had a fight with a follower of the Church of Life. They were as if they had an infinite amount of power, it’s too unbearable.” Carlot added.
“An infinite amount of power?” Odin felt something flash through his mind when he heard this but he could not recall anything.
